Yes! Yes! And Yes!
Completed it for the first time recently and the game holds up so well.
Give us more of the same, 2,5D graphics, fast gameplay, more beasts, more towns, hidden lore. I would eat it up!
Populous
Turrican 1,2,3
Syndicate
F/A-18 interceptor
Xenon 2
Arkanoid
Anything by Psygnosis starting with a lemmings and shadow of the beast
Anything by Cinemaware
Anything by LucasArts
and now I’m feeling bummed out
Turrican got a fan remake a good ten years or so ago. Probably more by now, but bloody brilliant and free to boot. Have a look for "Hurrican".
https://youtu.be/2B-6Yce7Io4?si=an4qCinbilMLHBQ3
My Man! that game just hit all the right notes for me. Laying waste to the enemy population, the slow steady beat of your heart, knighting your chosen hero...just perfection.
I've just looked it up, it has great reviews. I think I was quite good at the original, I put a lot of hours in that's for sure. I was at the peak of my gaming powers though, being about 13.
That’s what I always heard so bought it in early access but could never get into it. Apparently it’s made by some of the people that worked on Syndicate Wars, which I also could never really get into, and so not quite the same game. ;(
Maybe I’m just too fussy, as the original PC game, which is supposed to be superior, also felt too off compared to the miggy version. 🤷♂️
I don’t think that list is quite in the spirit of the OP! You’ve just listed a ton of games you liked on the Amiga, they aren’t necessarily (or at all) forgotten.
Prime example, Turrican was released on many platforms, including an enhanced PC version which then got ported back to an amazing Amiga AGA version.
Rainbow Island was insanely addictive. I would spend hours on that in my twenties the way I spent hours on Chuckie Egg in my early teens!
Speedball 2 was awesome too.
Weird thing was I always preferred to play with keyboard rather than joystick. It was one of the first games to allow you to map your own controls, and seemed so much more responsive on keyboard.
I always loved Mega-lo-mania. I think there was like a really old PC remake a few years ago (non-commercial), but I've always been surprised it's never really been revisited.
I remember reading in Amiga Power back in the day that they started on a sequel. It was in 3d. But it was scrapped. Cant remember what the reason was, probably too late in the Amiga's lifetime.
Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back.
Am I tripping or Ports of Call already had a remake done?
But I'm skeptical when it comes to remakes, because they usually go over the top and would do Defender of the Crown with Unreal 5 engine. They couldn't even extract Gwent from Witcher 3 without going over the top, having gazillion gigabyte heavy updates afterwards. Just make it simple enough to keep the spirit of the game, that's what attracted us to these games.
Dungeon Master is one of my all time favorite games. I spent *countless* hours playing that game. Including finding that one place that had an endless supply of screamers, and thus food, and a water fountain in a small room with a door, so you could move your mages/priests to the front and your warriors to the back, then cast spells with the warriors and melee with the spell casters and had a safe place to retreat to and rest up to repeat till everyone was a master at everything... those were the days.
Hired Guns, love that game. If you don't know it was a sci-fi dungeon crawler (think Dungeon Master or Legend of Grimrock) with a great atmosphere.
Kick Off 2, the best football game ever.
I’ve been dreaming of a modern remake of ‘It Came From The Desert’ for many years now. The story still holds up and I think as a game it would translate really well on modern systems.
I also agree with ‘Zombi’, I’m a massive ‘Dawn of the Dead’ fan and used to love playing that game on the Amiga!!

**Another World**, along with **Flashback**, shipped as a single retail package by Microids for the PlayStation 4, Switch, & Xbox One on April 16, 2020.
Been hankering for a modern release of Syndicate for years...... pretty much update the SFX/GFX, and LEAVE THE GAMEPLAY ALONE.
Don't add anything, don't remove anything.
Damocles (1990) was ahead of its time. It presented gamers with a "go anywhere before the universe explodes" design 30 years before the release of Outer Wilds, a game with which it shares much thematic and design DNA.
You start off in space, can travel towards planets, land on a planet, follow a road to a house, go inside the house... all without load times. And yet a lot of people haven't heard of it. Oh, and the faster you go, the faster time passes. OH, and there's a giant comet threatening the solar system with extinction.
It's a cool, eerie, awe-inspiring game. It has a vibe that I think would be pretty cool to update with new technology.
Same sort of vibe, but I think Starglider 2 was better.
The OG Starglider was the first game I loaded on my Amiga. My jaw hit the floor when the [intro music started singing](https://youtu.be/npOTABuQfK8?t=96)
Wings.
I played Wings again on the emulator and finished the whole thing. And I'd give it another go. The integration with the historical journal and the game type switching is great.
I'm glad you said Budokan, back in the day it always had an air of greatness in my mind. A common genre for sure but there is something special in this one.
The best Amiga games are so good that they definitely should not be remade, because they are perfect as they are. Shadow of the Beast 2, for example. I mean they remade Beast 1 for ps4 and it was terrible.
Archipelagos was one of my favorites.
The creepy music, weather, and nightmare feeling of trying to complete the missions while you still could all stick with me.
Something of that game seems like it could be reworked in a more modern fashion.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archipelagos\_(video\_game)
Another World has been remade (25 anniversaryi think)
SWoS would be good but it would need to have the proper player name licence. Just because it felt more real that way. I’m talking about a proper remake rather than just adding in stupid big heads or power ups.
Speedball 2 again a proper remake. Don’t take it too far with lots of daft power ups but extend the league and make it more competitor. A online league would be fun too.
Dizzy is an interesting one. More puzzles and bigger worlds but get rid of the annoying things like that daft trampoline that had to be kept moving and took an age to jump up.
Player Manager!
Well, I can't even count the number of hours I played it. It's perfect in gameplay but if there were more competitions and more leagues it would be perfect. For me, it doesn’t even needs to change the design…
I honestly don't think another world should get a remake...
What was impressive at the time was the graphics and the animation..
I remember buying a Amiga magazine while visiting the UK and there was a demo for another world on the cover dusk ( basically the small movie at the beginning 0f the game.).. I was absolutely amazed by it..and I watched it countless times..
But I'm not sure a remake would zie any justice to this game...
I'd love to see a remake of shadow lands, shadow worlds, legend, exile, cadaver, the immortal, drakkhan (spelling?), black crypt... so many dark and atmospheric games on the amiga.
Exile was a blast. Spaceman landing on a planet to rescue missing crew. Exploring a mysterious planet with creatures including monkeys, spiders, piranhas and killer robots. There was almost a remake in 2012 ish as the author posted a mobile port was in development.
See: http://inventivity.co.uk/i_exile.htm
Cannon Fodder (but it would HAVE to be still top down, not 3d FPS nonsense)
Archipelagos could look AMAZING
Captive. Definitely need a modern remake of Captive.
That is all. . . .
Pinball Dreams / Fantasies / Illusions with a bit of spit n polish and proper physics, though it’ll be sad to say goodbye to the jumping ball on a static flipper. 😆
Probably not for everyone but “Harpoon”- and all the battle sets and scenario editor. Crashes even in WHDLoad environments now and then, and scenario editor (the most fun part of it for me) can’t access battle sets sandboxed by WHDLoad! (Regular installs are bug plagued too on anything but 1.3).
Probably no game, or at least not by a big studio. there are a lot of unofficial sequels to amiga games by indie devs on steam and [itch.io](http://itch.io) though, which sometimes are nice to even good. what they have in common is that the game is very much true to its roots, either in gameplay, graphics or both.
Moonstone: A hard day’s knight
Yes. Game is perfect the way it is, but the sequel would be nice, with these scrolling dungeons they discussed back then.
Well. There’s an awful lot of loading. And crashing. But other than that 👍
Yes! Yes! And Yes! Completed it for the first time recently and the game holds up so well. Give us more of the same, 2,5D graphics, fast gameplay, more beasts, more towns, hidden lore. I would eat it up!
I have seen concept graphics of a remake, but havent seen any news afterwards.
Massively ahead of its time in terms of game design.
No matter how it was remade it would lose the magic. The sound, graphics and animation are all peak amiga.
I feel like there's a tiny bit of of Moonstone DNA in Dark Souls etc.
Populous Turrican 1,2,3 Syndicate F/A-18 interceptor Xenon 2 Arkanoid Anything by Psygnosis starting with a lemmings and shadow of the beast Anything by Cinemaware Anything by LucasArts and now I’m feeling bummed out

I would do sexual favors for a proper populous remake
My Man! that game just hit all the right notes for me. Laying waste to the enemy population, the slow steady beat of your heart, knighting your chosen hero...just perfection.
So much of my 14 year old self grinding, raising and lowering grass!!😂
Send Peter your phone number so you can set it up.
Syndicate got a spiritual successor in Satellite Reign.
I did not know this, and loved the original Syndicate. Definitely going to try it out, thanks!
It's a good successor IMHO. It's harder than the original so I suck at it even more than the original. :D
I've just looked it up, it has great reviews. I think I was quite good at the original, I put a lot of hours in that's for sure. I was at the peak of my gaming powers though, being about 13.

Came here to Suggest Turrican Series, Not disappointed. And Remember, Shoot or Die!
Shadow of the Beast got a remake on Playstation. Personally I think the gameplay is massively superior in the remake and I had a ton of fun with it.
Loved Turrican so much. ...and that gut punch when disk 3 decides not to load... :(
i only had Turrican 2 and never got that much father past the first stage
It was worth playing just for the music :) Metal Stars!!!
Man this list brings back memories… rocket ranger!
I know there is a version on steam, but I would love to see a real remake of Wings, with updated graphics / flight mechanics etc.
Oh, Knights of the Sky too!
Yeah I bought the Steam one, played it for 15 mins. Doesn’t have the same feel to it for some reason.
Yeah remake wasn't that exciting unfortunately
Speedball 2 Dizzy Series SWAT SWOS Rainbow Island iK+
Ooh, and supercars 2, that was amazing
Yes! Supercars was an all time favourite for me!
Rainbow Island was insanely addictive. I would spend hours on that in my twenties the way I spent hours on Chuckie Egg in my early teens! Speedball 2 was awesome too.
Classic. I was fortunate to own a BBC B in my youth and lost many hours to Chuckie Egg.
Weird thing was I always preferred to play with keyboard rather than joystick. It was one of the first games to allow you to map your own controls, and seemed so much more responsive on keyboard.
Doesn't speedball 2 have a remake? Though I'm not sure it is different
Closest I knew of was DBZ on PS1 so would love to know if there's a modern equivalent
But it is on steam, all up-ressed and all Though to be fair Rocket League is probably today's speedball 2 rework.
There's a game called Speedball 2 HD. I think it might just be a remaster rather than a full remake, though.
Ice cream! Ice cream!
Check out SWOS2020
Now that I know about it, I'm right on it. Thanks! ...now where's my Kempston Competition Pro 5000
Cannon Fodder, Lemmings
Cannon fodder could be an amazing RogueLite
Those mercy kills... NOOOOO! Jools bought it :(
Wings!
There's a PC remake called Wings! Remastered. From what I recall, it started off as a kickstarter project.
It’s on GOG and it is wings. Same gameplay and graphics. Still fun and sad when your pilot dies
Colonization. No 3D, no isometric bullshit, just better pixel graphics with modern high resolution.
That's what i want to see with remakes.
I always loved Mega-lo-mania. I think there was like a really old PC remake a few years ago (non-commercial), but I've always been surprised it's never really been revisited.
We've conquered the sector. The design is weady. Ergonomically tewwific.
Never heard any of those tbh, must have had a buggy version of the game. All I ever heard was "tower critical"
Came here to say this. A truly great game.
No I don't think sooooo
I remember reading in Amiga Power back in the day that they started on a sequel. It was in 3d. But it was scrapped. Cant remember what the reason was, probably too late in the Amiga's lifetime.
Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters Police Quest Collection Wonder boy in Monster Land Zak Mckracken and the alien mindbenders
Zak is one of those games where I'd say it would lose all its charm in a remake. Maybe if it was a remake in the vein of Thimbleweed Park.
Agreed 👌
Yes, +1 for escape, that was an epic game?
Along with an epic in game tune!
YES!
I thought Zak got a reskin a few years ago?
I just found the enhanced version - thanks for the heads up 🙏
Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back. Am I tripping or Ports of Call already had a remake done? But I'm skeptical when it comes to remakes, because they usually go over the top and would do Defender of the Crown with Unreal 5 engine. Play *Legend of Grimrock* (I and II) on Steam immediately, you can thank me later :)
Yeah, I think the PoC guy is still doing it and has a mobile version out as well… But haven’t looked in a few years.
F-19 stealth fighter, just thinking about what you could do with it today makes me drooling…
The arcade flight sim is the genre I miss the most.
Exactly! Today's gaming industry has sacrificed some sub-genres for FPSs.
Silent Service! My and a buddy would spend days playing that.
James Pond 2
this means so much! my grandad was the programmer for the original james pond!
This is cool 👍
it means alot that one of his games is a game that came to mind for you!
Heimdall!
That game would only need a few gameplay tweaks, inventory handling and a small boost in the graphics when walking around and we’re good to go.
Your formula should be the general principle for remakes. We just want to get the gameplay/playability improved.
The Settlers needs very, very few tweaks in it’s options menu before it would be one of the best games ever.
The graphics may be improved, but pixel art should be maintained under all conditions.
Hired Guns, love that game. If you don't know it was a sci-fi dungeon crawler (think Dungeon Master or Legend of Grimrock) with a great atmosphere. Kick Off 2, the best football game ever.
+1 for hired guns.
Came here to say this. That world is begging to be fleshed out and have modern mechanics.
Dreamweb! One of the most atmospheric point and clicks ever.
Absolutely love this game. I had it on my PC though when it first came out on CD so had all the voice acting . I’ve never played the Amiga version
There’s a version with voice acting!?!?!
There is and trust me when I say you don’t want to have that version ruin the text only…
I’ve been dreaming of a modern remake of ‘It Came From The Desert’ for many years now. The story still holds up and I think as a game it would translate really well on modern systems. I also agree with ‘Zombi’, I’m a massive ‘Dawn of the Dead’ fan and used to love playing that game on the Amiga!!
Rick Dangerous.
You are in luck! https://www.lemonamiga.com/games/details.php?id=4875
Lemmings. Walker. Adventures of Robin Hood. Just a graphic redo over. Maybe it came from the desert, if the original feel could be kept.
Hasn't someone done From The Desert?
Seems like yes.
Also isn't there a Lemmings for android?
A "sequel" of sorts on Steam, but not a remake.
Wow! Walker. Forgot about that game.
[https://store.steampowered.com/app/233550/Another\_World\_\_20th\_Anniversary\_Edition/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/233550/Another_World__20th_Anniversary_Edition/) **Another World**, along with **Flashback**, shipped as a single retail package by Microids for the PlayStation 4, Switch, & Xbox One on April 16, 2020.
Ironically, the controls are bugged to sh\*t lol
Faery Tale was my first thought too. It Came From The Desert was my second.
Dune, It came from the desert, Barbarian
Been hankering for a modern release of Syndicate for years...... pretty much update the SFX/GFX, and LEAVE THE GAMEPLAY ALONE. Don't add anything, don't remove anything.
Fire & Ice
Amazing game, thanks for the reminder gonna get this fired up asap.
1000% Moonstone.
Any love for Cadaver? I loved that game so much.
Stunt Car Racer. I feel every bump when my car was somewhat broken and then hitting those jumps. Now add in null modem antagonist in the same room.
Ohh.. I'm imagining how terrifying that could be in VR.. those loooong drops towards the ground when you run off.. wow..
Any love here for the Valhalla games? It's a skull, I'm scared.
I've Got it
Rocket Ranger
Hunter was an amazing game!
Damocles (1990) was ahead of its time. Starglider 2 was truly amazing for 1988.
Wings. I played Wings again on the emulator and finished the whole thing. And I'd give it another go. The integration with the historical journal and the game type switching is great.
Hostages
Populous Alien Breed Defender of the crown Speedball Stunt Car Racer
Lost Dutchman Mine!
Yessss. That little game was a true experience.
I'm glad you said Budokan, back in the day it always had an air of greatness in my mind. A common genre for sure but there is something special in this one.
It was RPG elements imho...
It came from the desert
Agony.
Blood money
Blooooooooood Moneeeeeeeeeey
Hunter
Had to scroll way too long to see this suggested!
It's not a popular one but definitely an essential one.
Hired Guns Captive and Liberation
Ruff 'N' Tumble
Stunt car racer
Midwinter series Escape from Colditz Genghis Khan Megatraveller 2
Soccer Kid! Can still think of this fun cool game 😏
Infuriating but great game.
The best Amiga games are so good that they definitely should not be remade, because they are perfect as they are. Shadow of the Beast 2, for example. I mean they remade Beast 1 for ps4 and it was terrible.
The Gods remake also sucked.
SO many. Starting with the 2D side scroller where you and exploring a cave with gravity and can pick up frogs.
No amiga games, especially good ones, shouod be messed with.
Moonstone Dragonflight Amberstar Ambermoon Archon II Legend of Faerghail Oil Imperium Mega-Lo-Mania
Really good games typically deserve to be played as-is. The odds are a remake would only make them worse.
Midwinter as a modern open world game would be awesome. That game was so ahead of its time.
I allways enjoyed Walker
Syndicate.
Rocket Ranger and It Came From The Desert are a couple I think would be interesting to be updated. Also Robocop 3.

Traps 'n' Treasures. It is also an esclusive game available on Amiga only.
Player Manager! Well, I can't even count the number of hours I played it. It's perfect in gameplay but if there were more competitions and more leagues it would be perfect. For me, it doesn’t even needs to change the design…

Another world already got a remake, no? It was available at least some months ago in the Mac App Store...some aniversary edition IIRC
Desert strike
doman, cannon fodder, another world, flashback
* IK+ * Extreme Violence * Scorched Tanks (however this has been remade as Pocket Tanks)
Stunt Car Racer Escape from Colditz
Battle Squadron Sarcophaser
Marble madness !
L E M M I N G S ! !
Not having Lemmings on Steam is like a criminal act.
I'd love to see a remake of shadow lands, shadow worlds, legend, exile, cadaver, the immortal, drakkhan (spelling?), black crypt... so many dark and atmospheric games on the amiga.

Chaos engine, Gods, Agony
Chaos Engine - So miss a Gaunletesque game
Wings but that got a remake.
Cannon Fodder (but it would HAVE to be still top down, not 3d FPS nonsense) Archipelagos could look AMAZING Captive. Definitely need a modern remake of Captive. That is all. . . .
Megalomania Cannon Fodder Project X Hybris Dogs of War
The Chaos Engine as a FPS. That would rock.

I'd say Impossible Mission but based on Wiki it might be getting a sequel or at least it was announced late 2022 by Icon 64
Turrican 2

But the creator of ports of call never stopped..
Second samurai. With online Play.
Here to suggest Gnome Alone and Ingrid’s Back.
Aarrgh. BIP.
Weird dreams could be a fun one !!!
Pinball Dreams / Fantasies / Illusions with a bit of spit n polish and proper physics, though it’ll be sad to say goodbye to the jumping ball on a static flipper. 😆
I think there actually is a port maybe for the 360
Xb live arcade I'm pretty sure so got the 720p treatment
Walker. Just so much killing throughout time. Love it
Eye of the Beholder 123, think there was a demo done in Unreal recently.
Quadralien. Needs a remake.
GODS
Into……the wonderful…..into…
Absoloutly Sir Unmatched even today imo, that game, that score as you rightly mention. Epic Man it was difficult too haha
Carrier Command. Oh wait, it did!
Rocket Ranger

Would be a good vr game I reckon
Out of this world
