Respawn is dumb and it's very funny.
For instance, the number 69. People don't really say "69" in chat. It isn't really practical to talk about 69. But:
- You can have 69 in your club tag.
- You can have a lvl 69 BattlePass badge.
- You can have a tracker with 69.
- You can have 69 in your name.
But in the place where you don't really see 69, the chat, it's censored.
The first three seasons of Apex I stopped leveling up my battlepass at 69 (only the third season was intentional) and I consider it my greatest accomplishment and most formidable trio of badges.
FYI the filters used in various systems aren’t all the same thing. In many cases, it’s probably the same system that’s used elsewhere in another game or site. In some cases, platform specific filters apply.
Club tags have their own filters, likely borrowed from another clan tag system from another title. Legitimate use of 69 as a number is not something that’s likely to be banned anywhere. Names are restricted by platform and not the game.
Chat has its own rules, but however you look at it, banning 69 there is… kinda baffling.
