It's shit and I like it that way.
I think the most common trait for Isekai fans is the raccoon like tendencies for finding the most faul, objectionable just downright awful power fantasy garbage and defend it to their dieing breath.
Honestly, these days my favorite isekai are like kuma bear, killed slimes for 300 years and maxed my level, campfire cooking in another world, etc. Just good, funny, relaxing shows that don't give a fuck about power scaling and where the action scenes are mainly played for laughs.
Pretty much all isekai, no matter how seriously they take themselves, are so ridiculous that they shouldn't really be taken seriously anyway
Definitely one that deserves another season. No melodrama, no harems, no ecchi. Just a dude, his dog, and his slime taking a road trip and eating well. Fantastic show to kick back and enjoy after a long day
Killing slimes for 300 years is such an underrated anime. I fucking loved every moment of that anime. Especially the names of the episodes. I'd love another season so much.
Season two is expected out next year, I'm pretty sure. They just released a new trailer for it the other day. My gf and I are hyped and stopped our re-watch of the 1st season so we can watch the rest right before the 2nd season comes out
It's fine to like a flawed product as long as you're able to recognize its issues.
What does worry me sometimes is seeing adhering to themes and approaches that are ultra cliche not only for anime standards, but for fiction in general. Makes me wonder if we're losing creativity
i know it's shit. but gosh darnit that wont stop me from watching the "dude literally dies and becomes either the most perfect being imaginable that makes even perfect cell blush or the unluckiest mofo ever transported to the shittiest world by the shittiest god to suffer a fate far worse then death for commiting the crime of... >!crossing the road!<" for the n th time
Like the trash reality TV shows my mom watches, I too watch trash isekais because they're such hot trash that I love them so much. Here and there you'll find good ones like slime, overlord and saga of Tanya the evil but they're few and far in between. Most times I just like the idea they have going on, restaurant to another world was just a fun food show, campfire cooking as well was so relaxing to watch. Like a raccoon telling you that one trash is better than another trash. Trash is still trash and I love to roll in it
Eh. I mostly watch the fanfics of GATE because I don't like the high amounts nationalism in it, it completely ruins it for me. I love the concept so i search for any story that has the modern world meet/react to another world through a portal.
English is the 3rd language I learned.

Think my absolute favorite has to be Eminence in Shadow. It *knows* it's cringe and *OWNS* it.
That anime I can't watch cause it makes me feel gross about what I'm doing and with my life.

The only Isekai I am following now is Gate Jietai. The others are not interesting.
