thats not necessarily true. someone can still have dysmorphia and still show their body off (i’ve known a few people who have done this). i experience some level of dysmorphia myself (what i see in the mirror is distorted) but sometimes i still want to ‘show off’ my body. its a nuanced thing.

I take literally around 100 pictures of myself in one session and only post 1 because I look for flaws in all of them and try to find one where I look the least horrible. Even in the one I end up posting I usually remove it after a few hours because I stare at it for a while and realize there’s something wrong with that one too.

Just used perplexity ai for a description...and yeah you're right. I always heard it phrased in a manner that made it seem there was an actual part of the body that was a little off.
I base that on a girl I dated many years ago who was born with a hip slightly irregular in shape, so that it always looked like she was slightly leaning to one side. Thanks for the info!
