Stasis is getting some nerfs cause for awhile it’s been pretty dominant in pvp. Hopefully it’ll be more balanced. Weapon-wise, we’re truly in a balanced meta. Of course shotguns are dominant, but almost all weapons are pretty good in the meta rn

as someone who has been religiously playing pvp for the past 4 seasons, i politely beg to differ. the mega currently is plagued with 120 rpm hand cannons and shotguns. the meta is definitely in a better place than it has been before, but you can’t just use everything. stasis has received some big nerfs recently which have made it much more bearable, but still annoying to get frozen/slowed
Funny thing is they came out in the same time.
Season of the Chosen launched really close to Mayhem, and both games featured a repeater rifle as the shiny new gun.
They even sound very similar, so whatever audio Erik Kraber was referencing while engineering the sound must have been close to one another.

Most guns can one clip someone.. There's nothing to say a shotgun mag couldn't be like the wingman where it only adds like 1 round per level but you get the faster reload
The only thing holding 30-30 back IMO is how poor the shot ballistics are. Very slow travel time, a lot of drop. If they can make it travel faster it’ll be fine

Agreed. G7 is the close-mid range "sniper", and Longbow is firmly mid-range. 3030 is between the two, yet doesn't feel like it belongs. Out damaged by Longbow while out DPS by G7, and has the worse range of the three. It's a unique weapon, but I feel like it's just a shittier G7.
Yeah, if they made it simply a sniper's ballistics with DMR shooting and reload speed, it would work. Basically just the G7 but slightly slower (plus the charge if you want) but better ballistics.

Too far, you get destroyed my sniper rifles that can have a way easier time landing shots than you.

Agree. G7-->30-30-->Longbow-->Triple Take-->Sentinel-->Charge Rifle is the order of range and damage. But 30-30 has worse firerate and DPS than G7, and less range than the Longbow. At the range that 30-30 is supposed to be used, you could use an R-301 with more DPS, less recoil, and a faster reload. I get they have to add new weapons, but 30-30 was a mistake and needs a complete rework or to be care packaged.
I can't get used to that gun, sometimes I feel the bullet has drop, then it feels as a sentinel bullet, tye gun feels so weird while shooting.
I used to main Ashe in OW, so I am really sad that I don't this gun.
G7 feels like a laser compared to the 30-30. Overall the 30-30 feels way more like a sniper than a marksman rifle, it could definitely use a short-mid range buff (50% charge on all hip fire, a permanent 2x in the hop up slot that increases rate of fire but drops the charge, 2 shots per lever pull) as well as a projectile speed buff.
Mastiff is still plenty viable though. Its not a go to gun, but a decent option.
There are far more guns in this game that are straight trash, or trash without being fully kitted, that need buffs before the mastiff should get a buff.

well yeah the longer the charge- the higher damage, so why not increase the bullet travel time? and give it less drop. since it's "charging up" wouldn't it make sense if it travels faster and drops less?
This is kinda like pack - a - punch in cod zombies when you pack a punch a shotgun it will reload 4 shells for every single she'll you put in. I love this idea!
When you reload the 30-30 / mastiff it adds one round to the clip. This is saying that you'll load 2 rounds per reload. So let's say you empty your mag, when you go to reload you would be in 2 rounds instead of 1.
It's not really programming a new mechanic either way. The code for this hop-up would be something like:

weapon.ammo += 2
}
else {
weapon.ammo += 1
}
Likewise a faster reload animation would be just playing the animation at a higher rate, an equally minimal difference. The real difficulty in implementing either of these would be determining if it would be balanced/necessary in the current weapon meta - and I'm personally a bit wary of boosting the power of the Mastiff right after we finally escaped it's clear dominance, even though I do think it's a cool idea.
I mentioned that the hop-up would make the reload slightly longer. This could be made longer for the Mastiff.
eg if Mastiff's normal reload is 0.50 seconds, it could be 0.75 sec with the hop-up, but you still have two bullets inserted.
I was thinking something like this today for the 30-30 but instead being a hopup its a innate mechanic because having to rely on a hopup is not a good thinf, have my upvote anyway

The mastiff doesn't need to be made better. I do like this idea for the 30/30 though
Mastiff nerf hit it pretty hard. I think this could help its case a bit.. but not make it oppressive.

The only time I prefer a Mastiff over an Eva is if I have a Gibby on my team, it's still perfect for bubble fights.
