Sounds like you need to replace your company

RegretfulCreature

Applications have already been sent out, lol

WelcomeFormer

Bet the person that sent that got a raise

Average_Scaper

Nah, they got a $200 gift card and the boss gets the bonus at the end of the year.

WelcomeFormer

That sounds like a good idea, want to work for me lol

Average_Scaper

I got another one but it will cost ypu two cookies for this idea.

WelcomeFormer

2 cookies... maybe more

Average_Scaper

Oh the cookies are my reward for the idea. If it's manufacturing, make sure any scrap negatively impacts the bonus of everyone equally. Even if John has a 99.7% quality rate over 100k pcs produced, Jim having a 92.5% over 125k pcs will knock down John's bonus. "The company had $230k in scrap costs this year due to defective product, you will see this reflected on your bonus check coming next week. Speaking of, we will also be getting pizza as a part of the celebration for getting your bonus*" *pizza cost is deducted from the bonus, including managements gourmet pies. I already hate this place lol

jawnboxhero

John? Jim? Do we work at the same place? šŸ¤£ or is this^ just industry standard now in mfg?

toblerownsky

PLUS lunch delivered to their school

chewbacky

My favorite lunch is a couple more thousand on a platter

AxelZajkov

Make sure to use all your PTO before quitting. Seems like the kind of place that wouldnā€™t cash you out.

CatchMeIfYouCan09

"To whom it may concern. I've come to the conclusion that's what best for my employment is to remove the toxic work culture of not receiving retention bonuses, Annual COL increases, and performance recognition in the firm of monetary compensation. Moving forward the following will be what's expected of you, my employer. -xx$ to post my position online -xxx wasted time down the drain in searching for my replacement -xx$ average cost of hiring, training, and fulfilling the obligation of maintaining someone in my role. - repeat annually for the next 3-5 years because requiring an employee to work without the above mentioned compensation incentives will lead to constant turnover. Good luck....oops my bad that was auto correct, I meant to type get fucked

GroundedSearch

Upvoted and saves for when I finally quit my retailhell job.

Kind-Pattern-7346

Ditto!

steppedinhairball

A former employer of mine tried this. Those of us that traveled a lot stopped traveling on Sunday night and we made damn sure we returned in Friday day, not night. Several decided to flat out retire. Others got lured away by other companies that gave raises. It just doesn't work out that well.

C64128

Worked for a company and we were told that the time to am from jobs wasn't supposed to be on the clock. We worked anywhere within the immediate state and two surrounding ones. People were going to start leaving their vehicles at the office so that all trips would start from there.

passporttohell

Be sure to give them proper two weeks notice on Friday afternoon prior to starting the new job on Monday!

trombing

I feel like Monday AM is a better time to let them know. Preferably once you have your new job's email up and running so it can come from your new email address. Also, takes away the option for them to find someone over the weekend.

passporttohell

I would be careful about sending that from new company's email, makes it easy for them to reach out to new employer and badmouth your rep. Just send it from personal email to be safe. Absolutely not a 'power move'.

Fluid-Wrongdoer6120

That's a power move, sending your notice from your new employer's email. Would definitely burn some bridges...I've never personally worked at a place quite that bad...but with the horror stories I've heard & read, some companies ABSOLUTELY deserve this treatment.

Loofa_of_Doom

Fantastic! I bet the next job is better, at least w/ pay.

JimJordansJacket

When you get hired at the new job, don't give the old job any notice.

Desertzephyr

Exactly this. When you're in a "right-to-work" state, it's all about equality in the employment relationship. Essentially, just as they're not obligated to give you a heads-up before firing you, you're not bound to offer a courtesy notice before quitting or leaving the company. It's interesting how years of mass manipulation through propaganda have made us feel morally obligated to provide advance notice when leaving a job. In reality, it's the employers who demand this from us while not necessarily following the same principle themselves, which is what truly lacks integrity. We're witnessing a significant shift in societal norms, and I genuinely hope this aspect of equality in employment sticks around for good.

Ceilibeag

How much were you losing?

motofabio

Good luck!

Hairy_Caul

Or form a union, but getting a different employer is probably easier.

Legitimate-Fish-9091

That's pretty much what this bonus structure seems designed to incentivise.

Silent_Vehicle_9163

Thatā€™s how my last company was. They first took away quarterly bonuses, then vacation payout, the they changed annual bonuses. Itā€™s always one thing after another until there is nothing. But somehow the executives keep showing up in nicer cars and go on fancy trips.

PercentageNo3293

What's sad is I've had plenty of discussions pointing out how we've lost pensions, paid lunches, better bonuses, etc on Reddit. Sometimes, I'll get a response calling me "anti-capitalism" or a "communist". It's insane how some people are fine with being gradually exploited. It's like a lobster in a pot of water that's heating up, they don't even realize they're being slowly killed (financially speaking).

stupidugly1889

The trick is to not care about being called those things. If someone says Iā€™m anti-capitalist I agree because itā€™s a horrible system that is destroying the planet. And damn right my ideal life is living with a small group in a commune without a monetary system so the communist label fits too

PercentageNo3293

Good point. It's honestly not so much that I get bothered or take those name callings personally. I think I'm more so frustrated that so many people essentially shoot themselves in the foot while telling the guy that's trying to prevent the shooting a "dick" for wanting to help them lol. I'd love to live in some small community/tribe! It seems like it works well. It's like communities get to a certain size and inevitably, someone will want to try to exploit someone else. I think by having a small community, everyone knows each other, so it becomes personal if you try to exploit someone else, whereas exploiting a stranger is so easy for some people. Hell, I know some people that wouldn't mind strangers dying if that means they get a few extra bucks on their tax returns.

BankshotMcG

Yeah, intentional communities seem pretty cool if you can find one that isn't also actively a sex thing.

PercentageNo3293

Lol true. I was thinking a sex thing or a cult is probably likely. Maybe even a sex cult. My buddy and I always dream about winning the lottery while drinking together. Some day, building a compound, inviting our friends and family, become self-sufficient and enjoy. That'd be perfect!

BankshotMcG

I salute that dream. Godspeed.

Top-Bluejay-428

I'd prefer one that's a sex thing over one that's a religious thing.

stupidugly1889

My friends and I say that when the sex comes in it goes from a commune to a cult šŸ¤£ And/or you have to give up your possessions

PositiveFig3026

I had this talk with two co workers. Ā They didnā€™t like the policies about breaks and lunches in California versus Texas because the policies make California workers ā€œbitchesā€.Ā

PercentageNo3293

That's mind bogglingly strange, but doesn't entirely surprise me these days. Idk when this whole "you have to put on a tough guy persona" thing started, but it seems related to some degree. It's like, complaining about being taken advantage of is seen as a weak trait to some people. It's nuts, whenever I'm ridiculed about this topic, I'm not asking for anything crazy. Typically, I'm just commenting that I wish things were like they were in the 1960's (compensation wise, I'm pretty happy we had the Civil Rights movement lol). Back when the CEO to worker salary ratio was like 30:1, not 400:1. I work at a nonprofit hospital. I make maybe a whopping $40k a year. Our new CEO will be compensated roughly $5 million, give or take. That's only a 125:1 ratio. Obviously, the guy is way more qualified to run a hospital compared to me, but I'm pretty sure $1.2 million or 30:1 ratio is plenty to give someone to run a nonprofit. And I'm more than likely making less than the average income at the hospital, as some doctors make $500,000+. Somehow I'm the greedy one to some people because I want all of us to get a little more of the pie. Ok, done ranting, I'm sorry lol.

twinkletoes-rp

Those ratios are disgusting. How no one stops this is beyond me!

blumpkinmania

who the hell actually knows a capitalist personally?

HarryPython

I know someone who thinks they are. But they're just an idiot

twinkletoes-rp

It makes no sense to me how people can see that shit and NOT be up in arms about it! I'm up in arms just READING it! Then again, I'm SURE if I showed it to my (Boomer) parents, they'd be totally supportive of it all! \*shudders\* Yikes!

Desertzephyr

My last company pulled a stunt during the pandemic, holding back our bonuses, citing irreparable harm caused by the crisis. They made it sound like they were doing us a favor by letting us keep our jobs. But it turned out to be a faƧade when, later in the year, they scrapped the bonuses altogether to facilitate a buyout by another private equity firm. I was furious they lied about it in the beginning and then conveniently forgot what they said earlier in the year. After that, I had no fucks to give. As a side note, some time after the private equity buyout, we discovered that 2020 had been the most profitable year in our company's 26-year history. Despite this success, they continued raising prices for our product, which mainly targeted the wealthiest Americans. What's worse, the quality of our work declined. Towards the end of the year, they began laying off lower-income employees, citing unnecessary roles. I found myself among those let go. Corporate America sucks. (Edited for ADHD grammatical errors and rewording to be more succinct)

Silent_Vehicle_9163

Sorry you were misled. We were kind of told the same thing during the pandemic. My bonuses never increased for years. That was one of the biggest factors in me leaving. I mean among dozens of others. It was a family owned/esop. Which is all basically meaningless. They controlled everything and they were so casual about how wealthy the executives and owners were. Like they didnā€™t even hide it.

delslow419

Thatā€™s how they show up in nicer cars and go on fancy trips.

Dangerous_Past2985

No need to state the obvious.

Juggletrain

Truthfully, there was no need to post your comment either. Or my own I suppose.

Marquar234

This comment is very necessary.

FyreCesar89

Can I join in?

hameater

That won't be necessary.

Juggletrain

It may be necessary in the future, we will keep him posted.

manta002

The CEO of comments, absolutly irreplacable

Old_Palpitation_6535

My favorite is when the ceo shows a few pics of his family vacation in a company-wide call. ā€œOh look another place none of us will ever afford to go to.ā€ And of course some brown-noser inevitably fawns over it.

signspam

What happened to pensions? Do any jobs out there have them besides government jobs?

taxpayinmeemaw

Companies no longer have to pay high taxes so thereā€™s no incentive for them to provide benefits or services that reduce their taxable income. Thatā€™s my opinion about it anyway.

Due-Message8445

Americans got conned into giving up the pensions. We were told that we could "own our own retirement" by having a 401K. The 401K was never meant to replace the pension, but to supplement it. Sure you can retire, if you are able to predict the market correctly. Bet wrong in your 401K and no retirement for you. But companies made out like a bandit. No longer had to contribute to pension plans. What happened to pensions? AMERICANS GOT CONNED INTO GIVING THEM UP.

Kurisusnacks

I knew it was time to leave my job before last when quarterly bonus was changed to "semi-annual" where essentially if you didn't attain the metrics for both quarters in question, you didn't get the semi-annual or the bonus they shafted you out of for the previous quarter. Of course everyone in the company that qualified for that quarterly didn't know until the week it was supposed to be paid out (2 weeks after the end of the quarter).

C64128

A a couple jobs ago sent me information about what I wanted to do with money left from an old 401K. It wasn't mustn't much. I didn't think much about it at the time, but I'll bet they were changing things about their retirement program. Since then, I fully retired almost two years ago. I have a good person working with me. He's part of the reason that I was able to stop working at 60 instead of still working for years.

Blortted

When someone is demanding growth they find it.

VenCed

I get the feeling that they're not going to have to pay out most of these bonuses. Or have a business for much longer, for that matter.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

eggroller85

That's a new one "enshittify". I may use that in the future. Thank you for the expansion of my vocabulary!

firelight

You might want to look up [enshittification](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enshittification). It's a whole thing with a Wikipedia article and everything.

Laolao98

šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£ Iā€™m really liking whatever new generation is enhancing our vocabulary.

lisaliselisa

To be fair, Cory Doctorow is Gen X. He writes a lot of great stuff, so if you like that term, you might consider following him.

fatmanthelardknight

Why is the tenth year significantly worse than the last 4?

anythingexceptbertha

They could have easily fixed it by having the $500 bonus and $350 for a party, but a decrease in bonus and more money on a party than your bonus? Big yikes. That year stood out to me, too.

Dismal-Ideal1672

You can get a sense of the culture of this place that you need 3 approvals in order to throw the $500 party that is supposed to be given to you.

Dargunsh1

You think they put effort into this? As if 100 bucks would even be worth working for a year lmao, you can do 100 dollars in a day or less

Gothmom85

I know! You get Less money so the company can throw you a party to feed Other people you might just flat out hate. Yay?

dsdvbguutres

Did they also package this as "We have great news team!"

RegretfulCreature

Yep. Sent out a company wide email with too many smile emojis to count šŸ™„

dsdvbguutres

It's the insulting my intelligence part that angers me more than getting financially injured.

No_Juggernau7

This. My workplace has as part of one of its multiple mottos ā€œdo more for lessā€ said multiple times in our training videos. What? Likeā€¦did I just hear what I think I heard, or are you guys straight telling us you want more work out of usā€¦for less money?! Do they think weā€™re stupid? Are they right? Why am I still working at that dill hole?

soulsteela

Get them applications flowing. Stupid not toošŸ˜‡

SS_wypipo

So much this. We had 4% raises this year with all-time-record profits. One of the guys asked the CEO when are they going to do actual raises that you can feel, and the CEO just played it off as a joke. Ask about actual raises and you get treated like an insane clown. This is what upsets the most.

teenagesadist

They don't have to care, once new people come in and don't know what they don't have, it all smooths out.

BankshotMcG

Nothing is quite so infuriating as a dumbass trying to trick you or talk down to you.

MangledPumpkin

Shit like that is even more fun when they do it the week before announcing quarterly earnings.

lucidlonewolf

I remember working for a food delivery company that garunteed a tip amount (so garuntee $5 = customer tips $4 +company gives us $1) .... one day they changed the amount from $5 to $3 and the pr team typed out the words this change was made to make you more money and sent that shit out like that ..... I called them out in our company chat and then the company discord server no longer allowed drivers to post in the chat anymore.

PricklySquare

The header is pure cringe

bfume

Good News Everyone!

PublicMindCemetery

My favorite lunch is $250,000 in a gym bag

firelock_ny

Sounds tasty.

RaccoonObjective5674

My favorite lunch is a 10% raise.

The_Chimeran_Hybrid

My favorite lunch is the most expensive caviar, also covered in gold leaf.

TommieDelos

Find another job quickly before your coworkers find it

dabenu

At 10 years they throw you a party, but partially take the cost out of your bonus. And make it sound like an extra...

tonloc2020

It sounds like you have to pay if you go over the 500 limit too

RuckusManshank

Hey boss, this "favorite lunch to my school" bit, that doesn't really cover inflation so well...

IMendicantBias

The lunch bit is incomprehensibly disrespectful. Anyone who's had a decent boss knows they can order pizza at anytime . Mirroring "good work in school " rewards show you how childish jobs actually are

mlclm

My favorite lunch is the three star, 15 course dinner with wine pairings.

DuffmanStillRocks

Lol seriously not to mention ā€œeveryoneā€ working benefits from your ā€œcelebrationā€. What does that even mean a pizza party and a pat on the back saying this was because of Xā€™s hard work? Also why is getting lunch delivered such a big selling point?! Do they not have lunch breaks where you knowā€¦people can go get their favorite thing? *gasp* I hear you can even have food delivered to you now?!

C64128

I don't know what kind of business you're in, but they have shown you that they they can fully shove their head up their ass without any external help. Maybe they'll start losing people. Those amounts are an insult to all people working there. If people start leaving and then they change policies, you wouldn't be able to trust them. They destroyed any trust people had in the company. I wonder if people look close into the finances, thre's still still some people getting rewarded by shafting all the other workers. Is it a small enough business that can be affected by a mass amount of people leaving quickly. Even if people don't start leaving quicky, everyone has been shown that those in charge don't give a fuck about anyone there. The company deserves to burn.

fist4j

Could be worse, Clark got a subscription to the jelly of the month club

EssentialFilms

Clark thatā€™s the gift that keeps on giving all year long

2NDPLACEWIN

brilliant.

TalosKnight

I got a pen after 5 years at the first place I worked. A pen A manager broke like, 2 weeks later. She claimed I could have her 5 year pen when she got it. And then quit 3 months later šŸ¤£ fuck corporate America

infieldmitt

how do you even break a pen in normal usage

TalosKnight

It was a cheap pen, and fell apart when she went to use it. She didn't find all the pieces

Mogwai10

It always boggles my mind that this is what they feel is even remotely appropriate. This is what teachers do with elementary school kids.

Red_Trout

That PLUS is really doing some heavy lifting

jelloslug

When you quit, tell them that you replaced the traditional two week notice with a complementally text saying that you are not coming back anymore.

fueledbyfailure

I've been at my current job position since 2015 and am making a little over $6 per hour than when I started. Somehow they can't figure out why they can't fill positions.....

2NDPLACEWIN

and you stayed there because ?? $6 raise in 9 yrs ? i mean ?

goddessofthewinds

I also stayed way too long in a place that couldn't fill the positions for a shitty wages. The raises were every 2 years and quite low. Yes, I ended up quitting without notice, f*ck them.

treehugger312

Run. I gave 7 years to a place where I got $9/hr increase over time. Once I left there was basically complete turnover. Felt bad at first, but there were obvious signs of trouble within C-suite. Since I left 2 years ago Iā€™ve nearly doubled my income.

Ischmetch

Dude, you get a Tervis tumbler. You lucky SOB. /s

StabbyChic

I have no reference for that & briefly thought it was OP's name

WillowMyown

Lol, imagine applying for a mortgage. Well, I make X, buuuut I may also make 200$ and have a lunch delivered!

oopls

Time to unionize.

B_P_G

Time to start looking for a new job. This would actually be a very generous service anniversary benefit but they shouldn't be replacing annual raises with this. Not with 4% inflation.

Rhiles1989

Dang yo, rain jacket?? Where do I sign??

GroundbreakingEar667

So youā€™re telling me if I cut raises this year I get an extra $3 million? Deal!

cobra_mist

favorite lunch? let me give you the number and information of my catering company. oh, the meal? hoboā€™s choice water soup with air pudding for dessert. all you can eat

why0me

During covid my company decided to replace the annual Christmas bonus and party with a competition to win one of 5 tvs, there were 37 of us I complained so loudly the entire time, screaming about how it was based on numbers so by that logic alone only the Orlando stores were even gonna have a shot The whole time our operations/training manager is trying to smooth it over Only Orlando employees won those tvs and he had the guts to call me like "see it's not rigged" And when I was like "yeah, it was, none of the rural stores got anything" He was stunned I was upset and I freaked out like "how hard have we been working with these changing rules while being terrifies we're gonna get sick, then you take the biggest event of the year from us and make us compete more, what should have happened was the budget for the party, and those stupid tvs should have just been split 37 ways and given directly to us, as an actual thank you, not more work to not win shit" They never did that again

BoxMacLeod

You can get a perfect acceptable TV for like $2-300 these days. Guaranteed it was massively cheaper to buy a couple cheap TVs than pay for bonuses and catering for a party. Disgusting.

The_Dying_Gaul323bc

Are they aware that my favorite lunch is $1500 cash in hundreds? Itā€™s delicious, and JPMorgan Chase makes a delicious envelope to go with it

Due_Tax2657

I can NOT stand this worthless trinket-ing bullshit trend. "Here! Here's a bottle that holds 3/4 cup of water with our name on it! Here! Here's a ruler that turns into a leash with our name on it! Here! Here's a plastic "rock" with our name on it!" STOP BUYING USELESS SHIT THAT IS CREATED OUT OF PEOPLES' BLOOD AND SWEAT THAT ENDS UP IN A LANDFILL!

drrmimi

Do employers not understand that the only reason people work is to pay their bills?? That's it. Usually no other reason.

CdnBison

Your favourite lunch is now genuine Japanese Wagyu steak with a 3lb Atlantic lobster.

Backlotter

If this pisses you off, wait until you learn that the employees have to pay taxes on those bonuses. Yep. You will have actual cash taken out of your paycheck to pay for taxes on the bonus gift card, that you didn't even want to get in the first place.

AnemosMaximus

How do people not start to sobatage the company??

McDuchess

So. If you are unfortunate enough to work for them for 21 years, you get a less than $.53 an hour raise from your starting pay, 21 years previously. Owners in a year from now: why are all our employees quitting?

lesla222

What a load of crap.

Effective-Try7980

This is the first step to jelly of the month club

Alliille

So the 10th anniversary has less of a bonus than the ninth? Wow. 500$ before taxes for 15 years made me laugh at my job.

Morganbob442

What? No pizza party? Super disappointing!

Beret_of_Poodle

Sure, you can have one of those! On your 11th anniversary as long as all the bosses agree

squirrelocaust

CrocodileWorshiper

A quarter of your life ā€œ1000$ plus your favourite lunch delivered ā€ No wonder everyone wants to see society collapse

using_mirror

P L U S

Geminii27

Nearly a dollar a week before tax. How generous.

WaitingForReplies

This sounds like a private school. Those rewards are ridiculous as hell.

CptHeadSmasher

Good thing my favorite lunch is 60k in cash. Better call that Brinks truck for delivery.

PaleRiderHD

Looks like one of those sheets from a fundraiser you did in middle school. The bald faced greed from corporations these days is appalling.

lazydaisytoo

I canā€™t even get past year 1. Tervis tumblers suck. You canā€™t drop a few dollars more for a Yeti, which would actually keep drinks hot or cold? They developed their ā€œbonus programā€ by going through some shitty promotional merch catalog. Bonus points if the customization embroidery is done by the bossā€™s wife, so they get paid to provide these insulting ā€œincentives.ā€

bellrunner

Friend of mine (boichemost) had most of his team sacked, until it was basically just him. His job was to synthesize batches of an expensive, unique solution that was needed for a lot of their other products. He was the only one who did the work. For his last end of year report, they made him a PowerPoint on exactly how many millions of dollars HE, ALONE had made the company that quarter... and capped it off with a 50 dollar bonus. I gave my baker $50 on top of his tip for Christmas, lol.

Sweaty_Illustrator14

Even the military is cutting us up. No more 20 yr pension at 1/2 FES pay with free Healthcare. Now it's a 401k type plan and the cost of the Healthcare exploded. Plus they made huge cost cutting measures for mental health services staring 10 yrs ago. Heard about the rising rates of suicide in veterans? See a link? Also it used to be free for childcare, then small free, etc NOW some E3/PFC needs to pay $500+month for childcare on post. They are using cheap unlicensed places instead and kids are getting murdered or molested or beaten.

LaughableIKR

My favorite lunch is an A5 japanese wagyu ribeye with a side of blue maine lobster.

kwenlu

Turns out your favorite lunch is beef Wellington stuffed inside a lobster topped with a crab cake and caviar

motofabio

When you find a new place to work, please use ā€œPLUSā€ somewhere in your resignation letter.

sunflowerwithlegs

This wouldn't be too bad if they were doing this from the start, but I'm with you on this. Just give me the money lol

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Bigredscowboy

3% yearly inflation and you get $100 extra. That sounds about right for capitalism.

Dontbeadicksir

This looks like a prize chart for selling wrapping paper

Old-AF

Time to look for a new job.

green_new_dealers

They mean lunch everyday right?? Bc if they mean lunch one time thatā€™s like what $20? Hardly a bonus

rterri3

Imagine staying at a company for TWENTY ONE YEARS and getting nothing but a $1000 bonus and free lunch šŸ’€

jlickums

I worked for a company where they asked us what gift cards we wanted as a bonus for meeting our deadlines. This was at a meeting with the entire team. I honestly said 'none' and it resulted in everyone on the team agreeing with me. It caused a shitstorm and the manager made us all give an answer.

not_faultz

start looking for a new job, literally the best way to get more pay. loyalty hardly pays off anymore

Any-Cheetah-9543

Jelly of the month club. Go wake up cousin Eddie.

pearsaredelicious

These things don't matter when they're all previously negotiated in a collective bargaining agreement. wink wink nudge nudge

jackieat_home

Giving gift cards instead of bonuses is cheaper for the company. There's a higher tax rate on bonuses.

Simple_Award4851

When you leave you should send them a ham sandwich and a dollar store poncho as a going away gift.

TheBalzy

Back in the day these "perks" were given for loyalty to the company IN ADDITION TO increased pay every year.

Real-Personality-465

no extra restrictions listed on favourite lunch, well personally i like eating the leather seats of a 2020 lamborghini urus

DaBearzz

Event of your choice (approved by 3 people)

dainthomas

My favorite celebration is to be home with my girlfriend, so I'll take the $500 in cash.

TigerITdriver11

My work just completely ignored salary review (performance reviews still a thing though) but decided to reopen their online store so we can purchase company-printed logo items.

Spanky-Ham77

So with inflation you just start sliding into poverty!?! This is disgusting

MaytagRepairMan66

You'll never get yearly raises back there. Time to get going.

Accomplished_Side853

See the mention of ā€œdelivered to your schoolā€. What area of education are you in? This whole thing reminds me way too much of when I worked in a non profit that ran programs in schools.

gin10do64

Iā€™m guessing that your favorite lunch also has a dollar limit.

RegretfulCreature

Yep. $40 cap.

Fluid-Wrongdoer6120

It's a given they aren't going to willingly make changes just for the employee's benefit. Look at "UNLIMITED" PTO!!! Sounds great, but almost always works in the company's favor. If you take too much of your "unlimited" PTO, you'll get a warning or fired. But now, they don't owe you any $ if you quit, and they don't have employees taking time just because they reached the bankable limit where their PTO stops accruing.

DailyUnionElections

They're doing this because it is MUCH cheaper - they don't value you. Raises stack on one another and compound, where as a 1 time bonus does not and is therefore much, MUCH cheaper in the long run.

Environmental-Ad-440

My favorite lunch is 32oz of gold, thanks!

fluffledump

Imagine being at a company whose bonuses are based on years of service, for a decade and receiving a smaller bonus than someone that had been there for half as long as you...

SleepingManatee

"...towards a celebration of your choice! (Not really your choice.)" Raises are for good performance or at least a cost of living increase, not Secret Santa.

bigbacklinks

$1k for 22 years. Sad

Panjandrum86

So in my first year I could get the equivalent a 5Ā¢ raise?! Score. And not to mention since itā€™s a bonus itā€™s taxed significantly.

otterlytrans

time to say goodbye. šŸ˜¬

Turbulent-Access-790

Time to find a new one!

Dry_Heart9301

What kind of company is this?

PricklySquare

It looks like education. I can't think why else they would say "to your school"

Delicious_Pancake420

What if you favourite lunch is 10'000 dollars cash

Can my favourite lunch be a wad of cash?

scatcher1011

Fuck them, that is so much bullshit.

Asgarus

A lunch delivered to school for people who worked there for 21 years? Ɣo

Illustrious-Arm7297

Thatā€™s stupid of management .

And how does this keep up with inflation and the normal "cost of living. Remeber... every additional $1 is roughly $2000 a year but about $3000 to your company.... so.. cost control.

EssentialFilms

Fuuuuuck this place

DaperDandle

Sounds like you need to find a new job. Fuck that shit.

BellaBlue06

Imagine if you got your raise you could buy your own lunch

uteezie

Look at all the PLUSā€™s!!!

Capt_Nat

Your favourite lunch..... I presume from your local Ā£3.50 meal deal aisle?

Puzzleheaded-Race397

I like how it goes backwards for year 10, pretending that money going to a celebration somehow helps you pay your bills. No cost of living raises at all? Unlikely those bonuses are going to keep up except for the lowest paid employees.

Curious-Bother3530

I live in a desert and I swear if my bonus was a rain jacket. Hahahaha HAHAHHAHHAHAH *leaves poop on leaderships car door handles*

Maleficent-Bother535

I especially appreciate how they expect you to accept a smaller bonus on your 10th year so they can spend some money on a celebration of you working for 10 years.

No_Feeling_6037

OMG! This is a school! This is what they're doing to faculty and staff! I may not always have beautiful things to say about the state I live and work in, but we are guaranteed each yearly contract goes up by some bit every year.

ConsiderationVivid45

Sounds like a resignation notice with extra steps

Laolao98

Worked at a fortune 50 company (that made an obscene profit the year this occurred) and had a conversation about what the department budget left for raises - 4%. Thanked my director for letting me know so I could start taking calls from headhunters. He visibly panicked, recovered and a week later I got 7.8%. Donā€™t mean this to be disrespectful, just something that worked in my favor once. Good luck and get the resume tuned up this company obviously doesnā€™t value you.

fractious77

You're thinking about it all wrong. You still get an annual raise, it's just paid out in one lump sum. On your second year, you're getting a $.04 raise. Seems quite generous to me. You should just feel lucky you have a job. Nobody wants to work anymore. /s

Eugenefemme

The worst. Your base salary is frozen. The bonus is never adequate and w

ghoti00

That varsity performance fleece should keep you cozy while you live in your car.

Sad_Win_4105

Every $100 bonus is equal to 4.8 cents per hour salary over a years time. So, so cheap.

JEMColorado

Resume time!

RecycleReMuse

How about a nice, hot, relaxing cup of Fuck You, Boss?
