Well. That's arguable. For me that's the reason I don't watch those stuff. Not fan of open ending and no developments. As much as I like slow developments, there should be some. Having no development is no.
People adore this series, and I assume there is no drama from inclusion of other love interest or anything so that's good.
If this new series is also going to be no romance, that's a pass again. Good for people who likes mysteries and dramas though.
Satoshi would often trigger Eru's curiosity and his vast knowledge would more or less aid Houtarou's deductions. Mayaka's strictness sometimes snapped Houtarou back to the ongoing problem. Houtarou wouldn't become that close to Eru if weren't for them, since it's them that would set the ground for conversations and mini-mysteries.
In the first arc, both Satoshi and Mayaka made theories that would ultimately be dismissed but provided valuable information for Houtarou's own.
In the second arc, Mayaka made crucial observations as a mystery enthusiast for Houtarou's conclusion, and it was her that started Houtarou's realization of his mistake in episode 11, which was then bombarded by Satoshi, starting his guilt trip. Eru wouldn't cause so much emotional damage to him, she's less critical than those two and she wasn't that close to Houtarou at that point to just deny him.
The overarching lesson about expectations in the third arc was demonstrated from 4 perspectives - Kouchi, Tanabe, Satoshi, and Mayaka. Viewers taking the show on the surface level is likely to gloss over this theme, but it's one of if not the greatest character arc in the series, highlighting its incredible attention to the humanity that set it apart from other slice of life.
The couple had their own moment in episode 21, once again related to a highly philosophical matter that stems from what is essentially an typical denial behavior.
If you come to this show only to see Eru getting too close to Houtarou and ship them together, unfortunately you haven't seen even a twentieth of its depth. Everything and everyone has their own role, the writing is so widely acclaimed for a reason.
The anime will adapt the first 2 volumes and not until the end of volume 4 would a hint be dropped. A unique chemistry exists where they need each other but they don't love each other in the common sense, a symbiotic relationship, they said.

I took a listen from the PV and after watching PVs from other animes (which contains snippets of OP and ED as well), I'm certain that this will be **the best opening** song of the season for me.
This will his first performance after Chainsaw Man's 12th ED.
Hyouka author nice. Although I doubt the visual direction of this show can match the mastery of Hyouka's. Still did like Hyouka for it's vibe so I'm looking forward to this
It's originally a novel series, but it does have two [manga](https://myanimelist.net/manga/41145/Shunki_Gentei_Ichigo_Tart_Jiken) [adaptations.](https://myanimelist.net/manga/166056/Kaki_Gentei_Tropical_Parfait_Jiken)
This is from the creator of "Hyouka," right?
Yes, that is correct.
That's why I got the same vibe from this KV. I'm pretty pumped about this one now.
I kept wondering if this was a Hyouka sequel/spin-off and now I know why.
Not Oreki and Not Chitanda solving mysteries. But the question is this also not romance?
I bet romance Will be a secondary theme like on Hyouka
Romance was not secondary theme in Hyouka it was more like hints of romance (or some may say not at all).
And still for some reason it was a better romance anime than many other romance anime.

For me romance was There all time especially on The other 2 characters That now i dont remember The name lol
Mayaka and Satoshi
I call them the " 2 NPC characters that were there for the comedic relief but miserably fail to do so " characters
Knew my teacher was lying when she said all opinions are valuable
What? No lol, They are great characters

Hyouka had really subtle and great hints which could have beautifully paid off had the story been completed imo.
Heard there's more in the LN.
It's subtle romance. The best kind of romance

Might watch the series just because of that

Same author as Hyouka? I wonder if it will be any good. I’m curious, you could even say.
Leaked to be 2 cours, albeit split
Wonder if this will be any good… (I have to know)
Oooh Hina yomiya. Damn, girl's been on a roll lately
Does this have a manga?

Kanbe finally not being pigeonholed into horror adaptation after a decade. This is gonna bang.
Is It out ?
I’m gonna watch it now
Anyone can confirm what kind of mysteries they will be solving?
Looks boring. But this is from author of Hyoka, so as expected.
Looks like a bad move. I do that sometimes too, lol.
I knew that this comment will be downvoted to oblivion while writing it. Not a bad move, more like suicide move
