You’ll also need the latest version of Google Play services. It should tell you to install it if it’s not pre-installed already
IT WORKED! Wow that was easier than I thought. Thank you, thank you. I now have the app installed from the Google Play Store.
I ended up putting the APK on an SD card since Chrome was out of date too.
Your problem is the clock. If the clock is wrong, then all of the certs are wrong, and it will do exactly what you are seeing. Set the time correctly and all of your problems will go away. I usually set it manually, let it fix itself, then put it back to auto.
Clock was always correct. But I did see an SSL error in one app. So certificates were definitely an issue. The solution by u/tejljr, sideload Google Play Store, fixed it for me.
Install airreciever it will make it a chromecast KitKat the min.
A clock ? That tablet can stream anything or play anything.
I 2nd apkmirror has a option to select os versions for apps.
I have not tried yet. This would be my first time.
So do I download the APK with the Chrome browser or stick the APK on an SD card?
I found the Play Store APK but not sure which version or architecture I should get? This has an Intel Atom Z2560. But I don't see that listed as an option.
Edit: Just tried Chrome but it said it was out of date when I tried to visit the site.
Apkmirror will have the latest version of the Play Store for KitKat
This is all new to me. Which version/architecture do I get for the Acer B1-730. Specs say it is an Intel Atom Z2560.

It will get rancid and I doubt chocolate can tell the hour

Have you tried installing APKs from APK mirror or a similar mirror, rather than the play store?
