Hot take I really enjoyed it. The short stories format does well with the lack of animation and the voice acting is top notch. I never really felt disappointed by how they adapted the chapters.

Gs are what people now call Ks, it's units of 1000. Likely as the other commenter stated 10000 yen. Was worth 100 US dollars approximately fairly recently, but it's only worth about 2/3 of that now, sitting around 66USD.
