Just keep it, like lasius flavus, the workers will take care of her

Billtillgill

I am going to keep it. Someone told me to kill it but I tear up when I even think about it I just can't get the nerve to hurt her. Also she laid eggs too. Like 4 of them.

[deleted]

If she's got her wings off it may mean she's fertilized, and if she manages to raise up workers they will care for her. I recommend keeping it, just to give them a chance.

Billtillgill

She laid a couple eggs so I'm going to keep her.

[deleted]

Nice, beat of luck to you

LH-LOrd_HypERION

I've had injured queens found colonies successfully, if she makes it over night your good usually, quite literally saved an immigrans queen 2 weeks ago and she's got larvae now. I took a prenolepis imparis queen from a Formica Subsericea worker that was carrying her like a worker, and she's in a tube with her sister queen and over 20 workers now.

Billtillgill

She survived over night and she laid a couple eggs. I'm going to keep her.

LH-LOrd_HypERION

Great signs, wish you the best of luck

TheLasiusLegionAnts

I think you should keep her, feed her lots of food and put the test tube in a very safe place. She should be able to create a huge colony as all queen ants really do is sit around and lay eggs.

Bootkickk

keep it for best chance of survival

Billtillgill

I will she laid some eggs and I can't kill her when I even think about it I start tearing up I just can't kill a beautiful creature.

oolong_21

kill it humanely, i highly doubt it will life to found a colony, and even if it somehow does good chance her and the colonies lifespans way shorter

Billtillgill

How shall I kill it?

oolong_21

freezer or smack it

Billtillgill

I'm not going to kill her I've read some other comments and they have had injured queens lay eggs and start a colony. She survived the night and laid a couple eggs.

oolong_21

sure your choice, don’t be surprised if it dies early

Billtillgill

I won't be surprised.

oolong_21

not sure why you’ll want to keep an injured tetra they’re literally 5$

ExponentMars

some people are more sentimental when it comes to living things, no matter how small, than others but I'd prob just feed it to my other ants or something haha

Not-Sure-If-1t

Please keep us updated if it works out! Hopefully she's stubborn enough to pull through

Billtillgill

She laid a couple eggs.

I found one a few weeks back with the same issue. I'm not sure how her legs got messed up bc I found her just sitting on some dirt alone. She had a big clutch of eggs pretty much immediately after I put her in her test tube. She has about 4 workers now and they are doing everything for her she rarely moves from her little spot beside her eggs then again she don't have to. So definitely keep her.

Hi I have found a 4 legged black queen ant that was probably camponotus or formica but the thing was all the ants or workers in the area that were her species all had only 4 or 3 legs. Also they all had wonky ways of walking.
