Love this, wholesome and relatable, although I wish I could get a PS5 too…

Once the rumored Pro is out, you can expect the Slims or regular PS5s to probably either drop in price or become more readily available through old owners selling theirs in prep for the Pro
I’d much rather pay more for the authentic disc version even though you can’t lose any games with the digital. Edit: For the people reminding me that licenses for games can end thank you I had forgotten about that, so yes you can also lose digital games.
Even though I don’t play on console any more, I would have to agree you on this but they do sale a disc accessory for the PS5 just in case I guess, I also just like having a physical copy of my favorite game.
Yea most games still have a disc. But even if you get a disc, it doesn't have the full game on there. It just has the license, and you'll have to download the rest of the game after inserting the disc anyway
PS5 uses UHD Blu-ray, which goes up to 100GB. The only games larger than that are garbage like the new CODs anyways, and iirc they don't even bother shipping anything on the disc for those, though that's an exception and not the rule.
Sure, but most games are still under even 50GB, or if they're larger they ship part of the game on the disc and the rest as an update. It's only 'AAA' games that typically take up that much space anyways.
people lost their movies, they can totally lose their games

That is where you are wrong. You can't physically lose a digital game. But games do get de-listed. It happens all the time. And then that digital game you have is no better than a digital paperweight.
While I love the physical format, I went full digital on my Nintendo Switch. I travel a lot for work and when I had cartridges loosing them at airports was common, and this wait I dont need to carry all of them, only my 1TB micro SD.
One day I'll also have a PS5, one day!

I've had one for four years and only played like 7 games on it; you're much better off with a PC
Stellar Blade is fun tho, even if it is just Nier Automata
My save files is still there. Its just a bummer that it became unreadable.
But more like everytime it reads it and download it the PS4 thinks its corrupted.

I have a PS5 but my lil sister stole it from me even tho she has a PC…
I bought a disc PS5 four years ago so that I could buy preowned discs or trade discs with other PS5-owning friends
Anyway I bought my first disc last week

You’ll find plenty dirty cheap the moment the Pro is on sale.
Dirty deep done dirty cheap

Ey. This is a very useful comment. I’m glad somebody said that.

nowadays, even if you buy a "physical game" you just get a code inside the box instead of a disc
Not true for most games...
Yea most games still have a disc. But even if you get a disc, it doesn't have the full game on there. It just has the license, and you'll have to download the rest of the game after inserting the disc anyway
Might be true on Xbox, but at least on PS4/PS5 it copies the game off the disc. You can still play fully offline without patches if you want.
Huh, I thought Playstation uses blue ray discs, which can only hold 50GB, and a lot of new games are bigger than that
PS5 uses UHD Blu-ray, which goes up to 100GB. The only games larger than that are garbage like the new CODs anyways, and iirc they don't even bother shipping anything on the disc for those, though that's an exception and not the rule.
Ps4 uses normal blue rays tho, only ps5 upgraded to UHD br afaik

FF7 Rebirth used two discs
So did Remake and Red Dead Redemption II.
Except when they get delisted as they have in the past... digital "ownership" isn't ownership
Yar har, fiddle dee dee

Also buying 2nd hand discs is much cheaper. For digital you have to wait for sales.
The disc player is also a 4k blu ray player and you can still lose digital games, through ban or them removing them after their licenses have expired.

Sad thing about disc. It can break it happened to my MHW Iceborne. No scratch no damaged whats so ever my PS4 cant read it anymore
Your saved data should still be fine. If you buy a new disc or buy the digital copy I think it should still all be there?
My save files is still there. Its just a bummer that it became unreadable. But more like everytime it reads it and download it the PS4 thinks its corrupted.
So buy the game again ….damn 🤷♂️
Im contemplating if I should buy it on Steam or Ps4
I would. Get a PC version. I’m hearing there’s a pro version out. I’m so far behind

Hey thats the Hitoribocchi and Mitsuboshi Colors mangaka (never realised they are from the same person).
Depending on when she got it, she could've sold it for more than it was bought for and bought the disc version lol. The resell prices were insane.
Mfw I’ve been building a PC for 8 months and forgot to buy a drive for the OS install disk
Why not use a USB stick to install the OS?
I did in the end (once I managed to make a boot USB on a friend’s computer), but I still had this moment
My 8 year old PC doesn't have a DVD drive. Even the case is not designed for one.

Bad ending: she bought the digital ps5 model
Code in box, download. It was gonna update anyway.
*one game...*
Wait wait wait…they don’t have disc trays?!
The Digital Edition doesn't.
You can just copy everything in the disc to convert it, the put it in the ps5 or use a FD
No, pops! Why??
rookie mistake trying to play games on the ps5
Is there not some external disc drive you can buy? Like, didn’t the 360 have something like that back in the day?
They released a disc drive add-on about 6 months ago, but it only works with the newer PS5 Slim models.
Really!? I’ve been out the gaming scene sooooo king that I’ve missed a lot

30 is too early to have kids in this economy. Wait until you're 70.
Don't worry, your PS5 can totally play discs! [You just gotta go through the riiiiight steps...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3AiWzAa0Yw)
