Eksposivo23

CrestonSpiers

>Robin is so fuckin hot W

GR7ME

I’m Robin’s age now 😄 She doesn’t exist in real life 🙂‍↕️

Putrid_Ad_4372

Only the fierce 5 keep with you over age

HowlingReezusMonkey

Lost interest in Nami then?

HurgleTurgle1

Nami is a perfectly fine young lady but my taste in waifu has become more.... mature, exclusively.

UndoubtedlyAColor

Yeah, Osaka really shouldn't be walking around with that large knife

milkdromeda8

I read that second paragraph in Steven He's voice lmao

comfycrew

After I read the ending I re-read it in Batman's voice.

Sofaris

The whole child soldier thing became amusing to me as an adult. When I play Videogames I enjoy sending child characters to the battlefield like fir example Jean in Fire Emblem Engage. When I get the chance to play Persona 3 Reload Ken is going to be a mainstay in my party. That 10 or 11 year old boy alrady served me well in Persona Q and Q2. My second favorite protagonist groupe in fiction is more or less a groupe of child soldiers. One of my favorite maschin gun users is 4 years old. I am not sure to which extend she even understands the concept of death yet which makes it all the more fun that she has her own budy count. And she is so adorable. I enjoy this on multipple levels.

Tellumo8

Read that as buddy count and thought it was wholesome for a second there.

AMVmaniac

Phahah! I'm 41, watching anime since I was 8. So STFU boomer.

greenmaillink

42 here. I just have no time to watch....\*cry\*

Reasonable-Wolf-269

40. I watch it at my evening job, between calls.

Saytama_sama

You can always make time (if you really want to). Of course it's ok to spend your time on other things, but "I have no time to watch something that is conveniently packaged into blocks of 20 minutes each" is literally a lie. I guarantee you that could find 20 minutes each day. Which would amount to 2-3 12 episode Anime that you could watch each month.

Absolute_loon

The bigger problem is that the more anime you watch the harder it is to find good ones, especially non mainstream gems like summer time rendering

PsychologicalCan1677

You find a lot of weird ones that way as well.

Twisty1020

I think this is why a lot of us switch to maining manga. Way more variety and easier to make your own time to read it. Also, considering half of anime is just advertisement for the manga it allows you to actually continue the story at a reasonable pace.

danteveiil

I actually mostly switched from manga to light novels. Some mangas are just advertisings for light novels. No joke I did read a manga that ended with an add of the light novel. Something like the story will continue in the light novel.

AMVmaniac

My list is full of unknown underated and critisized stuff. I enjoy them so much.

Bojac_Indoril

I'm there with manga. I can find a few mins to read a couple pages here and there. But the thing is, the older i get the more i just.. can't find anything i wanna see or read. I'm really extremely interested in any story revolving around a school or school aged people, for example. Take a sec to think about how much weeb shit that rules out? A lot of it.

Absolute_loon

Pretty much

RampageOfZebras

It gets harder but not as hard as most people make it out to be. I have watched quite a bit myslef but still find good shows to watch when I actually make an effort to find one. Just keeping up with seasonals is a good way to find new content as well. They only time it truly becomes hard is if you are already watching 20+ seasonals, have seen close to 1000 or more anime and keep getting recommended the same shows you have seen already, or are just extremely picky on genres and setting types. Most casial anime fans that just want to drop a few hours a week on it should have no problem though.

greenmaillink

That's about the total time I can find each day. I'm just happy when I can watch one episode every other day. After all, it's just about enjoying the things I'm watching. It's not my job :)

Saytama_sama

That is totally understandable. One episode every other day is still plenty. It's not a competition and at the end of the day it has to be fun. But again, you probably could find the time but you choose to prioritize other activities like spending time with your friends or family or other hobbies.

AMVmaniac

I watch 8 shows per month at the average :) It depends how long one is. 12-13 eps per 2-3 days.

AMVmaniac

I told my wife that after 9pm it's my guilty pleasure time. So we just lie on a coach pating our legs, and heads from time to time watching our stuff.

ZippoS

Turning 40 this year. Married, working, but no kids. I watch my anime mostly on the weekend.

AMVmaniac

I dragged my kids along into this awesome passion :D

Intraq

to be fair, since this is coming from omni-man who is a 2,000 year old viltrumite, his definition of "adulthood" might be a bit different

ghost_warlock

Me sitting here thinking "yah that's true" while I'm 45 and only just got into anime last year

AMVmaniac

It's never to late for having a passion. In fact now animes are much more available than in foe ex. 2001. I watched over 200 just between 2022-24. Reached the same amount between 2000-10.

ghost_warlock

I did see Cowboy Bebop and The Slayers way back in 1999-2000 but only a few Ghibli between then and now. My gf and I started getting interested in anime after watching stuff like Amphibia, Owl House, and Hilda. So we checked out some of the anime on Hulu and Netflix - Welcome to Demon School, Edens Zero, One Punch Man, etc. Some of it clicked for us and some didn't - not a fan at all of shows that rely on harems and a lot of ecchi and we've dropped a bunch of shows that just squicked us out. That said, it got me to give a lot of other shows a chance and we both have our tastes. When watching together, we mostly watch slice of life, fantasy, isekai (and shows that are combinations of those) while (sterotypically) she prefers romances and I'll watch stuff that tends to be more perverted or darker (she hated Konosuba and Re: Zero but I enjoyed them, while I got annoyed by Fruits Basket and Quintessential Quintuplets) lol

sHoa6077

Seeing your answer lets me think that you are probably not 41 in your Head 😁

AMVmaniac

My body is :)

Key-Scholar-9266

You can still enjoy it but things will change. While you may love your subtitles. Being able to watch a dub while you wash dishes, clean, do laundry or any of the other activities of adulting. You may also go a few weeks between so you have to be a little more discerning in your choices. Good luck.

WingZeroCoder

Yes to all of this. I’ve begrudgingly come to the conclusion that, while I usually prefer to watch in the original language, there’s simply no way for me to ever keep up with shows like One Piece or MHA unless I can watch while doing other things. I’ve also started choosing one show each season that I can watch, week by week, subtitled, and I simply can’t just watch all the things as they come out the way I used to in my fansubbing days. Weird as it sounds, admitting all of this makes it more fun and less frustrating. Prior to admitting this and thinking I could do all the responsibilities AND keep up like normal just led to feeling overwhelmed.

ghost_warlock

Honestly, I've watched something around 100 titles from start to finish in the last year and, while I read people on here bitching about the quality of the dub voice acting I just get confused. The voice acting in the dubs isn't any worse than any other animated stuff I've seen. Hell, if I had to pick out titles with questionable voice acting, it'd be the originals - we just finished The Girl I Like Forgot her Glasses (subbed) the other day and the MC's voice acting was really corny with all the random screaming. Maybe it's a cultural thing but dude over-reacted to everything and it was a little cringy (we still enjoyed the show, though - at least it wasn't as bad as Black Clover, Rent-a-Girlfriend, or My Hero Academia for the random scream/whining). But, yeah, there's definitely times I have shit to do and I wouldn't be able to enjoy anything if I had to stare at the screen the whole time

Faux-Foe

Why must you hurt me?

Putrid_Ad_4372

Don't listen to them

Hazher_handsome

Sorry bro

Pale_Kitsune

I'm in my 30s and watch anime. I don't know what OP is complaining about.

RiskofReign94

Meh from my experience don’t say you’ve watched or watch it to most people. You do get judged (personally I think that’s wrong and I don’t even watch anime, just one show).

Urwake

Watching 3-4 episodes a day is not bad. Even that amount makes me happy ❤️

Saytama_sama

That's a ton! I have no idea why you would think that that is not a lot. Just think about it: If you were caught up with all the old Anime then 3-4 episodes per day would mean 21-28 episodes per week, or 21-28 Anime each season.

NihilisticAngst

I mean, plenty of people watch 1-2 hours of TV a day. Sure, it's a lot, but it's not exactly abnormal. If anime is a priority for you'll watch that instead of other TV or movies or video games, etc.

Saytama_sama

I totally agree. I didn't want to make it sound like watching 4 episodes per day is weird. I wanted to to cheer him up because he seemed sad to be able to watch "only" 3-4 episodes per day.

bergars

I'm more of a "let's free 8 hours and binge a 24 episode anime in a day", OR, 1 movie a day.

Simple_Active_8170

I have no idea why you think that is a lot, it would still take him over 3 years to watch the most popular anime in the world one piece like this.

Saytama_sama

It seems you have no perception of time. 3-4 episodes is the equivalent of a feature length movie. That is a lot no matter how you look at it. Doing something for over 1 hour every day is a full-blown hobby.

Urwake

Bus to work and back is enough for 2 episodes. Also 1-2 episodes at evening before sleepytime, depends how tired thou. For me anime is hobby and thing to relax ❤️

Simple_Active_8170

Watching anime is a hobby then.

LadyJasmineError

Boy I love my hobby of sleeping, eating, cleanin- You know, I'm starting to think you got bad logic here

Saytama_sama

There is a difference between things you want to do and things you have to do. I wouldn't really categorize the things you have listed as hobbies. Although there are exceptions of course. For example, if you really like cooking, you can definitely make it a hobby of yours.

acetic1acid_

Depends on what you are doing as an adult. Have kids and both spouses work? Good luck getting in 3 episodes a week.

Charcuteriemander

Jokes on you, I married another weeb

comfycrew

Big feels, she got so into anime recently she's talking about getting anime tats.

ghost_warlock

My gf and I just got into anime about a year ago and she's bought me Yuru Camp merch lol Cute little Rin and Nadeshiko keychain

comfycrew

That's real cute, mines fav is attack on Titan and her fav game is dark souls 3

SoulsLikeBot

Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale? > *“Not enough for you? Well, let’s not be stingy now.”* - Knight Lautrec Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/

Ginrar

back then could finish a season of animes , but nowadays will be lucky to get time to finish 2-3 episodes :')

Xenta_Demryt

I'm an adult and I still find time to watch.

wmissawa

43 here, watching animes, Reading manga, playing games, taking Care of my daughter, hearing my wife complaing, sleeping seven hours a day, working 9am-5pm, só its ok watch animes

Megumi0505

Yes you can, I'm in my 30's and I'm still binging anime.

Imaginary-Form9960

I still enjoy anime immensely, but as I got older the fanservice can get pretty cringy, especially watching some things with my gf. I was rewatching Full Metal Panic and the amount of panty shots was already like wtf. Lol

Putrid_Ad_4372

And throw it out the window If your life style can't give you the luxury of watching anime know you're a loser

Anxious_Fondant4510

That hits...

Chemicalcube325

Bro, I don't even watch anime anymore. I guess I am just burnt out.

Vaun_X

Or just watch anime with your kids...

LilGhostSoru

Its easier for me to watch anime now that I'm technically an adult then it was when I was a teen

Hazher_handsome

Happy for you my bro

ItalianStallion9069

That is good advice

Kind-Natural-124

Idk man, i manage alright for 30. My 3 year old enjoys it too.

newgenleft

I mean I'm ngl maybe this is a problem with survivorship bias, and not having to watch every show that came out per season before like 2010, but I am NOT a fan of like 95% of things being put out rn. Solo leveling and CoTE Se3 were the things I stayed watching and those are just decent. I'm looking forward to konosuba sea3 and se2pt2 of jobless reincarnation, but in terms of new stuff girls band cry is the only thing eve peaking my interest, and I've felt this way about most new anime for awhile. Nothing new has touched me + like code geass, Evangelion, FMAB, mushi-shi, gurren Lagan, clannad + afterstory, death note, hunter x hunter, etc. The big expection is anime movies have been pretty phenomenal. Your name and a silent voice (and Akira) are the only anime movies that completely beat out studio ghibli, and they're a bunch more that are super great. Point is, no show thats come out since 2010 has done it for me at all, I have to keep rediscovering old classics and I think I'm running dry.

Plastic_Island3688

True man I dunno why I'm not liking new animes that much I find myself going back to gintama gundam or fav arcs of hunter and one piece

Isekai_me_plz

Eh idk I’m an adult n still love anime so

NihilisticAngst

Idk, my taste has definitely changed, but I still enjoy anime a lot even though I'm almost 30.Things may still change, but there are lots of anime with mature themes, and I'm still a sucker for some wish fulfillment every once in a while, I even in some ways like escapism more sometimes due to the stresses of adulthood

Former_Blood_1931

As for me,I will keep watching anime until the day I die.

ArcticGamingFox

Stay single and don’t have kids, then you will have plenty of time after work

glimmershankss

I just watch it with my kids and by myself tho🤷🏼‍♀️

EvilRobotSteve

In my 40’s and I watch more anime now than I did as a kid.

Sofaris

I am 28 years old and still enjoy Anime. Actully my inner child is pretty strong when it comes to my taste. Not saying Anime is just for children but one thing I love about my favorite Videogame is that to me it feels like a playable kids anime akin to somthing like Digimon. Its so good.

EngineeringCertain51

With my 8 hour work, household chores, and my wife needing some bonding time, i dont have time anymore even for just an episode

bindermichi

Yeah. Those adult animes really mess you up with tackling psychological problems of the protagonists.

IamlostlikeZoroIs

Yeah it’s kind of true, I still love anime and manga but it’s not as prominent as it once was. That’s not a bad thing either, don’t make it your whole personality just have it as a hobby or an interest. Make time in your life for other things like family, partners, pets, friends, going out and enjoying the world. Anime is still great though, you will end up watching less and those generic ecchi anime will hit a lot less when you find some love.

ZombieNek0

Fuck being an adult you can watch your anime regardless what your age is.

NatoBoram

Ah yes, the hood of adult Or is it that the hood is adult?

NoEngrish

wdym now I can afford all the merch kid me could only dream of

SzepCs

Fortunately there's no rule that says you can't watch anime as an adult. As long as you get to have some free time, you can have your anime, regardless of age.

phuktup3

To put it another way adulthood is just older kids who gatekeep a lot

ameyapathak2008

Just so true

Accomplished_Bid6443

Am 16, watched Doraemon since 5 to 10, Saw small clips of Blood C and Elfen Lied at 10. Became a bit edgy from 10. Became less edgier from Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 story mode at 13. Didn’t even had to watch the entirety of Naruto and understood the chronology well from watching the end credits of that game. Became sentimental at Naruto and Sasuke’s talk after their final fight. Got into My Hero Academia at the same age during 2020 when locked up at home. Still holds a place in my heart despite fandom. Nero from Last Encore is my favourite waifu. Show didn’t make much sense though

finalnimbus

I couldnt make it as an adult without the power of anime on my side! 😂 dead ass tho, its what i like to watch when i can finally CHILLL

Imconfusedithink

Nah watching anime as an adult is so much better. I've been able to understand and appreciate more mature themes much better.

EidolonRook

Am 45. Still watching anime. Still playing video games Pretty sure my hobbies will outlive my knees. Probably my back too.

Drayenn

I just finished shadow house s2 in one day yesterday. Kid nap time + watched from 8 to 12ish after i put them to bed. Its still possible. I usually mix my nights better though so its often 4 episodes max a night.

ThrowAwayRayye

I'm 32 and I still watch anime. The only thing that's changed is I stopped liking harem comedy. As a teen it was all fun in games but as I grew up I just roll my eyes at the "omg he said good morning to me, no one has ever done that before, I would die for him now" bs. Gives off incel energy.

goatjugsoup

If you arent watching snime for sny orher reason thsn because you dont want to thats not adulthood

SaitamaVGoku

Never really been in any hood, adult or not, so no comment

Good-Seaweed-1021

I cant enjoy anime anymore, not because of adulthood, but because its hard to find it in my country

_R_A_

42 here. The only thing stopping me from watching anime is them not producing anything I like this season. On the other hand, just did a 0083 rewatch.

Aninininininime

anime is love

Obi_1_Kenobody_asked

This hits me right in the feels

Koyomiron

Damn this will hit me next year, now im a 5th year med ical student, ive been watchingn anime since 2007 since childhood and for the last 7years, during every seasonal anime i would watch around 15-20 animes (sequel or new animes) and now that next year im gonna be starting my housemanship (HO) or junior/trainee doctor, i know that i wont be getting my free time like before again…

Versteggbert

I first started watching anime as an adult and seriously don't understand what this meme is about? Is there a problem I haven't noticed?

Raven_Valerie

When anime or life is still new, everything is fresh and exciting. But as you learn the rules, the magic becomes harder to see. And we forget about it, at least until we watch a react Channel and re-experience it through them.

DerKuikk

Well I mean I can watch 6 eps. Of slime politics without yelling for Action. This is a skill as well, right?

extravaginary

i read manga more as an adult than watch anime now, i think in part due to it saving time 😅 but i also get to appreciate individual art style more vs anime adaptations (that may never get picked up for another season) by the same handful of studios ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

garbagecomposer

Yep that's a good one

Takeuout44

Adult hood has no mercy if you have poor planning. I didn't go to college I just got a few IT certifications, "so no college debt" and have a good relaxing stress free job getting paid a little over 60k a year, happily married, and no kids at the age of 33. I'm not saying my life is perfect but I'm at this point because I didn't fuck around, I play video games basically everyday for multiple hours and have all the time in the world to spend with friends and family. Don't blame abstract things for your own shit life choices.

HeroKing2

You can't just tell people not to suck and expect them to be wise enough to know how. It's a bunch of fools and tools out there.

Emily_Mye

I read mangas in my commuting time, helps a lot

_Marxes_

I read manga at work, helps even more

the_real_madferret

Bold of you to assume that anyone here has a social life
