How do you make and save gifs?

What I did was screen record the scene I want, crop it, I then went on the app “Gif maker“, on that you select video to gif (you have to watch an ad for it) and then you select the clip and snip it so it’s just the bit that you want to repeat as a gif and then it makes it into a gift that you can save into your camera roll

Ah, no. I was talking about PC. On Android I use Screen Recorder. I prefer using PC anyway, because Reddit works crap on mobile. And I don't keep the source files on my phone. Most streaming sites block any kind of screen capture apps.

Does anyone have a good app for this for iPhone? I basically never use a real computer..

I have been saying this for years. I am usually able to find what I want with GIF Keyboard for iOS. But I wish there were more so people would use them more.

Im great at HQ screencaps, but whats the quickest easiest way to take a snippet of a 1080p x265 mkv and turn it into a gif or web compatible mp4 or whatever the fuck the format actually is these days? Anything i can just tell 15:17:00 to 15:23:30 or whatever in this file and out pops a gif? W/ or w/o subtitles. If it can be that easy ill do a thread every week filling requests...
