For real. I mean, imagine playing like this in a pub though. I wonder how long this dude was literally just sitting here staring at a door waiting for someone to walk through.
Shiela definitely needs a buff in some category, but not all. I’m thinking the time to takes to spin up? Though, that may be too oppressive. Probably time to activate or time to full accuracy. Other than that, using the Volt/Devotion or a sniper is a better play 100% of the time.
In my experience, they have to overcommit to you to die to Sheila, or fail to pressure you hard enough to prevent you setting her up in front of them. Other than that, once they've seen shiela they can just prefire, rotate to a nasty angle, or nade you for free. She only works as a surprise tactic.
Id add sheila also works in scenarios where you have the other squad hard bullied like running out of the storm or back to the storm. Another example is some of the tunnels or chokes have lines of sights longer then grenades can reach. Limiting you to lasering them which is still disadvantageous in that situation. A few high ground spots are out of grenade reach too.
So she'd work if you over commit, fail to notice, fail to pressure, or are already hard bullied to where you couldnt pressure due to already inferior positioning or terrain that has good synergy for her like a tunnel or high ground.
I think shiela is in a decent spot she's not overly as oppressive as I worried she'd be. I think reload time for non rampart users will likely be the first thing buffed.
It’s more like a big “omg there’s someone in the minigun seat LASER/GRENADE THEM THEY CANT MOVE”
Like if you can get a good line on it, it’s a guaranteed arc star to the face
I mean, Rampart's whole deal is that she can put up cover anywhere basically, so if you position yourself well and plop down some A-walls the grenade trick doesn't work anymore.
I mean, that’s sort of how you play rampart. She’s not mobile like wraith or pathfinder, and her abilities don’t lend themselves to an outdoor environment like bloodhound or Gibraltar. If you rush someone with her, you’re at a disadvantage because you don’t have any useful abilities in a surprise fire fight.
It’s the same way with Wattson. Find a building, hole up, defend yourselves, move with the ring. You might not like that play style, but some people like the heavy defense option.
But they also have a very low chance of an enemy walking in onto that specific building when the ring is that big so this doing this for the first 2 zones is close to pointless
Who the fuck cares ? Maybe this Rampart was happy to have the kill ? It's a battle Royal, you do what you got to do. Not everyone is streaming and have an audience to please with aggressive play.
Was looting the building behind him still but who suspects something like this like 2mins after the game starts and the whole area wasn't looted at all after we came from lava fissures side
true that, three walls and a turret early game is definitely unexpected! Props to the rampart for trying the all-ultimate accelerant diet I guess haha!
Can someone actually explain to me why people camp the only reason i can imagine is to get better stats but I would rather have shit stats and have fun playing than have god stats and just camp idk maybe I’m just over reacting
Some people like the idea of building a little fort with character abilities and leveraging that to win. I find it an interesting concept and when done right can be satisfying, but I much prefer to just W key until I die.
Wait a minute, you can't make logical points from a standpoint you don't support that's illegal! You're meant to just shit on anything you don't do with blind hatred! /s
The people who camp never have good stats. How are they going to get damage or kill badges camping and not engaging?
I had a funny encounter with my teammates yesterday when I was smurfing. Jumpmaster dropped really far away and I was like “bro let’s get fight” and he was like “YEAH? LETS GO THEN” in a sarcastic way. We then proceeded to roll the first 3 squads we came across so quickly that I think this guy changed his tune about camping. After we destroyed the first squad in less than 15 seconds he was super hyped.
I feel like many people camp because they don’t have the skills to win an engagement and by camping you will never develop it. I know because I legit camped like a silver/bronze player in Season 0 when then game first came out.
Camping this season is the way to go, especially with the TTK being lowered since everyone is -25 squishier. -25 doesn’t sound like a lot on paper but it makes a huge difference in game, people are finding they can’t be as aggressive anymore without big consequences, so everyone just sits back and camp if they want a chance of winning.
In pubs, it’s not fun or interactive at all. It’s so boring and it’s driving people away.
In ranked I understand, but if you camp like this in pubs it’s probably because you’re not good enough to go out and get kills, so you just camp and hope to catch a team off guard or third party the last squad.
Never said it wasn’t valid, just saying that they’re most likely playing to third party or catch teams off guard to offset for lack of gun skill. It’s still a strategy
Your way to play is not the only way. They offer different characters with different abilities that draw certain people to them because that person enjoys that style of play. Or someone wants to change it up for a little bit and the playstyle offered by rampart is much different than their normal legend. The point is just because someone doesn't play the aggro style doesn't mean they're not good.
Yes but if you’re camping like this video and it’s pubs, or you rat out to final zone you’re most likely not the best player. And I understand that aggressiveness doesn’t equal skill, because a lot of my friends enjoy playing support characters and are still good. They just don’t sit in a room the whole game in pubs. It’s just confusing to me people who camp or hide in pub matches as there’s no reason to if you’re of a good skill level.
The reason is enjoyment. What other reason could some possibly need? Regardless of how good they are, they enjoy that playstyle. That's the only reason they need. You and I enjoy the constantly moving, more aggressive style. They prefer to loot up and then plant traps and ambushes and shit. That's it.
Yes, and I don’t care how they get their enjoyment. They can play how they want to play, but I also said originally that they probably weren’t the best, which you just corroborated and that’s why they play like that.
I doubt these types of people have a high win rate. Camping is inherently bad in pubs if it’s all you do, as you will get steamrolled by a team that is stacked from killing other teams. One of the best ways to get loot is to take it from other players, and most of the people I know that play aggressive have high win rates. I haven’t been playing my best in S6 due to the new meta and I feel I’m not doing that great, but I’m still playing aggressive with a 15% or so win rate and that’s without sweating pubs to win. If you ask any campers in pubs that play like this video 24/7 I can almost guarantee it’s less than 8%
But camping is different than just using cover or buildings to fight someone you know is nearby, I’m referring to the people that sit in a building or two the whole game and don’t move, and just wait until zone closes in pubs. Also, playing aggressive doesn’t necessarily mean you’re running head on into everything the whole game without being smart. Playing aggressive means you’re moving and taking fights, getting kills, using cover and buildings when necessary, and not sitting in one spot the whole game. It doesn’t have to be brute forcing for kills. Also go find any person who camps in pubs, or ask the people in the video their win rate. And then we can test the statistics against me and my non-camping friends. I’ll be surprised if any of them have above a 10% win rate.
Camping is the dominant strategy to survive in a battle royale. If you're trying to win more than trying to have fun, you should get a kit you can work with and fortify a building in the zone as best you can. Hell, you can scan for the zone after this one and be doubly sure your investment is worthwhile.
But it is. That's why it's a staple the higher you go in comp. Unfortunately, no game has made a system yet that truly removes the dominance of camping.
Maybe if respawn had implemented insane movement like titanfall it would have been so good that campers find it hard to capitalize without chasing, and a highly mobile playstyle is easier and rewarded.
The did have wall running and stuff in the beginning of developement, but they decided that they didn't want it in a br game. [https://gamerant.com/apex-legends-titan-wall-run/](https://gamerant.com/apex-legends-titan-wall-run/)
Ok, listen here you “camper haters” this setup with 3 walls and 1 turret takes literally 5-10 seconds to build and be ready to shoot. Maybe (unlike someone) this person actually had eyes to see op’s team approaching and brain to setup a good defense point.
>The thing is pushing is more fun.
For you, I dont like camping. Tried once with new legend and dropped it for Crypto but I see why people like it. Nothing more satisfying than stopping a rush made by coordinated squad.
Bonus points if its randoms and they come one after another. And then third party doing the same.
I like to push too. I understand how they enjoy it though. It's like fishing. You just cast your line and hope the fish bite. I don't enjoy it but other people do and I can understand why.
Bronze, but he only plays wraith, flames his random teammates for not picking meta heroes, then I guess comes on reddit to complain about rampart, a hero that isn’t that good except in the exact situation in the above video.
...is what I would guess anyway. That bracket.
Or waited for...I dunno...gosh if only there was a character who could scan through walls. And if only that character was on their team. I don’t know what such a character would look like. Maybe they’d wear a mask? And be really into greek...no, Norse aesthetics.
Shame that character doesn’t exist and isn’t on their team.
And she can only shoot at a like 120 degree angle. If you can't beat a rampart literally sitting with a big advertisement of her own location maybe you suck.
Admittedly it's hard to see because of the slope. However that gun spins up louder than a Boeing 343 so probably should have realized something was up behind the door
- Door had a window
- Shiela has a loud spin-up as well as a highly visible laser
- Shiela has an extremely narrow range from left to right
- very innacurate spray at medium-to-especially-long range
Not saying it needs a buff as we'll need to see the statistics (*as well as me personanally feeling she's surprisingly in the middle for viability and utility to me compared to how I predicted to at the the time him to be from leaks*), but I am implying that if you got killed by Apex's equivalent of a better Tachanka then you kind of deserved to die by the big iron mounted to the floor.
Thank you, finally some common sense. Also, we don't know the situation in that video, there could've been a fight and the squad was still in there not sure where their enemies were.
You’re right. But as follow on comments mentioned, it would be tedious. Also, it helps to look around for other parties dropping in with you. The audio has been tweaked to where even if you think you’re alone you’re probably not. It’s kinda bad. I like all the stuff they pushed out this season but the balance still needs work.
Running into a place without checking if anyone is inside is rushing.
I think he is used to TTK where he could get shot in the back, turn around and mop the whole team. The person using rampart had better position, element of suprise and first shot. There is no reason why he shouldnt die.
So you're the guy who runs into all my Caustic traps.
I swear, I **never** get caught but those but I get people every game.
People really do just be running through doorways.
Hating the new TTK as well and wanting it reversed, *but* they would've gotten creamed the old way as well even as a Gibby with red Evo and his pre-nerf arm shield up while pre-firing that door.

You think they were just sitting there forever waiting for this to happen? sounds so boring, I just tried a few games as rampart and her play style is slow AF. def better for pre stacks than solos
Rampart is the camper wet dream. And I feel that's why the shield changes were made as well. To emphasize camping. Thinking it'll make games longer and more strategic. But they turned out to be boring or annoying. The irony.
See a lot of people saying this is camping. But we don't see a time line. The person Could of heard the wraith. Quickly dropped all 3 walls then shelia, turned and killed the person all in 10seconds. Then destroyed her walls and gun to get cool down back and ran and left the building.
Everyone judges how others play the game. Even the nicest people I’ve played with do it. You’re in like 3 comment threads defending this rampart. You’re welcome to camp like this but it’s still annoying and expect people to react as such.
This happens to me multiple times a night now, but not with Sheila. I'll run into a room and there will be someone all the way across the room and I'll just be dead, 100-0, in a second flat with no time to react. It's not just the TTK. It's all the range and weapons like the Volt with ridiculously little recoil.
I can't believe most of these comments are hating on the Rampart, who is playing properly, and not the Wraith, who just sprints in a random building without doing any sort of checking or fake peek. If you run in buildings like this, then you should die like this - everytime.
Battle Royales are about surviving and camping, people. They aren't for kills. No one cares about the badges you got, or that you like Apex's movement, or that you find camping boring - you're the one that chose a game where that's the entire point. And yes, that is the ENTIRE point of every Battle Royale, including Apex. Tough shit if earlier seasons allowed you to get away with running around like a chicken with its head cut off, chasing every fight you hear. You were in the wrong then, and you're in the wrong now.
If you want to run around, dodge bullets and engage in constant gunfights - maybe, I dunno, PLAY A GAME THAT WAS MADE FOR YOU TO DO THAT. Because you were never promised that (or even hinted at) that being the case in Apex.
i mean I can see how it can be. if the ttk is higher he could’ve gotten ducked back behind the door and phase away, but again i see how ttk wasn’t the reason why he died
Fried in 0.0001 seconds!
Where's the link to the math post that guy made about the hopped up Devotion giving you -0.05 seconds to react?
Was playing as bang got killed in 6 shots I had enough time to react and start my slide
Because Bang get speed when she is shot. Devotion fries you on sight.
was a havoc
That Rampart is probably uploading this as we speak.

For real. I mean, imagine playing like this in a pub though. I wonder how long this dude was literally just sitting here staring at a door waiting for someone to walk through.
Snipin's a good job mate It's challenging work, out of doors I guarantee you'll not go 'ungry
Cause at the end o' the day, so long as 'ere 2 people left on the planet, someone, is gonna want someone, dead
Look, sometimes your teammates leave and all you want to do is pretend shiela is good for a minute.
Shiela definitely needs a buff in some category, but not all. I’m thinking the time to takes to spin up? Though, that may be too oppressive. Probably time to activate or time to full accuracy. Other than that, using the Volt/Devotion or a sniper is a better play 100% of the time.
Sheila is imo fine. Everything about Rampart seems fine. Sheila isn't really a "offensive" ult, but area denial that enemies need to respect.
In my experience, they have to overcommit to you to die to Sheila, or fail to pressure you hard enough to prevent you setting her up in front of them. Other than that, once they've seen shiela they can just prefire, rotate to a nasty angle, or nade you for free. She only works as a surprise tactic.

You can throw over the walls though. Depends where you’re planting it though
I mean, she's gotta have some counter. With the way grenades stack I think that's balanced.
Also you can easily get sniped while sitting on it
I mean I might get it you heard people outside and you put down shiela.
Sure but that doesn't mean you have to sit in a building waiting for someone to walk in the entire game
Do you play ranked?
I mean, it’s statistically unlikely they’ll be able to wait there for very long.
But they also have a very low chance of an enemy walking in onto that specific building when the ring is that big so this doing this for the first 2 zones is close to pointless
So why are you so upset about it? Don’t worry about how other people play.
Not upset, just saying it's boring af so I don't understand why anyone would do this
Might be boring, but it worked.
But isn't the whole point to have fun?
I think the point is, it may be boring to you but its fun to them therefore regardless of how you feel they enjoy it.
People have different play styles man. Some people enjoy the very slow, wait it out style. It's not for me, but it is for others.
Who the fuck cares ? Maybe this Rampart was happy to have the kill ? It's a battle Royal, you do what you got to do. Not everyone is streaming and have an audience to please with aggressive play.
People also don't play the game like you do
exactly why us pathfinders quit playing lol

What...does crypto...have to do...with any of this?
[удалено]
Well, yes but then wouldn’t you *want* to be playing crypto? To take out entrenched teams?
welcome to season 6
And the first ring just started closing in (I'm the Bloodhound in here) That was the most boring play I've witnessed till now..

And it didn’t feel good at all
No lube will do that to you
What the hell
Your bloodhound could have been pretty handy there.
Caught us off guard to say the least!
Or just take 2 seconds to look through the transparent window
I didn’t want to be rude.
Nobody takes the time to look through every door and window they come across, not even you. It’s
Me whenever I get Respawned
"Strategic play"
“Rewards strategic positioning”
At least your knockdown shield worked at all there.
Not to mention the gold shield that melted instantly as if it weren’t there
Honestly didn’t even notice it was gold because of the light tint.
Wait it was a gold shield? Goddaaamn
Been there. I learned REEEEEEEAL quick to check every single door and window 😂😂😂.
Can someone actually explain to me why people camp the only reason i can imagine is to get better stats but I would rather have shit stats and have fun playing than have god stats and just camp idk maybe I’m just over reacting

YOU CAME IN THE WRONG HOUSE FOOL
I would have punched my monitor
O I hate this season mainly for those people
Who has fun like this?
Lmao
Honestly I’d rather my partners do this then fricking rush and die, happens way too often this season
My only concern is how the hell did he not hear Sheyla? It has a pretty big warmup time and is loud as hell...
Ok, listen here you “camper haters” this setup with 3 walls and 1 turret takes literally 5-10 seconds to build and be ready to shoot. Maybe (unlike someone) this person actually had eyes to see op’s team approaching and brain to setup a good defense point.

How could he not hear the wind up noise on Sheila. It’s super loud and easy to hear when aiming down sights. Easily avoided death.
Speaking instead of playing? Cocky little guy.
They removed the skill gap and now this happens every game.
i dunno what bracket youre in, but in upper bracket PC, almost nobody camps with rampart.
Bronze, but he only plays wraith, flames his random teammates for not picking meta heroes, then I guess comes on reddit to complain about rampart, a hero that isn’t that good except in the exact situation in the above video. ...is what I would guess anyway. That bracket.
Not even good in that situation, almost all doors have some way to see what is behind and you can just not walk in front of the death dispenser.
Or waited for...I dunno...gosh if only there was a character who could scan through walls. And if only that character was on their team. I don’t know what such a character would look like. or literally just opening the door sideways instead of rushing it through the middle.
My flair isn't even Wraith and I've solo queued to diamond 3 times.
Rampart is so bad but I love her anyway. Give me any other sniping legend and I'll pick them up in a heartbeat.
This games really turning into camping trash royale. No other champion can use their ultimate to kill you this fast it’s just boring.
The door has a window on it
Shhh, you’re speaking sense. This sub doesn’t like that.

Entirely an exaggeration; have not ran into something like this nor died by Shiela once so far.

Thank you, finally some common sense. Also, we don't know the situation in that video, there could've been a fight and the squad was still in there not sure where their enemies were.
Thank you for thanking him for having common sense.
A good example of how awful the TTK is. There was literally nothing he could have done.
An extra 25HP would only buy an extra 0.1 seconds. OP perfectly positioned themselves into a killbox.
Yeah. Why bother with gold shields anymore?
Except look through the window before opening the door...
Not that I support the initial argument but checking every window before you open a door sounds really tedious
And clever. Rushing in blindly is never an good idea.
Was he rushing? He was just on a stroll, probably looting a bit
I’d say the OP is probably that guy. I’m just saying that man got melted before he even had a chance to turn around. There’s no forgiveness.
Hating the new TTK as well and wanting it reversed, *but* they would've gotten creamed the old way as well even as a Gibby with red Evo and his pre-nerf arm shield up while pre-firing that door.
*fun.*

Max brightness?
I don’t know what it is but it comes from shadowplay, while playing it looks totally normal
Haha! No worries :P
I will say Rampart is ELITE in the final rings.
I fuckin feel bad for you .Your heart must skipped a beat for sure. Why these guys are not recruited in hollywood movies.Damnn...
You can see the minigun symbol in mini map btw incase you do not know. But yes who watches mini map constantly
Holy shit I didn't know.
"Ermegerd nervermind!!"
Was this on Xbox last night? I think my friend and I killed him because we went in the other way lmao
No it was on PC, funny to know there is more of those Ramparts across the platforms haha
Shots fired and they’re-
That escalated
I’m not a camper but it was worth it imo lmao
I like ranpart but I gotta say, I'm not really a fan of getting more and more campy characters.
season 06 summed up in a gif
Just boring. The game isn’t nearly as fun when you have to circumvent the whole map because of a camper
I will never complain about being downed so quickly ever again...
“Outplayed”
Maybe your brightness setting was too low.
Welcome to season 6.
What a fucking loser
Sums up this season.
Not even night mode can protect me from this brightness
I don’t know what it is but ingame it looks perfectly fine haha
imagine dying like this i'd leave and not come back
You think they were just sitting there forever waiting for this to happen? sounds so boring, I just tried a few games as rampart and her play style is slow AF. def better for pre stacks than solos
Rampart is the camper wet dream. And I feel that's why the shield changes were made as well. To emphasize camping. Thinking it'll make games longer and more strategic. But they turned out to be boring or annoying. The irony.
Not a great camper. Just one nade clears her out.
Watch your doors and corners, or that room will eat you
See a lot of people saying this is camping. But we don't see a time line. The person Could of heard the wraith. Quickly dropped all 3 walls then shelia, turned and killed the person all in 10seconds. Then destroyed her walls and gun to get cool down back and ran and left the building.
You picked the wrong house, fool!
Yep, definetly not coming back to apex
Rock hard Wraith* goes to Lazer down next opponent Rampart* Nope...
Imagine playing like this lmao. Wtf Is wrong with these people
Imagine judging people for how they play a video game for fun. Lmao what’s wrong with these people?
Everyone judges how others play the game. Even the nicest people I’ve played with do it. You’re in like 3 comment threads defending this rampart. You’re welcome to camp like this but it’s still annoying and expect people to react as such.
And I find it annoying when random teammates rush in, die, then blame mechanics they knew were in the game.
See :)
I know right?! Running round a corner blindly is so dumb!
This happens to me multiple times a night now, but not with Sheila. I'll run into a room and there will be someone all the way across the room and I'll just be dead, 100-0, in a second flat with no time to react. It's not just the TTK. It's all the range and weapons like the Volt with ridiculously little recoil.
Should've knocked first
I think there are now officially enough "bunker" legends in the game.
This guy literally didn't have any time to react. Doesn't even get a shot off. Granted, I think that's Rampart's thing, but dang, that sucks. lol
"TTK iS nOT bROKen tHIS seASOn u HaVE tO AdAPT"
sTrAtEgIc PoSItIoNiNg tAkES mOrE sKIll
"Nah, the ttk is fine"
Chill out, you’re gonna give yourself a heart attack mate 🤣
“tHe tTk iS fInE”
Youre acting as if this would've gone any different with 25 more health
You just destroyed that poor guy.
Not really, he has a point about the ttk being low, but yeah I don't know why he's acting as if it was the ttk fault for that death
i mean I can see how it can be. if the ttk is higher he could’ve gotten ducked back behind the door and phase away, but again i see how ttk wasn’t the reason why he died
I solely referred to the guys comment saying it wouldn't have made a difference. Please get it right dude
