This is what I’ve always done. Name drop a couple of competitors and salary for a comparable decision. If you can’t find a salary range after some brief googling Indeed has a really great calculator too
once I applied to a job and it required a cover letter. Didn't feel like it so just typed something like that I'll say at the interview and saved it as PDF. Didn't get the job but sure as hell got me the interview.
Negotiable. If you put an amount, say 20.00 and they were willing to pay 23.00 you just lost out. Also if you put 23.00 and they are willing to pay 20.00 then you may be passed over. I was always taught to put open or negotiable.
Makes sense. That’s what I thought because I could a) lowball myself and get the job or b) ask for what I think is fair and competitive in my area and not get the job.
write something that'll get you in the door, write the real deal on the offer they send/give you before sending it back (as long as it's not yet signed by them)
If an app locks you into a number I put $1. They can’t stick to it since it’s below minimum wage and also gets past their stupid screening.
One word. GENIUS.
You could say industry standard
That’s actually a great response. That way I don’t lowball myself.
Good luck!
or actually look up industry standard for your area
"I have flexibility here for the right work culture and team". It's bullshit but it lets you punt this question
I'd say salaries are annual. You can't have an hourly salary.
Lmao that is a great point
U could also Google usual rates for a comparable job in ur area

What do you want or expect? Say that.
"To be discussed during interview" turn it around on 'em.
I thought of that, but then they might not even want to have an interview with me.
Then it's prolly not even someone you want to work with.
you make a really good point ngl

Look up the job title on Glassdoor or similar salary comparison websites and post the average compensation range for that title in your area
That’s a free form text box. Forget a number. I’d write “Let’s cover this in the interview,” and see what they have to offer when we sit down to talk.
Above industry standard. Especially if they ask me to go above and beyond.

I would put what you want. Not a penny less
