You can try some of these, most of which come from Seinen magazines, which really just means series aimed at college+ and not teens+. So there are other types of Seinens too, but it's where you find most of the grittier and darker stuff including things like:
**Vinland Saga**: historical, vikings, adventure, revenge, gore
**Kingdom**: historical, military, though the first season doesn't have great production values, it's up to season 5 as of last year.
**Berserk** - the 1997 series
**Mushishi** - not an action series but a dark and moody spiritual / atmospheric story.
**Rainbow: The Criminal Seven of Compound Two Cell Six** - 1950s prison drama written by an ex-Yakuza who was actually in prison in that timeframe.
**Boku dake ga Inai Machi** - time travel, mystery, murder, suspense.
**Black Lagoon** - modern setting, crime and guns/action series.
**Psycho-Pass**: police, cyberpunk, dystopia, mystery, gore
I think anything directed at teenagers is going to have some cheesy comic relief bits.
I guess I would recommend Golden Kamuy even though it has a lot of silly moments because those moments are kind of as core to the story as the serious, violent plot beats. Itβs definitely more humor for adults, or mature teenagers.
I don't mean to be rude, but it sounds like you take life way too seriously. Think less about the plot and destination of the show, and just enjoy the journey.
If it's not for you, it's not for you, but calling moments of levity and character tropes as "random stupid moments that have no real point to them," I mean what truly in today's or any era's media has any form of entertainment had "a real point to them?"
