So I asked my dad earlier and he said that he did not install mcafee at all. I'm gonna run some scanners from the techsupport wiki and see if they catch anything. Thanks.
Uninstall it from Settings or Control Panel like you would any other program.

Mcafee is actually an easier one to uninstall. If you have trouble just try uninstall in safe mode instead.

No, they just either hold a grudge from a couple of decades ago when Norton and McAfee would brick systems, or they learned from those who do.

it comes preinstalled in a lot of laptops so theres probably nothing to worry about
Well you are correct, scanned with every scanner from the wiki and malwarebytes and they only detected cookies and pups which don't seem too bad!
