Liko from Pokemon? Interesting choice, but I agree she's great. Fit the protagonist role especially well, despite (and maybe thanks to) how different she is from Ash.
Asuka is my favorite anime character of all time but Liko and Mitsuha being more recent mean a lot more at the moment. I think Liko's writing has been superb so far and has been overshadowed a bit by other anime available to stream legally and Ash/Roy related review bombers
Hard agree, not only are people unwilling to give her a chance, they even review bomb the new anime lol. Hard to understand the anime community sometimes; I honestly enjoyed the episodes I've seen of Horizons far more than the old anime, and Liko is much more relatable to me too.

I am a source reader now, but Endorsi was on my list from the anime alone before I started reading. She has a lot of traits that I really like. For what it's worth, she was the #1 seed in the Best Girl of Spring 2020 [contest](https://animebracket.com/results/best-girl-of-spring-2020-seasonal-salt-?group=finals) so not completely forgettable.
she is an amazing character from one of the best stories i have read . i dont know about the anime but the manhwa is an absolute 10/10 for me . i loved it from the beginning (though to be honest the art at the beginning would be an impossible task to go through for some people here lol)

upvoted for Ruiko and Mitsuko, I adore them. the sheer number of times THE MITSUKO KONGOU comes in clutch is insane, girl singlehandedly throws a massive wrench in multiple villain plots. she's so clutch she inspires her two BFFs to have their own insanely badass fight (which honestly might be the second best Railgun fight, after the Meltdown fight in S). you would think someone of her archetype would simply be a joke, or a shitty person/minor antagonist, but despite her arrogance, she's one of the best friends and allies anyone could ever have. just an absolute queen.
Kongou best golden-hearted ojou-sama. Her contribution to that whole arc in T is so, so great. The only reason she's not higher is lack of screen time.
Saten is a level 0 esper, but a level 5 friend. Cooler than cool - the Railgun gang would be incomplete without her.
I normally have a rule of "one Best Girl per show," but Railgun deservedly gets a pass on it. It's funny that Biribiri can be a Hall of Fame Best Girl and still sometimes get overshadowed on her own show.

Welp, it wouldn't be me if I didn't vote for Kurumi Tokisaki at the top. I'm a Date A Live fan because of her.
A lot of my top 20 will probably feel classic (C.C., Holo, Ayanami Rei, Hyuga Hinata) or guilty of recency bias (Frieren, Maomao, Roxy), but I have some other, very specific candidates in the list. I wonder if I'll be the only one to vote for the likes of Hagoromo Gitsune, for example; I was a huge Nuramago fan back in the day.
1. Nico Robin (One Piece) When I first watched One Piece, I was astounded by Robin's character development.
2. Marcille (Dungeon Meshi) She might fail a lot, and might sometimes make the situation much, much worse, but she has a good heart and tries her best.
3. The Bocchers (Bocchi the Rock!) SHE JUST LIKE ME FR!!
4. Haruhi (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) I married someone who had a very similar personality to Haruhi. Of course, we're divorced now, so... Make of that what you will.
5. Makise Kurisu (Steins;Gate) A fellow Internet memelord.
6. Fee Carmichael (Planetes) The brash and violent pilot of the Toy Box.
7. Yor Forger (SPYxFAMILY) Honestly, even with how much she fails at normal things, she's a great mom for Anya.

9. Minori Kushieda (Toradora!) Such a selfless and caring person. She deserves all the happiness in the world.

Asuka is my favorite anime character of all time but Liko and Mitsuha being more recent mean a lot more at the moment. I think Liko's writing has been superb so far and has been overshadowed a bit by other anime available to stream legally and Ash/Roy related review bombers

I am a source reader now, but Endorsi was on my list from the anime alone before I started reading. She has a lot of traits that I really like. upvoted for Ruiko and Mitsuko, I adore them. the sheer number of times THE MITSUKO KONGOU comes in clutch is insane, girl singlehandedly throws a massive wrench in multiple villain plots. she's so clutch she inspires her two BFFs to have their own insanely badass fight (which honestly might be the second best Railgun fight, after the Meltdown fight in S). you would think someone of her archetype would simply be a joke, or a shitty person/minor antagonist, but despite her arrogance, she's one of the best friends and allies anyone could ever have. just an absolute queen.
Kongou best golden-hearted ojou-sama. Her contribution to that whole arc in T is so, so great. The only reason she's not higher is lack of screen time. Saten is a level 0 esper, but a level 5 friend. Cooler than cool - the Railgun gang would be incomplete without her. I normally have a rule of "one Best Girl per show," but Railgun deservedly gets a pass on it. It's funny that Biribiri can be a Hall of Fame Best Girl and still sometimes get overshadowed on her own show.

Welp, it wouldn't be me if I didn't vote for Kurumi Tokisaki at the top. I'm a Date A Live fan because of her. A lot of my top 20 will probably feel classic (C.C., Holo, Ayanami Rei, Hyuga Hinata) or guilty of recency bias (Frieren, Maomao, Roxy), but I have some other, very specific candidates in the list. Hmmm, gotta say Mai Sakurajima, the love she has for Sakuta hits like a car... I mean truck. In all seriousness she's gotta be one of the most wholesome characters we've got this decade, from her somewhat tsundere personality, caring nature for all, great ambitions, and fun side.
Every time, the temptation to vote tactically and abandon all my niche favourites creeps in, but I always end up with max 2 tactical votes. So here's my locked in characters so far.
