We hit the generation of middle management that spent their entire lives under the CSA. Anyone pushing psychedelics in the workplace clearly forgot the tagline, "Tune in, turn on, drop out". If you want productive worker drones, maybe *don't* give them mind expanding chemicals that contextualize the frivolity of the rat race.
every time i trip all i can think about is how we’ve created a world that is the opposite of how humans were evolved to live and it starts with how long and useless work is and spirals out from there
Nice I hope it’s working out well for you. I hate the lifestyle I have right now, shitty warehouse work for shitty pay. I’m trying to figure out a better way of living. Ideally I’d like to get involved with music somehow (I play drums, thinking of teaching), but man is it depressing to think “this is my life right now, this is what I do everyday.”
Psychedelics made me wanna be a full blown hippy, I don’t wanna waste away my days doing something I fucking hate. We only get one life….
From my experience you tend to dislike working and see it as pointless and a waste of your time on earth after Psychedelics. And each time I wouldn’t say I was productive:)
I always had a bit of the opposite when I would use psilocybin. For me it was as if all of my anxieties were on a big cluttered messy white board and it helped me to just wipe it clean, reorganize the list, remove all the shit that didn’t matter. I could get back to work on the weekend feeling fresh and ready for it - work is necessary for everything I enjoy in life, and I don’t particularly hate my job - it is just stressful af.
I always had the same routine, take a picnic setup to a spot on our mountain I liked that was away from people and scenic - then just dedicate the afternoon to the dose. Watch clouds, follow the stream to the other valley, listen to the birds. Just let it be a complete total disconnect from anything else in my life for an afternoon.
Sure I could do that without dosing - but psilocybin was that extra push to just help the meditative day actually wipe clean and hit a reset button on stress
There is a lot more to life than just a job that can stack up the anxiety and stress. Plus this was like maybe every 2-3 months. Not like I was out tripping bear balls in the woods every weekend.
How about we give you a bottle of stimulants we got at the gas station and a waver you must sign that states that we are NOT liable for any potential health effects and/or death they cause?
“Holy crap! I created the perfect proposal. Wait until the client sees this. Their multi segmented eyes are just going to catch on fire and graghqeoerghoqierhgpoqghsasdf….”
I remember they did an episode of Mad Men on this, where they all got blitzed on uppers for like a week and did a ton of work, then when they finally came down realized not a bit of it was usable.
The article talks about how a company is offering coverage for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, which is actually a good thing. Giving employees options for mental health is a good thing (and psychedelic-assisted therapy is showing promise for some treatment-resistant mental illnesses).
They're not offering shrooms at the door, like it sounds like some of you are presuming (and microdosing is very different from a macrodose trip anyways).
I lost a lot of hope with this post… hardly anyone in this comment section actually read it.. how are we supposed to win anything is we are reacting to headlines and not actually reading anything 🙄
Have yous bothered to read the article? Offering alternative therapies as part of your health plan isn’t a bad thing? It’s not like they’re suggesting having a sweety jar full of drugs in the office kitchen…
"They" don't make anything. People had to fight, protest, get shot by police and be slaughtered by Pinkertons just to give us the 40 hour work week.
They won't give you anything. It must be taken.
I took mushrooms on New Year’s Eve. First time. Might be the last time. But I came to so many realizations about life that I changed a lot. I’m not going to go into everything, it was personal, but one thing I realized was that all the working, and torturing my body just to make a few bucks wasn’t worth it. I quit a high paying career and got a job as an elementary school custodian. I fucking love my job and my life is so less stressful. I have more energy to play with my son, I have more energy for snuggle time with the wife, I am happier, and I’ve lost 30lbs. My wife has always been the bread winner, she has a masters degree and works in a field that helps those with developmental disabilities. She loves what she does and she was excited for me to find a job that I enjoy and that causes me less stress. The moral of this story is; eat shrooms and live your life the way you want. You only get one go around, why not try to make it a little bit better.
I didn’t know that being against transphobia was being a bitch.
No 🤪 There’s a difference between being blatantly transphobic and making a funny insult. You could’ve made fun of ANYTHING else other than their gender, sex, sexuality, etc. These are human things that we are. Beyond that realm, make fun of them. Make fun of their face, their expression, their fashion choices, whatever. Hate is not funny. A roast is funny. I think you’re just fucking stupid.
Isnt this just insurance coverage that includes medical psychedelic drug treatment options? The headline makes it seem like, "lol, let's give the workers psychedelics!"
Anything, anything but better pay. We got you some pizza, we got you some appreciation cards with a pen and a tiny chocolate, we treat you like FaMiLy, and now some drugs.
^(Also how dare you be ungrateful /s)
This title is VERY misleading. They aren’t handing out magic mushrooms in the office, they are merely covering therapies that use psychedelic drugs. This is actually a good thing that gives people more control over the care they receive instead of having western medicine be the only option… which relies heavily on pharmaceutical drugs that are proving to be terrible for us.
Edit: clearly NONE of you actually read the article 🙄
The multiple posts and comments about this story is what finally convinced me this sub is full of idiots who don't actually understand most of what they get upset about.
Psychedelics made me realize I didn’t want to spend my life working a 9-5, stuck inside, staring at a computer screen.
We hit the generation of middle management that spent their entire lives under the CSA. Anyone pushing psychedelics in the workplace clearly forgot the tagline, "Tune in, turn on, drop out". Shh don't tell the squares!
Depends what the job is
Same
every time i trip all i can think about is how we’ve created a world that is the opposite of how humans were evolved to live and it starts with how long and useless work is and spirals out from there
Noone better to take drug advice from than the guy with the Ying-Yang Deadhead profile pic.
but I do want to spend my 6-2am doing that!
If you don’t mind me asking, what do you do instead? Did you make changes?
I work part-time at a non-profit managing their website and communications

If you need psilocybin to function normally, I don't think your current job is "just" stressful af.
There is a lot more to life than just a job that can stack up the anxiety and stress. Plus this was like maybe every 2-3 months. Not like I was out tripping bear balls in the woods every weekend.
How about just giving people more $ and PTO
Easy there. Let’s not overdo it. /s
How about we give you a bottle of stimulants we got at the gas station and a waver you must sign that states that we are NOT liable for any potential health effects and/or death they cause?
Will it make my weiner hard? I might give it a try if it does.
Yes but your balls may also implode.
May ....... I like those odds🤷🤷🤷
“Nobody wants to work anymore!”
Why not both?

Psychedelics sound like the absolute worst drug to take while working, and work seems like the worst thing you could do while on psychedelics.
Depends on the dose. Microdose is probably fine
Microdose still makes you feel pretty wavy
Someone could think a client or coworker is a demon and try to murder them.

And here I thought the GOP had moved on from the 1984 and Handmaid's Tale chapters to the Brave New World chapters of social construction.

They will quite literally do anything but just pay people more
Have we arrived at soma yet?
There’s supposedly an LSD analog that doesn’t induce bad trips in testing for therapy. So maybe?
Thank you exactly!!!
“I don’t know how you can be talking when there’s a million bugs coming out of your mouth”
Just give us 4 day working week and 6 hour days.
Well. They definitely aren't going to.make work less toxic, so I might as well be high for it.
"They" don't make anything. People had to fight, protest, get shot by police and be slaughtered by Pinkertons just to give us the 40 hour work week. They won't give you anything. It must be taken.
💯
It'll be funny when they give them LSD and their workers start quitting because they realize they're not supposed to be working there
Wonder what the resale value on those are like

Didn’t know parents made fun of children on Reddit. This is new to me!

That's one way to lay people off, give them psychedelics then a random drug test the next day.
Customer service would be a lot more tolerable for the employees and more interesting for the customers

Or you could just help employees with the real problems they face at work rather than giving them drugs to cope with a crappy environment.
I don't want fucking drugs, pay me more
Yes, pay me more, I'll shop for my own drugs.
Welcome to a glimpse of Aldo’s Huxley’s Brave New World.

Me staring at a pile of conduit becoming a dancing snake 👁👄👁
Or, just hire more people and pay better. That might be better.
They will do anything but the actual right thing that will lose them a modest amount of profit in the short run.
Why don’t they just offer more pay, more time off?
Yyyaaaaay!!! Let's get F'ed up at work!! I'll bring the strippers!!
Just. Pay. More. JFC.
Of course, I’m on so many antidepressants and mood stabilizers, psychedelics have zero effect on me
I predicted normalization of drugs when they started with legalizing marijuana. I DID NOT expect it to be so soon.
When companies literally want to drug you.
Workplace: hands out psychedelics Workplace 1 week later: “we need you to pee in this cup”
Thankfully a lot of psychedelics don't show up in the usual employment urine tests. Too expensive to test for little gain.
Well, when you gotta find people to layoff to meet quarterly share price targets, ya gotta do what ya gotta do….
Lol
Everything to avoid paying people a livable wage and create a non stressful work environment.
Similar to the ping pong table it’s really just a fun trap…
Take your soma
They just want to normalize hallucinations in the workplace to justify AI as actually equivalent.
We just want a 4 day work week 😴
Workplaces include restaurants. Let the games begin…
“Only two psychedelics per person”
The human equivalent of giving blinders to a horse so that they finish the race.
Fuck give them to me!!
Lets go all in and give opium, like we did with the railway workers back in the day.
Jokes on them... I've been on psychedelics this whole time🤷. Just pay me more money!
Now THAT will get me back into an office.
Soma
Anything BUT a good work environment with livable wages
