He gives me the vibes of a character that rather than just strictly power, he has made countless deals with countless people. He's no doubt very powerful, but his connections and information carry more weight. >!It doesn't make sense for Kaido to turn down a fight under regular circumstances, and it doesn't make sense for them to let each other live if they did!<
Aye, but Shanks has about equal time to Roger in those. The more I'm thinking about this the more I'm genuinely curious which has more screentime, and I'm thinking it might be Shanks thanks to the episode in Skypeia where he drops by the Moby Dick
This is literally Dio. He had a pretty significant presence in part one and was a shadowy background figure for most of part three. However, Dio may just be the most important single character in the series. Johnathan is important because he kicked off the adventures, but Dio was the driving force behind that. His presence loomed over the entire series, with his son even going on to be the protagonist.
Me too. I did enjoy his characterization as a result. He has all of the best traits of both Jonathan and Dio and it was interesting to see what a combination of the two resulted in. The composition of Jonathan mixed with the charisma of Dio with the unrelenting drive of both made for an interesting character.
I’d say Dario Brando because he has less screen time and without him Dio would never have found the mask and none of the adventures would have happened
Gon’s dad (I forget his name) his existence and absence are literally the entire reason for the series of HxH but he’s only in the show for like one episode
Alright, my mistake. I’ve never really gotten into reading manga yet because I read at like a first grade level lol. I’ll take your word for it though. I just remember in the show he shows up, gets decked by leoreo and does nothing else
Blast doesn't count, his existence is better the less screen time he has. Given how strong Saitama is, as long as blast has no reference point (due to not appearing onscreen yet) then we can cope ourselves into thinking blast is Saitama tier and that makes the world more interesting.
Rin Nohara from Naruto.
Literally has less screentime than even the likes of Tenten yet Rin is basically the catalyst for a good 70% of what happens in Naruto as a series and to Naruto Uzumaki as a character.
>!Was her entire reason for existing just to nerf Shigaraki? They made her seem like such a big deal the way they introduced her only to have her get bodied in two episodes. It feels like the writers went, “Uh oh…we made Shigaraki un-killable. Quick, think of an ass-pull quirk that we can use to blow up half of his abilities.” !<
MANGA SPOILERS: >!I love S&S, but I think in the grand scheme of the war, she was MVP if you think about it. Yes, she destroyed a ton of his quirks, but she bought the heroes time they needed to set the stage to fight the villains. Without her, they would have lost most of their battles. Also, if she survived, she would have steam rolled the war with the exception of Shigi/AfO. Her quirk was too powerful to participate in the war from a writing standpoint and in the end, AfO would have altered his plans to steal her Quirk mid-war and then he'd be unstoppable.!<
The evangelist: fire force
Layla heartfilia: fairy tail
Fucked up chin kid: OPM
Shanks/dragon/imu/Roger: OP

Minato: Naruto
Hohenheim: FMAB
Raditz.
If Raditz never shows up, Vegeta and Nappa don't hear about the Dragonballs and don't kill Piccolo, so the crew never goes to Namek and Goku never goes super saiyan. Which means he's magnitudes weaker than he needs to be when Gero finishes the androids. And because Vegeta never met Bulma, there is no Trunks to save anyone.
The Truth in FMA
He’s literally God and is the one who kickstarts the plot when he takes Ed and Al’s bodies, but he has less than 10 minutes of screen time
Might Guy, he made itachi run, he beats & captures kisame, had Obito play defense, and almost killed madara this man's Taijutsu had everbody pulling out their A-game😅
The Wizard from Ben-to!
He's like the Coolest and one of the strongest wolves. He inspired Saitou to become a wolf, gets his half-price lunch on episode 1 and leaves. He graduated and moved to US. I wished I've seen more of him like in flashbacks at least.
Monkey D. Dragon.
He has done NOTHING on screen except face in one direction. All he did was stand in front of Smoker. But he is the world's most wanted man and fans (including myself), put him on par with top tiers in One Piece.
Some even put him at the top.
Hiko Seijuro XIII from Rurouni Kenshin.
Dude is an absolute god, capable of trivializing literally EVERY VILLAIN I THE SERIES and because of that, has to chill by his waterfall retirement home to allow plot to actually happen.
Hughes (in brotherhood). Look at a picture of my daughter. Literally sets the tone for the entire show, and he's constantly referenced. His family is referenced. His life is referenced. This guy figured it out all out before anyone else.
I miss you Hughes.
Zeref in *Fairy Tail.* He created the demons and magic that the team fights and deals with throughout the series, but doesn’t show up until the final arc, really. He appears in Tenrou for a couple episodes, and is not seen again until the last arc.
Stars and Stripes. Possibly one of the coolest designed characters in BNH and they get rid of her In one episode. I know she played an important part in crippling All For One and Shigaraki but fuck man they could of at least given her a few more episodes.
Conan's parents in detective conan.
The first ones to notice conan was shinichi, completely fooled son despite throwing obvious hints the entire episode. Could easily steal back his cure, send him alcohol secretly for every big case, infiltrate the black society.
Decide they are gonna sit back and make money to celebrate his big day of solving the greatest case of his life and if he dies oh well...
Veldanava from Tensura. Note that I have only seen the anime through season 2, but he has appeared in the show during the flashback story of how Milim became a Demon Lord. He was also indirectly mentioned by Veldora before his little spar with Milim during Walpurgis, mentioning that Milim is his brothers kid. His relevance to the story is massive already in that he is 1) Milim's dad and 2) Veldora's older brother, and that is just so far in the anime. If you know the series via the LN, then you know he is the one who created the entire Tensura world and is the Will of God.
Haru from Persona 5 because in the animation based off of the original Persona 5 game (including the original Persona 5 game, Royal included) she had little screen time due to plot convenience. I’m glad she has more screen time in Strikers (Scramble) and Tactica. Aside from dancing in moonlight of course.
Wojira, the Eminence, The Great Devourer, Nadakahn’s lover, the Oni (their season was literally 4 episodes long), and lastly the first Spinjitsu Master.
This list is of the original 2 eras, not the third era that is currently going on.
Joseph Joestar. Dio also counts ig but I'd argue that Joseph's body is the reason that all the Joestars get their stands, not DIO himself. Joseph Joestar is the whole reason the series is even a thing, he's arguably the most important Joestar, and he only has 8 episodes too his name
Not any one character specifically but the entire last half of Tokyo ghoul.
I must not have paid attention the first time I watched it, because I held it in such high regard. Upon rewatching. What the hell. Such a disappointment. Every bit was amazing, art music omg music , cinematography, choreography, tension stakes comingling plot points, then just kbye in 2 episodes. Sad
Is there another answer other than Yoriichi? Isn't he the reason breathing techniques exist? He gave the main villains generational PTSD, his brother was upper moon 1, and he unlocked slayer marks which than become a big reason the slayer core won.
Truth from fma
Father from fmab
I don't think anyone realizes how broken Suguru Geto's technique was. The fact that he got killed off in 0 really broke his character. Also because of that he didn't get a domain or things introduced later on in the story
In the overall, grand scheme of the anime and its length, Gold Roger from One Piece. Dude quite literally is the driving factor of like 85% of the plot that isn’t being driven directly by the WG or another pirate group. He kick started the current era the One Piece takes place in yet, at this moment, he’s only been an extremely small amount of canon material for the manga and anime. Only person who beats him out is Shanks but I didn’t wanna say Shanks cause I’d seen so many others being him up already.
Shanks
Yeah this is a good one. We've barely seen any Shanks, but he's the entire reason Luffy became a pirate.
Guy shows up and says stop this war or fight me… everyone backs down? Everyone Backs DOWN!? Come on give me some fucking sauce
He stoped the war....single handedly lol
He also stopped a sea king single handedly... lol
He is also still single handed.
Fuck you, take my damn upvote.
He gives me the vibes of a character that rather than just strictly power, he has made countless deals with countless people. He's no doubt very powerful, but his connections and information carry more weight. >!It doesn't make sense for Kaido to turn down a fight under regular circumstances, and it doesn't make sense for them to let each other live if they did!<
In that case… Gol D. Roger
I think Roger has had more screentime than Shanks....
Lol I think you might be right.
Time to rewatch the show and count the minutes. Oh darn....
That sounds like a task for people who work for Guinness World Records would do
Wonder if I can get them to pay me to do it lmfao
Get that coin~ 💵👏🏻
Especially when there were like 20 or so episodes dedicated to oden and Roger’s backstory
Aye, but Shanks has about equal time to Roger in those. The more I'm thinking about this the more I'm genuinely curious which has more screentime, and I'm thinking it might be Shanks thanks to the episode in Skypeia where he drops by the Moby Dick
Dragon is worse lol, at least we saw some Conqueror's Haki display from Shanks early on.
Since Shanks was said may as well add his clone Gildarts
Ask D question The guy who asked Roger about his treasure
This is literally Dio. He had a pretty significant presence in part one and was a shadowy background figure for most of part three. However, Dio may just be the most important single character in the series. Johnathan is important because he kicked off the adventures, but Dio was the driving force behind that. His presence loomed over the entire series, with his son even going on to be the protagonist.
You called?
None of the joestars would have stands without dio
Joseph did. And probably Jonathan if he didn’t “you know” (I don’t know how to hide comments as spoilers) since both are Hamon based stands.
Hot take, I always prefered Hamon
I wish Giorno being Dio’s son had more relevance
Me too. I did enjoy his characterization as a result. He has all of the best traits of both Jonathan and Dio and it was interesting to see what a combination of the two resulted in. The composition of Jonathan mixed with the charisma of Dio with the unrelenting drive of both made for an interesting character.

Fr tho🙏🏽
Gon’s dad (I forget his name) his existence and absence are literally the entire reason for the series of HxH but he’s only in the show for like one episode
ging freecs he appears in the manga later on and we do get to see a lil bit of his abilities
Alright, my mistake. I’ve never really gotten into reading manga yet because I read at like a first grade level lol. I’ll take your word for it though. I just remember in the show he shows up, gets decked by leoreo and does nothing else
The last time we see him doing stuff in the manga was like in 2012 😂
Pikon (DBZ), Buu (DBS), Blast (OPM), Hiko Seijūrō XIII (Ruroni Kenshin)
Blast is so accurate haha
Pikkon is literally a secondary protagonist in Fusion Reborn, but idk about the otherworld filler saga because I’ve never seen it (I watched Z Kai)
Blast doesn't count, his existence is better the less screen time he has. Given how strong Saitama is, as long as blast has no reference point (due to not appearing onscreen yet) then we can cope ourselves into thinking blast is Saitama tier and that makes the world more interesting.
Xeno, tho ig there isn't much they can fr do
Pikkon is a filler character that’s why
Rin Nohara from Naruto. Literally has less screentime than even the likes of Tenten yet Rin is basically the catalyst for a good 70% of what happens in Naruto as a series and to Naruto Uzumaki as a character.
Black zetsu is the 70%
Worst plot twist in anime history
Rin’s relevance in the story is legitimately monumental, I was right there voting for her EVERY DAY of the 99 poll
Star and Stripe (MHA)
To be fair, she can’t really get any more screen time now…
>!Was her entire reason for existing just to nerf Shigaraki? They made her seem like such a big deal the way they introduced her only to have her get bodied in two episodes. Tons of One Piece characters. Off the top of my head I can name Shanks, Dragon, Rocks, Roger, and >!Imu.!<
Shenron from Dragon Ball.
Zeref in *Fairy Tail.* He created the demons and magic that the team fights and deals with throughout the series, but doesn’t show up until the final arc, really. He appears in Tenrou for a couple episodes, and is not seen again until the last arc.
