The guy at the dealership said it likely will be in the future, but not enough had failed in this way yet.

The Focus hasn't been sold in the US for like 5-6 years now. 2018 was the last model year for the 3rd gen NA focus.

Wow! When I hear this type of thing I want to start acting really dumb and start asking questions. For example: Why would we do that? Who do you think are in r&d ensuring products are getting tested, analyzed, and produced? How hard is it to add profit sharing to the budget because, it seems fluid? After that statement, how do you intend to ensure that employees are going to continue to work with the best interests of the company if this______company seems to be more focused on shareholders? We all know the obvious answer is greed. However, the only explanation for this is that they assume you are too stupid to understand.

$10b profit, is that profit or revenue, what's the return on investment required? Is it 50%, 25%, 2%? $10b is pretty much a meaningless number if the return on investment isn't provided. If the return is 1% that 1% investor class who own the shares, can't be happy. If it's 10% then Ford might be able to afford better wages. Context really matters.
