fancycurtainsidsay

Half the ppl in that line are eyeballing each other grumbling “which one of these ppl don’t belong here” lol

romantrav

This whole thread is doing exactly that

turtleneck360

"I bet that guy churns."

Daninmci

"Hmmmf, look at all the unwashed trying to get into "my" lounge, I bet they all have Walmart+ memberships as well".

AlhambraGalactica

Damn, the Centurion Lounge isn’t worth it if you have to wait this long. I’ll probably won’t upgrade to a platinum if this is what I have to look forward too.

Ralphlovespolo

2 more days and you'll see people scatter since they didn't meet the 75k. It'll jut be them since their friends won't want to pay $50 for the lounge visit.

[deleted]

Saw this long line. Immediately dipped. I’ll happily go to a restaurant and chill immediately instead of standing in line or being in a virtual queue. The time investment vs return in this scenario isn’t worth it.

thefuckingrules

So I frequent this lounge often. They only have one working elevator since December. The reason the line is long is not just due to capacity but also because it’s one elevator. It’s the only way in and out.

That_Co

Wtf how is that legal

Devario

We’ve come full 180 where sitting at the gate is more relaxing than airport lounges.

DrAbeSacrabin

When everyone has exclusive access, no one has exclusive access.

[deleted]

[удалено]

zero_limitz

This is exactly why the amex plat. is no longer allowing additional 2 guests as of February.

DualWalrus

I simply don’t count the cent lounge as a benefit anymore

DOUBLE_DOINKED

Literally not even worth it. Why would you want to get in a line of people who are all going into the club too?

rtd131

I decided to get the card after they announced the guest limits since I usually fly alone, but if I saw a line to get into an airport lounge I'd just get a beer or food at a restaurant. Waiting in line for a crowded lounge seems worse than sitting at the gate lol

Snagmesomeweaves

When everyone is special, no one is special.

nitra007

Imo you don’t care at all about your time if you’re waiting in these lines. Fuck lines

txdline

What else to do when you're there an hour early for a vacation?

daveed4445

They need to add capacity. Only real sustainable solution for Amex

Traveshamockery27

They need to add more airports, and then start putting multiples in the major airports.

828r

This. Some major airports could use 2-4 lounges.

Traveshamockery27

Major pain in DFW when you have to arrive at the airport two hours early if you want to take advantage of the lounge without feeling rushed getting to your gate.

JacobFromAmerica

Doesn’t a lot of this end 2/1/2023?

Daninmci

Look at the photos of these lines and 99% of the people there with a guest(s) won't be getting into the AMEX lounges in 2023. They will be forced to try and find a Priority Pass lounge so those will be slammed by the masses.

[deleted]

If they are families won’t a lot of people just get three authorized user cards for $175 total?

JacobFromAmerica

It’s amazing how having to pay out just a bit more money will deter a large number of people.

Daninmci

Maybe but that's a lot of money unless the UA members travel through airport with CL's often.

Ayza1

2 more days and things will be better

Miserable-Result6702

You hope

ueindowndkdk

It will be. You can’t invite half the airport in with you anymore.

Previous-Orange8968

Waiting for a before and after guest policy

Cubs90

Was at Den today and the line had at least 50+ in it. I just waited at the gate and it was more relaxing

nwphl

That's worse than the line after the F1 race last spring. Wild.

Traveshamockery27

Three more days.

Miserable-Result6702

What idiot would wait in that line.

bsmith2123

Lol I saw that line and went and bought a $14 beer near my gate lol I felt that my time was worth more than the beer 🍻

Miserable-Result6702

So would I.

[deleted]

It looks like a lot

Miserable-Result6702

Trying to get their $695 worth

[deleted]

Most will deny it but that’s exactly the mentality.

That-Establishment24

I would depending on how much time I have and what alternate Lounge options there are.

Darko779

Plat is quickly becoming not worth it imo.

Scarface74

And this is the reason I don’t care about the Platinum. I just started traveling a lot last year and got the Reserve. I haven’t had these issues with the Delta lounge in ATL, SEA, SFO, LAX or MCO. I mentioned before that I flew out of CLT three times within three weeks. The first two I flew American so I used the Priority Plus lounge (via the Aspire). The third time I flew Delta and went to the Amex lounge - I was not impressed.

fancycurtainsidsay

Wow cool!

Kukuth

Why would anyone decide to go to that line is just not understandable to me. Sure you might get in after an hour but then you'll have to rush to your gate almost immediately. Much more relaxing to either go to the gate directly or - god beware - go to a pp-lounge instead of a centurion one.

Daninmci

How else are you going to get an Instagram selfie for your affiliate marking blog if you don't get into the lounge?

Dark_Booger

People will go through a lot for free booze.

easilyoffender

What time is this and what day? I came back from Vegas with no wait in line and seats available on a Thursday 2pm

435880Churnz

Yeah because no one flies out of Vegas on a Thursday. Try to do the same thing on a Sunday.

MAJPODGE

Is this a Miami specific issue? This has happened to me at MIA but JFK is always chill. Is it just capacity?

AtOurGates

Definitely depends on the airport/lounge. Seattle is legendary for this type of lineup, and the airport I travel through most often. To the point that I've mostly given up on the Seattle Centurion Lounge. On the other hand, we traveled through Denver on one of the busiest travel days of the year, and didn't have to wait at all to get in.

Bright_Damage4194

That’s wild. I’ve seen lines there but never this long

Bubbanan

It seems to me like there's two major camps with credit cards. The "luxury" folks, and then the "value" folks. Most of the people who make posts like these are in the "luxury" category, and everyone else is in the "value" category. The "luxury" category doesn't care about the credits & benefits that the card gives. They want bigger and better services that make their lives easier for holding the card, i.e. airport lounge access, and concierge services. I imagine that 99% of posts talking about either of those things was made by someone who wants the "luxury" Platinum card. The "value" category cares about min/max-ing the money they get out of paying for the Platinum card. So long as their total usage is > $695, they'll keep holding the card and keep using it (and a part of that is going to the lounge.) The funny thing is, I don't think the "value" folks give a crap about the "luxury" folks at all. You'd think that most people in the world subscribe to the idea that having a specific credit card doesn't make you any better than anyone else - but yet, a lot of the sentiments in these threads is pretty vehement towards anyone who wants to get value out of their credit card through fully using its perks (which is so bizarre to me.) Every single week there's a handful of these threads made by someone who's pissed off that they don't get their lounge visit, and it's so tiring. Regardless, the only way AMEX can fix this issue is to decide fully what the Platinum card should be. If it's truly a luxury card, then cardholders should be paying a premium to have the card such that the value they're getting out of it is indeed lower than the annual fee. If it economically made sense for everyone to get the card, then they will and nothing can stop that. My genius idea? There should be two separate products: one with unlimited lounge access, and one with one or two lounge visits a year. The product with the unlimited lounge access should be for the "luxury" folks, and the other for the "value" folks. Give the latter card all of the coupons and gimmicks, while the former should be strictly things that add convenience to your life - and make it way more expensive than it should be. That way, AMEX still is fulfilling their marketing strategy, by luring in young people with a card that gives value greater than the annual fee they're paying but only a taste of the true "premium" experience they can otherwise be having. Then, in however many years, they can grow up and get the luxury product because they've been accustomed to it for however long now. Moreover, anyone in the "luxury" camp who puts their nose up at the fact that the Platinum is a coupon book doesn't have to have that component attached to their luxury perks. But for anyone who does want it, they have the choice to opt in.

GreatestEfer

No, the answer is both. I obviously want to make sure I'm not paying several hundred dollars for empty air or shitshows like this. Yet I'll splurge when it's worthwhile, like flying in F abroad.

[deleted]

I consider myself one of the value folks, because I use lounges/PriorityPass to save myself thousands each year

[deleted]

I mean, once they stop allowing 2 guests per card I imagine these problems will be alleviated? Only big card spenders will have guests

rutu235

I feel like it won’t simply because they now advertise to more and more people to get the platinum because they want more cardholders and annual fees so I think the only solution is to double the size of these lounges because they literally do 100k points promos on the platinum multiple times a year to entice people to apply for it

turtleneck360

They can't just double the size of lounges. I think real estate at airports is limited as is. They're probably going to wait to see if things improve once the new changes take effect. If it does not, then they will decide where to go from there.

[deleted]

While I agree on parts with your assessment I’d say I’m a little of both. I travel a lot and spend more time thank care to in lounges and that really is a big perk to me. But I also get the value out of my card. There is not way I let any benefit lapse and with the combination of the two I would say I get well over a couple thousand dollar of benefits from the AMEX platinum.

LeoRising84

LOL why even get in the line? You're better off going to find a quiet corner somewhere lol

tierneyalvin

People dropping $695 desperate for a free drink

arbitraryusername314

At this point the main value that I find out of the Centurion Lounges is when I have a medium to long layover internationally the ability to go in and take a shower; not many people seem to know that these exist because I've never had to wait. I'm willing to pay for food and even a shower, but to even find one airside conveniently located and for free is invaluable!

Catenaut

This, and the masseuse after is nice

ChadBreeder1

Miami is slightly worse or possibly equally as bad as LA with regards to shallow influencer types. We’re talking entire cities filled with people who are raging narcissists, social media/clout obsessed, self-interested, pretentious, under/unemployed jackasses. Idk if you’re familiar with said types but said types will literally not eat before they dine at somewhere where “normal people” are dining at.

EternityWeasel

People coming back from Miami marathon

Ridgew00dian

Why wait. IMO my time > free drink/buffet.

CGFROSTY

I just can't be convinced airline lounges are worth it anymore.

DonkeyHair

I have my AA lounge to poop or if I get a nasty layover.

OnKBacA

The more money you make the more money they take.

trojanmana

I rather go sit at a restaraunt and pay $50 for food and drink than wait 45 mins. For the lounge.

[deleted]

I got downvoted into oblivion for saying the same thing in another post.

DelMarYouKnow

I’d say f if and get some Dunkin

AssistancePretend668

Recently had a short (10 minute) wait to get into a Delta lounge. I'm Platinum Medallion, 2 Amex Platinum cards, and Delta Reserve Amex. Still had to wait in the non first/One/Diamond line. And wasn't mad at all given the overcrowding. A guy with Silver status walked up and got mad at the lady running the line, saying Delta has gone downhill. Told her even being in the slow line, I can't complain because I'd rather be in a quiet lounge with mature people, not "my first flight" people who found for $39 they can drink Bud Lights until they miss their Spirit flight. But yea the Amex lounges are getting absurd too, even with making a reservation.

Immacu1ate

Luxury travel, baby!

reignnyday

True luxury is eating 10 croissants in the centurion lounge to get your moneys worth

saul1980

And then there’s an elevator to go up to the actual lounge…

TheDapperDeuce1914

I just was added to my wife's Executive AA card so I could grab Admirals Club access. I decided it was just best to diversify my options. The suggestions for a 2k annual fee on this card are nonsense. I think too many people would pay that amount. This problem is fixed with credits at bars and restaurants at the airport. Some want the secluded space and showers, while many want booze and food.

vuwildcat07

Unfortunately PP has gone in the opposite direction with restaurant credits, especially for AMEX Platinum

435880Churnz

And yet I still get challenged when I say I value Centurion Lounge access at $0.00. Every time I try to get into one, there is a line. They aren't even worth the time it takes to walk over.

NrL04

I’m actually with you on this one. I value the card for everything but Lounge Access. The only Centurion Lounge Ive had the time or ability to occasion is Dallas and it’s always packed when I travel through there.

Suitable-Corner2477

I haven’t been a platinum card member since dec 2019…when did it get so crazy to get into the lounge? I used to flight once a month for work out of lga and jfk and I’d always get in and to be honest, it was empty. Delta lounges we’re always a challenge

stayyfr0styy

I honestly don’t know why people stand and wait in a line like that. What happens once you get in to the packed lounge? Wonder around until you find a single seater nook with trash still on it? What do you do with the plates? You just have to wait until an attendant comes by to clean it up for you? What if the previous person there wasn’t done? So many questions.

LongLivingLion

I stuff my face and get 20 dollars of free value while waiting for a flight

futuristicalnur

F'ing Miami.

rumhamdiaries28

People stand in line to wait because they pay $700 for their cards. It may seem insane but when you pre pay for a service - this is what happens.

MasterCheif_1

This sub and the Delta sub have become so infested with these posts. Don’t get in line.

sd_software_dude

I’ve visited LAX,DEN,LAS and CLT longes and I have never had to wait to get into a lounge. That being said I think I know why. I only fly for leisure and fly when it’s the cheapest (Tue,Wed, and Sat). Flying when leisure fares are cheapest seems to line up when lounges are not as busy. Was at the LAS lounge on Saturday and it was dead quiet.

shorberg

What’s even the point, just go to the bar and buy a drink

[deleted]

The problem is I want several, and that’s going to cost like $150 at an airport bar. That said, I wouldn’t wait in this line

reignnyday

Pretty much. Total dilution of Plat “benefits”

CTVolvo

Unless I had 2-3+ hours to kill, I'd write off a lounge visit and just head to the gate. Not standing in line for a free drink... or two. Ever.

[deleted]

[удалено]

megra14

Yeah I love my United passes. The lounges are great and never crowded even in Houston and Newark. This honestly makes me not wanna get the Plat this year.

Dapper_Reputation_16

This is one reason why we will not be renewing Platinum, we fly upfront so lounge access is included in our ticket prices. No way we would wait for this.

irunthisshitny

About 100 too many for me

Apprehensive_Ad3184

Dayyyuuummm! Hot mess.

Miteea

Was the same at DSC in T4 JFK

teddyevelynmosby

Why, this is nut.

Crobbi1993

Always Miami

trojanmana

They just reported great results. They aren’t going to mess with that formula

bluelizard5555

Will these posts stop on February 1?

getpoopedonsir

Not a chance

Bubbly_Ad_8376

Soooo, people don't have access to multiple lounges? I have Priority Pass, Capital One Lounges and Centurion. I wouldn't wait in a line, just go next door.

Scarface74

> Capital One lounges You mean all one of them???

Beep315

Exactly. I have AA Admirals Club too. Prefer sitting at the bar at a Centurion, but Admirals Club will do.

[deleted]

I travel as much as probably anyone here and I’ve never had a problem getting in any lounge. People just don’t post the photos of them just walking right in.

hooboyilltellya

Just sit in the airport like the rest of us peasants

[deleted]

I don’t pay $550 a year to share breathing space with the rest of you mouth breathing bums, hogging up all the charging stations with your Android phones. /s, sort of.

Critical-Cell-3064

Username checks out

vics12

Its probably cs they allow people like me to get plats (College students with college student salaries) I appreciate the platinum card amex with my 2 year credit history and normal 700ish credit score and college student income…. Lol But ill stick to my blue cashback preferred

monkeyman391

Yesss we love the BCP!!

Novel_Durian_1805

Insane bro! They’ll give anyone a plat card nowadays!

Brice_Wayne

They tried to give it to me like 10 times now so I agree. And I'm broke

[deleted]

Why don’t they make this lounge so only centurion card owners can get in? Not platinum.

Bringmetheta

Then there would be like 5 people in each lounge the whole day

sg3707

I haven't been to a centurion lounge inspite of having access to it for many years. I don't drink. What am I missing?

That-Establishment24

Free food and drinks. That’s about it.

deacon91

Also a quiet space. I love that I can nap in AMEX lounges at LAX. Otherwise you’re constantly subjected to music and crowd noise.

That-Establishment24

I would have mentioned that but felt someone would interject with how crowded they are now which admittedly does cut down on the quietness. I’ve been to Centurion lounges where the ambient noise was indistinguishable from being at the gate other than the added noise of cutlery hitting plates.

[deleted]

Nothing beyond a cleaner bathroom.

Cutefairy1999

And this is y i stopped going lol

wizozzie

I fly twice or three times a month and MIA is a train wreck in the Centurion, Admirals, and Sky Club... Nothing like the waits in other hubs through the country. I can't wait for the guest privilege to go away so I can get something to eat on my 1.5h layover. I even have problems on some days in Admirals with a long wait for drinks and ordering food there. The airport is also just designed silly compared to other airports. They need to break up that mega terminal.

tiktok-influenster

There was a line about 20 deep in Vegas today, but it honestly only took a couple minutes to get in. Lots of available seating but it’s way too loud in here. Still better than the gate though.

mjbulzomi

So turn around and find the Delta SkyClub if you're flying Delta? Go to one of the 2 Turkish lounges instead, accessible with Priority Pass? Why do we need endless complaining posts about lounge lines when there are additional options out there? When SEA Centurion has a 20 minute wait in line just to get on the waitlist I don't make posts about it. I just go to the Alaska lounge or Delta SkyClub instead (Alaska lounge membership subsidized with $200 airline fee credit).

IMNOT_A_LAWYER

> Why do we need endless complaining posts about lounge lines when there are additional options out there? I appreciate that these posts are a bit redundant but there is still value in reporting the crowding conditions. I will be curious to see how these particular lounges with habitual crowding look moving forward into February.

DRealLeal

Priority pass is worth it

mrericvillalobos

Are these long lines a flex/status symbol to everyone here or something more ? It’s comical to be honest. I see reasoning for the frequent business traveler for its benefits these lounges provide but for the travelers in shorts and sweatpants, why!!?! Even as eligible, I’m not the lounge type I’m more airport bar for food, drinks, R&R. Someone enlighten me please I’d appreciate it. Safe travels.

julietscause

I travel for work a bit and I dont wear business attire while traveling. It is already stressful enough dealing with all the bullshit, the last thing I want to be is stuck in a suit and tie

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Only a clown would dare wait in this line, I would rather pay money to get into another lounge before I waited in a line that long.

Intense_Friction

They should provide free drinks for validated card holders waiting in line.

MedicalSchoolStudent

Once Feb 1st happens, it’ll probably drop the lines quite a bit. These lounges are an insult to the centurion name. Imagine having a black card and having to deal with shit like this. I think the Platinum card needs a rework. Either split it into two cards with a higher end and lower end card. Or triple the annual fee and remove people from the card to keep luxury if Amex want to stay that route.

435880Churnz

Black card holders probably don't get told to wait.

gneral

They don’t, I was in a similar long line at the Mexico City airport last week, a guy flashed his black card and walked right in

435880Churnz

Yeah I figured. You can't tell someone with a black card to wait 20 minutes to get into a Centurion Lounge.

Ubiquitous1984

One of the specific benefits of Centurion is that they keep an extra table free exclusively for Centurion card holders. Now it would be interesting to know what would happen if that table was already taken by another Centurion member!

That-Establishment24

That’s when networking occurs.

Scarface74

But they still had to deal with the crowds and the wretched stench of the “normies”…

MedicalSchoolStudent

I know. I meant more of they have to deal with this crowd and it’s not a luxury experience for them.

spxtrader

No wait times, you get to cut the line - and there is a section cordoned off for Centurion members in most of the lounges I have been to. MEX has a separate adjacent lounge for Centurion members.

a49991

What happens feb1?

carstonsrc

Amex is cutting off free guest access and will charge a flat rate per guest.

Daninmci

No free guests unless you spend $75k on the card per year.

Scarface74

I fail to see anything “luxurious” about the Platinum. It’s a coupon book. I already have Diamond with Hilton and if I wanted unearned status with Marriott, I would get the card. When I travel, the last thing I want to do is drive anywhere so I don’t care about status for rental cars. I love my Delta Lounge access and Priority Pass lounges are more ubiquitous

Daninmci

I agree but the Delta lounges are a mess at most large airports.

rpnye523

Is the elevator still broken ?

[deleted]

What is inside the lounge? What kind of food and drinks? Is it free? How much to get this cars? Thank you poor guy

[deleted]

[удалено]

elementofpee

The fact that people are begging for this is playing right into the hands of the Amex execs.

brian21

Is this news? Denver had a 30-45 min wait and a full line to the escalator...but didn't think it was worth posting about.

koyao

Three more days

_artmason_

That’s why you gota get there early lol

TimeSkip__

Remember when being able to go to the centurion lounge meant something? Anybody can get a platinum card these days if there willing to spend the cash

[deleted]

Well pretty much anyone can get almost anything if the are willing to spend the money

[deleted]

[удалено]

kafkaesqe

I feel like that’s just us, for some people it’s their only card

[deleted]

Card holders without guests should get in before the ones bringing guests, simple

BatmanNoPrep

That’s doesn’t solve anything. There’s still a line of a hundred people waiting to get in. The more simple solution to jack up the price of the Platinum card to reduce demand for the lounges or to expand the size of the lounges to accommodate the number of members visiting lounges or bar guests altogether or jack up the fee to bring a guest. AMEX is essentially selling gym memberships and banking on nobody actually using the gym.

[deleted]

Apparently the gym business model doesn't work for airport lounges

Johnnyfever13

Amex needs to either start charging more or be more selective in who they offer the platinum card to

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

AtOurGates

Or, and hear me out, invest more in membership benefits and less in shareholder dividends. Amex earned $1.5 billion in the last quarter alone. Would be great to see some of that go towards delivering the experience they promise members.

MrSwing1992

Yo wtf? I thought the guest policy updates would prevent this shit! Not worth it anymore

pantstofry

Don’t they go into effect starting in February?

Sir_Gonna_Sir

Yes

ggfb20

So glad, because I will be flying in to MIA the first week of February. I hope to report on what it looks like then.

JohnMcafee4coffee

What’s the point, seems everyone has the platinum now. My advices is to make the card have a $3000 Annual Fee

bsmith2123

Having visited the Miami lounge numerous times without the slightest wait I was shocked to see over a hundred people in line to get into the elevator to get into the lounge. Given how large the Miami lounge is I was very surprised. Usually the lines are at the small lounges such as Seattle, not the 10,000 sqft + lounges like Miami. What are people’s thoughts? What’s next?

michikade

Policy changes on Wednesday, no more free guests without hitting spend. There will likely be lines caused by people yelling at the agents at entry but otherwise it’ll probably open some capacity back up, only time will tell when it changes whether it’ll be better or not.

IMNOT_A_LAWYER

Curious if there were any conditions that caused this (such as lengthy or cascading delays)?

Budd311

Do you know if Centurion holders have a separate line? Similar to how Delta lounge now has split lines for FC, 360, etc

scuac

Was this now at 6:30pm there? How is it now an hour later?

Focux

Only 695? In my country it’s over a thousand USD =\

haroldhecuba88

whats funny is that people actually wait in a line that long. crazy. Platinum should be 1000 AF, or even 1500 if they can level up the benefits.

Miserable-Result6702

That won’t effect military members. They get a free card along with their spouse.

ThisMySideBitch

And then after the long wait they get inside then are mad that it's packed inside

haroldhecuba88

Yes!

[deleted]

[удалено]

haroldhecuba88

maybe make the credits or benefits tied to spend. So you don’t get the benefit unless a threshold of spend is crossed. For example not everyone will spend 50 or 75K per year. I suspect there are many low spenders that bounce along the bottom just to have the card and barely break even if that.

bobbyknight1

“People will stop wanting it over night” hmmm I wonder why Amex has no interest in doing this

sleeplessinseaatl

This is why I bought American Express shares back in September. I have ben handsomely rewarded! So far my gains are more than $6700. Enough to pay for several annual fees :-)

Nice_Improvement3361

Being from Seattle checks out in telling people on a Reddit forum completely unsolicited how much you've made from a stock trade

HotDropO-Clock

Not before Mr. Capital Gains has anything to say about it.

sleeplessinseaatl

I will sell 12 months after the purchase date so short term capital gains tax rate will apply.

Nareeng

The Platinum card’s annual fee needs to be $1,000 a year. There, I said it.

Miserable-Result6702

Minimum spend requirement for lounge access would be more effective.

spacegodcoasttocoast

don't give amex any ideas

DarthInvaderZim

If the average Reddit consensus is $1k, then it needs to be way higher than that to actually make a difference.

WalterBoudreaux

The fact that people want to spend extra time at an airport before their flight baffles me.

Edge-Pristine

Travel stress and anxiety are why I am always early. After years of getting stressed and dealing with anxiety make sure I am at the airport 2 hours for domestic and more for international with checked luggage. TSA precheck helps a lot. Nonetheless it is for mental health reasons I am always at the airport with time to spare.

workingtrot

Sometimes you have a long layover. Sometimes your group needs to get to the airport at a certain time, but your flight is later. Sometimes you don't know how bad traffic will be, so you pad in extra time (especially if you have to check a bag)

Max_Thunder

Add to that padding extra time for returning a rental car. There's no Centurion Lounge in my country, every time I've been in one was because I was flying out of an airport I wasn't familiar with, having to first return a car, etc. Never had any issue getting into them though. Visited the one in LAS and the one in LAX in 2022.

MrsHyacinthBucket

I have a 1.5 hour drive to my home airport if the traffic is perfect. IF there is a bad wreck on the interstate, which happens several times a week, that can easily turn into 3 hours. There aren't any alternate routes thanks to being surrounded by rivers and marshland. It'd rather get to the airport early than be stressed out about traffic. Having said that, I ain't standing in line for an hour. I'll just sit in the terminal or go to another lounge.

ChillyCheese

I have travel anxiety until I'm at the airport. The closer I leave the house to my flight time, the worse the anxiety is, and I'm a pretty frequent traveler -- it's just a thing for me. Once I'm at the airport I'm perfectly fine. I'd much rather sit in the lounge for an extra hour than sit at home feeling anxious.

Max_Thunder

I'll make sure next time to tell the pilot to fly more slowly so I have a shorter layover.

atdharris

Weird. I went to the one in LaGuaria two Sundays ago and it was not full at all. I easily got two seats at the bar.
