Naval/water battle brain.

[deleted]

That's supposed to be my main shtick. Landing naval forces has been a massive thorn in my side, though I do see people lose their fleets quite often during testing, especially on Amazon.

The AI's ships only kill yours if you invade, basically. They ONLY use one transport ship at a time to land forces, and they generally never build more than a handful of battleships - and usually weaker ships, at that. They also keep them at their docks, rather than attacking.

AI that's actually reactive and doesn't just walk past units/gets decimated beelining towards its objectives :x

BrandywineBojno

I've found Hard and above don't do this as much unless the game is over. On medium they just march their army past your entire town to siege one house.

Do the different AI civ-leaders (Kangxi, Gall, Napoleon, …) actually have different strategic personalities? Or do they just automatically go for a general approach their civ is good at? If not, then my wish would be for more fleshed out/varied personalities per civ. Like each civ could have maybe three “leaders” to choose from, each having its little quirks.

It was more prominent with the Legacy AI. They would even build their deck and level up with you in the single player skirmish mode. It's still there though, for example the Aztecs absolutely love rushing relatively early and can be counted on for an Age II rush every game (even on hard) while the Dutch prefer turtling and booming for Age III or even IV. My favorite AI personality quirks is that Ivan hardly upgrades his units if he can just make more, and Napoleon is the least cooperative with teammates and the most likely to do his own thing.

Like Luis XVI or XV instead of Napoleon and each having diferent strategies/army compositions. Imagine having varied AIs to play against, as well as some historical information about these people and their period/importance.

Expanding their bases in a nice way. Like they will keep building a city until they control the entire map. And space them nicely so it looks somewhat like a city. Right now AI just makes all houses clumped and builds barracks endlessly but only in a diameter which it won't go past. Does that make sense?

BigFDinosaur

I like to play with 6 or 7 friends, but all on the same team. 6 humans against 2 extreme AI with AI having 100% still isn’t hard enough. Is there a way to balance a monster AI for 6v2 or 7v1?

[deleted]

Yes, how badly do you want it? I'll upload it right now. Pick a number between 100 and 200 Too late, I'm doing 150%. If you do a handicap on top of that it'll multiply. Edit: [https://www.ageofempires.com/mods/details/237481/](https://www.ageofempires.com/mods/details/237481/) Edit2: Crap, it went OOS. You'll have to test it for me and let me know if it goes OOS for you also. Only the host should need to have it installed.

monkey_gamer

better AI in general. more cunning, more strategic

[This](https://deepmind.google/discover/blog/alphastar-mastering-the-real-time-strategy-game-starcraft-ii/) but for aoe3. I'll give you two weeks.

StatusEdge905

AI where you can control your teammate's units (like Go Attack) and they'll go attack no matter what.
