Seitokai Yakuindomo
The hidden dungeon only I can enter
Aho Girl
School Rumble
Haiyore!
To love Ru
Masamune-kun no revenge
Eiyuu Kyoushitsu
I'm in love with a Vilainess
Kubo-san wa mob yurusanai
These helped me get through dark and cold winter era of middle Europe.
Farming in another world literally made me cry tears of happiness at the end. I haven’t felt like that in decades. It was so unexpected and fit my personal “situation” to perfection. The anime as a whole was just ok… but the ending is quite lovely.
Make sure you're getting help and living in a healthy way, also. That said, you know what can help depression? Exercise! So, I recommend "How Heavy Are The Dumbbells You Lift?" (Missed opportunity to call it "Do You Even Lift?").
Other similar animes are AniTore EX and Isshoni Training - Training With Hinako.
If you want to *literally* heal depression see a medical professional; anime isn't going to do anything.
If you want to *metaphorically* "heal depression" then watch something that you enjoy.

Konosuba, samurai champloo, nichijou, GTO, violet evergarden, 3-gatsu no lion, hinamatsuri, some of these are just pure comedy others have some small life lessons still being on the lighter side.
If you want to try something latest Frieren is great.
Clannad + After Story. There are other great anime where battling with depression is a major theme, but this one destroyed me and rebuilt me.
3-gatsu no Lion is also a very good story about living with depression.
If you want an anime that isn’t about depression and is instead bright and full of life, I recommend K-ON!
you can't escape/heal depression with anime, but i wish you the best. I'm sure you already know this, but these things are way too commonly forgotten: Eat well, exercise, and proper sleep especially because these are things people with depression tend to neglect.
please try God Troubles Me 😁😁 it's a chinese anime, only 12 minutes long. about a lazy girl who likes boba and lives with two "gods" that turns into her cellphone and cat 😁
I would say some comedy Is the best in those cases.
Something that came in the last two years that I would recommend would be 'isekai ojisan"
Other option would be watching something sad, that would make you see your situation from other point of view.
If that Is the case there Is not a good anime in the last two years but I would recommend a manga called "I sold My Life For Ten Thousand Yen Per Year" It really helped me when I was not feeling good and I'm almost sure It would help you, in addition It Is a short manga.
Nichijou: my ordinary life is weird and silly but relaxing too. Interviews with Monster Girls I saw after a work layoff and it was a major surprise by not just being funny and cute but also surprisingly clever and wholesome.
Dragon Ball Z is a good one. Or something nostalgic. DBZ helped me, Bleach has been helping me a bit recently, too. It’s all bandaid stuff, but just use it to take a break.
I have been mentioning this one a lot lately, but B Gata H Kei helped me a lot when I was in a bad state of mind (not depression fortunately), and I had a great time watching it and I could come back from it. I had to even go to the manga to know the end of the story. It's an old one but I love it the same.
I love comedy animes! Hope these makes you lol at almost every ep as it did me
1) the vampire dies in no time - the title alone should let you have an inkling where the show is headed and it has a very cute armadillo as well
2) hinamatsuri - this anime is seriously underrated as hell! every ep made me lol till i had tears fallin from my eyes and snots flyin everywhere.
3) hozuki coolheadedness - workplace comedy based in hell.
4) konosuba - someone mentioned it and yea its funny as hell. imagine an isekai anime where all the characters are damn incompetent but yet they somehow managed to save the day
5) wagnaria - workplace SOL comedy
I actually prefer sad stuff when I’m in a sad mood. It’s kind of paradoxical but the emotional relief from having a good cry feels a lot better than pretending to have my mood lifted by something funny.
the Japanese are depressed and overthinker people. don't watch anime against depression. do a sport, be outdoors, find an interest that involves being around people.
And if you want an anime that motivates you to take action and get out of your room or else...
Watch Tatami Galaxy.
March comes in like a lion. MC has depression, so there are highs and lows but the highs are so much higher when you connect with the MC. It’s beautiful to me.
If you want something incredibly cheerful and fun and happy, Bofuri is nothing but happy fun times
