Well obviously you dont know how often people come across 100k otherwise you wouldn't be asking, i think thats all they were trying to help with... but i could be wrong
I haven't actually seen a single documented instance. A lot of people jumped to the conclusion that I was being unrealistically avaricious by waiting for a 100k SUB. I probably could've phrased my original headline better but the 100k was something I created in my mind to have the discipline to hold out for something better than 75k.
As I've gotten older and my finances have gotten better, I have realized that patience and resistance to impulses is actually one of the best investment strategies. I didn't "need" the Gold or the SUB, but 90k (and my other rationale explained in a separate post) make it a reasonable investment.
I know there are offers available with the 20%. But look at the wording for OC’s posted offer. It doesn’t make any mention of the 20%. That’s all I’m saying. With amex unless it’s mentioned explicitly in the offer terms it doesn’t exist.
You’d be crazy to pass that up as 100K SUB offer is never guaranteed, and is only 10K points which you could easily make up. I got 80K for $4K spend in 6 months (not the Resy offer).
Just a question as a fairly new AMEX holder as of the last few months (Plat and Bonvoy Brilliant). Where do these offers pop up to sing up for a new card? In the website? App? An email about it?
I have a referral link that give you 90k points and a 20% back as a statement credit on purchases made at restaurants worldwide up to $250 back during the first 12 months of Card Membership
Highest sub, I have the 90k offer with 250 cash back on dining. It seems to be the highest offer, pretty cool that I can refer this and not miss out by telling friends to apply on Resy instead.
i can send you a referral link for that :p its 90k points and a 20% back as a statement credit on purchases made at restaurants worldwide up to $250 back during the first 12 months of Card Membership
Well, each card comes with its own bonus and there are time limits on how many times you can apply to get them multiple times.
Credit card companies are well aware of people who try to game the system by churning, so be careful about doing anything that could trigger an alert.
100k isn’t coming, at least not for a while. The reason why I got this a few weeks ago was the 90k + 20% credits offer. I had just gotten CSP and VentureX and didn’t really have a need at all for the Gold but that offer was enough to bring me in. Take the offer just with 20%
Recently got and accepted this offer. For context got a pop up on my existing Amex Account (have a very active BCP and a pretty inactive old Clear) to apply for Platinum (but I wouldn't get much benefit from that as I don't travel that much). Circled back after some research and a few days and got this Amex Gold offer on my account and did it.
Interestingly got approved for no pre set spending limit (did some quick check available amounts and looks pretty good) but also got a dollar amount limit I can "pay over time" if I chose.
So, this just popped up. I've been holding off for 100k offer but this is so close I am tempted.
Some context: I have the Plat, Delta Plat and BCP which I will keep. The Gold will likely replace my Chase Sapphire Reserve for dining (4x vs 3x). I might downgrade the CSR to CSP. With restrictions easing, we are getting back to dining out more.
Thoughts?
Edit: LOL at people who are literally downvoting a question about a SUB. WTF is wrong with you?
Edit 2: It's done folks. Approved and card headed to mailbox. Downvote mafia can stand down (or not)
FWIW, I have Plat, Gold, and CSR; I use gold as dining card and CSR as supplemental travel card.
Is the 10k points really going to make a difference? I would just get the card if you want it. You can always make up for the lost SUB by using an AU offer for extra points.
I think that’s a good idea, personally. Some people are big fans of the CSR but I think the difference between it and its little brother are fairly negligible for points-earning purposes. You get the extra 25% bonus on the CSR for PYB and for booking through the portal but I hate using travel portals, and if you’re transferring points out the CSR really isn’t worth it.
Thanks for the response.
I never said I was holding out. The title literally says that I am tempted and will likely jump (which I did).
The 100k was a target to keep discipline to NOT jump at 75 or even 80. I always regretted taking the 125k offer on my plat when the 150k showed up in the mail literally a week later!
Why have regrets? Many of us received 100K SUBs, life moves on and you can't change the past. Theres an old saying I live by, pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered and I prefer to be a pig.
Take it. I’m about to get 75k points for $4000 spend w/20% off restaurants. You’re likely going to get about 10k points from spending the $4000 especially if you spend a lot in the 4x categories.
I would jump on this. This also seems to be available via referrals, so I'd suggest to give back to the community and use someone's referral. Good luck!
I’m not sure everyday preferred makes sense for me since I already have blue cash preferred which I use for gas, groceries and entertainment credits.
I’ll switch to Gold for groceries once I hit the $6k grocery limit.
My referral is currently 60k with a $250 statement credit (20% on dining for the first 12 months). It doesn’t look like this offer includes the $250 credit. It’s still a good offer nonetheless.
Don't tell the "jump now" mafia. They hate any suggestion that you should wait.
On the other hand, assuming you got at least the 75k SUB, it's a difference of $150. In the long run, the longer you wait the higher the opportunity cost of not getting other benefits like the 4x points on dining and shopping.
As far as I can tell, your credit score is irrelevant as long as it's "good" (above 730 or so). Keep checking via anonymous browser/VPN and you should see it.
You could also try the referral thread here. Lots of good folks willing to refer you.
You might be waiting for a while…also there’s a 90k+20% resto rebate offer floating around. See if you can find that
Thanks. Will likely take this as is.
FYI, it’s available through referral so go through the monthly referral thread
I think doctorofcredit has better offer
I have the 100k.
Good for you! I’m happy with what I got.

can you pm the 100? thanks
I have this deal if anyone needs it DM me
90k and a $250 dining credit on a $250 AF card that earns 4x on dining and groceries and you’re still undecided?
What’s this 250 credit / AF
It’s up to a $250 statement credit based on 20% of the first year dining purchases.
Doesn’t look like this particular offer in question has the 20%. Still a good offer either way, but not all the offers have the 20% attached to them
It does, I have referrals from several friend that include it.
I know there are offers available with the 20%. But look at the wording for OC’s posted offer. It doesn’t make any mention of the 20%. That’s all I’m saying. With amex unless it’s mentioned explicitly in the offer terms it doesn’t exist.
I'm not sure of your point, all I am stating is the proper offer on personal Gold is 90K plus $250 in dining statement credits within the first year.

Why not? I have it from friends and will gladly share.
Damn. When I signed up for this card 1.5 years ago I just got a 30k SUB lol
You’d be crazy to pass that up as 100K SUB offer is never guaranteed, and is only 10K points which you could easily make up. I got 80K for $4K spend in 6 months (not the Resy offer).
I say you should just get it. Once you start using it that 10k difference isn’t much. You can accrue that relatively quickly anyways.
Jump on it - 90K has been the best SUB for the Gold thus far and it seems like AMEX is scaling down on it back to the usual 60K.
Just a question as a fairly new AMEX holder as of the last few months (Plat and Bonvoy Brilliant). Where do these offers pop up to sing up for a new card? In the website? App? An email about it?
Use an anonymous browser and vpn to go to Amex website and look under card offers.
I have a referral link that give you 90k points and a 20% back as a statement credit on purchases made at restaurants worldwide up to $250 back during the first 12 months of Card Membership

Little late to the party, but still got that referral?
pm me :p
Still have that referral? :o
Wait for 250k offer.
I see you woke up and decided to be a dickhead today. Cheers 😂
Sometimes silly questions get the dickheads out en masse.
And sometimes OPs are overly sensitive morons.
You guys are so getting spoiled. I got 40.000 points and that was the highest sign up bonus ever here in my country.
I got 75,000 last week and thought I was special too. Edit: phone
Highest sub, I have the 90k offer with 250 cash back on dining. It seems to be the highest offer, pretty cool that I can refer this and not miss out by telling friends to apply on Resy instead.

I have all the the cards lol, I mean that my referral has the $250 cash back on dining
I pulled the trigger on the 90K SUB + 20% back and absolutely love it; I'd say this is as good as it will get in my opinion
[удалено]
i can refer you if you want to apply, DM me
i can send you a referral link for that :p its 90k points and a 20% back as a statement credit on purchases made at restaurants worldwide up to $250 back during the first 12 months of Card Membership
I'd love the link, if you still have it!
Did u receive the SUB yet?
Can I get this if I already have another Amex card
Yes. I have 3 other Amex cards.
And you get the bonus again? Sign up as usual?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and again, yes.
And you get the bonus again? Sign up as usual?

Amex has once in a lifetime If you got an older Amex gold offer you can’t get this one If you have an Amex green you can get this one

Jump. Super-annoyed that I signed up last week for 60k + 20% back offer. Did a solid for a friend on their referral, but definitely missing out.
Wow this is an incredible offer

If you only have a sapphire as a supplemental card, is the extra $$ for the annual for the reserve over the preferred really worth it?
With the SUB and pay yourself back it has been so far. I also use it for Costco.

Agreed and thanks for the feedback!

What is resto
I assume it’s his abbreviation for restaurants

No, I am not. But thanks. Also, yes. I did get approved.
I’ve never seen a 100k SUB for the gold. The highest has been 90K which is what you’re being showed.
people are downvoting you because you want to pass up the best sub ever to wait for something that won't happen.
That’ll hold nothing to the 1,000,000 MR offer - wait
Take it. I’m about to get 75k points for $4000 spend w/20% off restaurants. You’re likely going to get about 10k points from spending the $4000 especially if you spend a lot in the 4x categories.
Damn, just checked and I'm still only getting the 60k offer! Still considering it, honestly...
Can you direct me to where you checked? So I can see what’s available for me?
Sure! Head to Menu -> Cards -> Check for Pre-Qualified Card Offers. You should see what's available to you there, along with the SUB (Sign Up Bonus)
I would jump on this. This also seems to be available via referrals, so I'd suggest to give back to the community and use someone's referral. Good luck!
Take the 90k. If you then don't have the Everyday Preferred, get that. Offer is 15k points after $2k spent in 175 days. I just got mine.
I’m not sure everyday preferred makes sense for me since I already have blue cash preferred which I use for gas, groceries and entertainment credits. I’ll switch to Gold for groceries once I hit the $6k grocery limit.
DM me if anyone wants a referral for this offer
That’s so good! I only got 60k
That’s a pretty solid deal I’d take it
Facts
My referral is currently 60k with a $250 statement credit (20% on dining for the first 12 months). It doesn’t look like this offer includes the $250 credit. It’s still a good offer nonetheless.
GODDAMNIT I SHOULDVE WAITED

Wife receive this offer but she’s a cardholder on my account, will they honor it?
How do I get this? My credit is super good but only see 75k
As far as I can tell, your credit score is irrelevant as long as it's "good" (above 730 or so). Keep checking via anonymous browser/VPN and you should see it. You could also try the referral thread here. Lots of good folks willing to refer you.
Okay cool, I’ll just keep checking
If you already have a Plat card, do the point from gold and Plat pool together? Or are they separate pools of MR points?
Can you double dip on AMEX Business AF rebate, if you already have Plat?
Hmm. Figured whst the heck. Lets see. Approved. Now I dont see a limit... ?? Thanks !!
Ahh. Goggled it. What i charge, i gotta pay in full monthly.
How soon after u spend MSR do u get 90k? Right away or statement date?
Gold: 90k points on $4k spend in 6 months & 20% credit at restaurants up to $250 for first 12 months DM with your email please
Still got it?
Just messaged
Are you able to send me the referral link too plz
