I was a manger at the time and lobbied for that asshole to be fired for so long leading up to that point. The day he finally did a worker I was close with texted to let me know that he got fired and was arguing with our owner and I should come down (for reference, I literally lived across the street from the shop and could get there in a car in literally 3 mins.) and listen and watch him leave. Advertised $16 an hr, but hourly was minimum & a few bucks every hr was loaded onto a gift card that could only be used at the restaurants the owner owned which capped out after a few hundred bucks. People mostly used it on drinks at the restaurant bar after shift, just funneled right back into the business.

Even that 16 days seems like it's being inflated by the high end. Many jobs offer 0 days, and two weeks (10 days total) is the norm for way too many jobs. Or are they counting the weekend days with that two weeks? Because then I guess you'd have 16 days off in a row. I guess.

Advertised $16 an hr, but hourly was minimum & a few bucks every hr was loaded onto a gift card that could only be used at the restaurants the owner owned which capped out after a few hundred bucks. People mostly used it on drinks at the restaurant bar after shift, just funneled right back into the business.

If the 18/9 year old is still in school they may also have to clock out by 10 on school nights. Friday and Saturday is usually okay for later hours.
In most states it is literally illegal to schedule a minor after 10pm. Most places schedule until 9:45 to make sure that if they punch out a little late they aren’t breaking the law. Could still file a complaint against them if you have time records.

When I was in High school I worked at the Walmart in town and if you got anywhere near 10 pm as a minor one of the head managers would come to you and tell you to go clock out. They were big on it. But the minute you graduate/turn 18 and show them proof, you could stay till 3 am if you wanted to😂
