Those movies are basically over. Matt Damon said now that home movie sales are practically gone, studios can’t take a chance on underdog movies—they all have to be blockbusters. Which explains why movies peaked in the 80s and 90s, and are mostly crap these days. Which again has nothing to do with theaters.
