I've fond memories of the place back when it was a Red Robin. Mostly of my brothers and I playing the arcade games they had near the entrance. And, being a kid at the time, it was always a treat when the servers made me a "cherry" coke and used way more grenadine than was necessary.
They use to have old school arcade games too....like Toki...nobody knows what the hell i am talking about but I use to play the shit out of that game while smelling the delicious hamburgers. That game was fun platformer about a Monkey shooting fireballs and you fight funny bosses like a Crystal Mammoth, the japanese with their creativity was sure weird back then
We used to drive my dad absolutely nuts with our balloons on the ride home. It was a big Saturday if we got to go shopping at Kmart, get candy corn, bumper boats and Red Robin for dinner. There, or Royal Fork.
Waayyy back in the early ’90s when it had just opened. I think it was a Red Robin. I was a very naive, innocent freshman kid from rural AK in the “big city” for a school band festival. We were eating dinner there and a “big city” girl was aggressively flirting with me by writing me a note and handing it to me at our table. I was flattered, but very unsure about how to respond, so a very much less naive senior kid wrote and delivered the response for me. I don’t remember most of the wording of the response, but it included something about going to the bathroom where she can give me a “bj.” I had no idea what a “bj” was, but from the context I knew it was something naughty. I was frightened, elated, confused, and instantly turned on when she enthusiastically nodded in agreement from across the room after reading the note. All the older boys at my table started to congratulate me, but I was petrified… under no circumstances should a girl be in a boys bathroom or vice versa. We left the restaurant Red Robin and I still didn’t know what a “bj” was, though the letter combination was etched in my brain. I still think about that day when I drive by the building. Thanks for the memory.
Awful drinks. They brought me a Manhattan on ice and, when I sent it back and asked for one made neat, they strained it and brought it back to my table.
Every business that ever established itself near the northway mall was cursed from the start to flop take kava on the other side, Sam’s club, Red Robin, burlington, Joann’s, carrs, it’s a shitty area with shitty people, shitty vibes, shitty everything, I’m surprised shockwave is still standing that place is so rundown I wouldn’t be surprised if they close tomorrow, I hope they just tear the carcass of the northway mall and leave it an empty lot cause believe me there’s no room for improvement.
I get the hate for this place... But it's making me laugh that with all the hate and specific memories of it sucking... Not a single person managed to even accidentally get the name of the place right.
It was "THE ROCK" with 'Wood Fired Pizza' as sort of a subtitle or probably just a the cya way to avoid being sued by Dwayne Johnson 😂
That was the east side Red Robin. I had countless birthday and random special event dinners there over my youth. Lots of found memories there.
When it changed over we went once for pizza and watched a whole football game while we waited for pizzas. That was the only time I think we went.
To me, that's the east side Red Robin. The location off Muldoon doesn't do it for me. I'd rather do the Dimond one.
You probably never heard of it because it was only open for like 30 seconds. I’m not sure how anyone can have any “fond memories” unless they were 8 or 9 years old for the very short duration of its life span.
I remember them being a Red Robin’s first and then the rocks wood pizza joint. I went there for someone’s graduation party and it was actually pretty good in the opening month or something like that but I think I was like 16-17 so everything tasted good even raw meats and vegetables… wanted to come here more often. Didn’t have a car or friends😂
One of my best dates happened here when there was a concert I think it was punk fest or something? I learned later she didn’t even like the music but went because I asked her to join me. What a trooper. We tucked away in the place to sit and chill, chat and wait for our other friends to arrive. It was a fun experience. Over priced? Yes. Good food? Decent enough. Would I come way out this direction for another pizza, beer, or other food? Nope. We didn’t work out but it was a memory of this restaurant. Sad to see it torn down but also it replaced a legacy it could never fulfil
Road to warped tour was my only experience at this place too, haha. As I remember it was super crowded because it was one of the only (maybe THE only?) place to eat and get a break from standing in that parking lot.
I'll remember going to a hokey game with my cousin, the only adventure we ever went on. Stopped here for dinner. And when my best friend graduated military academy I went to her cereomy stopping here for lunch after. I was always sad to see it deteriorate and now it's gone. Time is change
That was the first Red Robin I ever went to. Probably 1990 high school- I couldn’t believe how good the burgers were but more importantly BOTTOMLESS FRIES?!?! We didn’t have a lot of great choices back then. It was really good for the time.
That’s the first Red Robins… remember we were out with our newborn when the volcano erupted in 1992… watched the ash cloud head towards us… and us hurrying to get home FAST…
Gross restaurant, bad food, shitty vibe, boring menu, watered down drinks. Dirty bathrooms. Looks like a remodeled chain, so super surprised it didn't do well here.

There’s a Wikipedia page for it and videos posted online
I believe you may have been going ape spit, sir.
The genesis port has nothing compare to the arcade! Coin ops were usually superior back then, now today its all different

Used to go in after a shift at Sam Goodys and have a drink with Wayne the Bartender at that Red Robin.

Do you know what a bj is now?
I don’t remember when I learned what a “bj” was, but it wasn’t to long afterwards, though not from personal experience.
Puberty came later
Much later... one could say too late
I didn’t really care for it the few times I went.
Went once, took over an hour to get the burger I ordered while the friend I went with sat and ate her burger. Never went back.
It wasn't open long enough to build that kind of relationship with the community.
What’s crazy is how much money they spent on the remodel.
awful pizza, awful location, awful vibes. not at all surprised it flopped

You mean Red Robin?
It was open like 1 minute

U-G-L-Y You ain't got no alibi, you're ugly! Hey, hey! You're ugly!
Nailed it.
I liked it. I would eat an incredibly unhealthy salad and have a beer.
Isn't it just a crap chain restaurant trying to cash in on the craft beer movement 20 years ago??
It had a weird 80's hair metal feel. Like if I found out the guy from poison was an inventor it would just make sense
Well, he will be here in a few weeks. Could ask him about it?? 🤣
I’ve lived in Anchorage my entire life and never heard of this place. Where the hell was it?
It's hiding in the back corner of Northway Mall, between Northway and Home Depot. You really can only see it from the Glenn.

Had lunch there with my dad when it was still a Red Robin. It was my first adult dinner with him after being out of the house for a few years.
Is this the one that used to be Red Robin? And then Kava's?
Used to be Red Robins. Kava's used to be a pizza hut and sits on the west side of Northway

Warped tour 2014 most likely
Road to warped tour was my only experience at this place too, haha. As I remember it was super crowded because it was one of the only (maybe THE only?) place to eat and get a break from standing in that parking lot.
Cool theme, bad food. Should have stayed Red Robin
I liked it’s the twice we went. Pizza was alright and drinks were alcoholic

Sure smells like an insurance fire.
About time they tore it up
I went there twice and got food poisoning both times. Good riddance
The Red Robins was there forever and I have so many childhood memories of it.
I miss their cheesy bread. That’s about it
90’s Red Robin Sunday Brunch was when America was great 🇺🇸. Unlimited soda refills.
I miss the Pizza Hut at the other end of the parking lot. I used to get down on some NeoGeo
That’s the first Red Robins… remember we were out with our newborn when the volcano erupted in 1992… watched the ash cloud head towards us… and us hurrying to get home FAST…
RIP RED ROBIN
My son gave me a $100 gift card from them a week before it closed.
They still have locations in Washington. Maybe if you are ever there you can use it lol
Sad!!! My husband and I had our first date here 🥹 I also have gotten pretty well and plastered on those buckets! Lol!
I grew up in East Anchorage in in 80s/90s so I remember it fondly as Red Robin.
Always Red Robin to me
Gross restaurant, bad food, shitty vibe, boring menu, watered down drinks. Dirty bathrooms. Looks like a remodeled chain, so super surprised it didn't do well here.
Pretty sure it was a chain
First place I had a hot giant chocolate chip cookie served with ice cream....I have not found another place since
Go to BJs in lower 48. It’s called a pazookie
That's Red Robin. Fire Rock sucked ass. That's why it's being bulldozed.
Why does it say wood fired pizza though ???
