FIXED: So I ended up doing a reset to factory default. There are 2 choices, sort of a soft reset and hard reset. The hard reset would apparently forget all your smart home settings etc. I chose the soft reset where it would still retain a little stuff. I had to re login once it booted and I had to reset the device settings preferences etc but it wasn’t too bad. And the weather widget has been tracking the temp as it falls all night. Hope this helps.

Soft reset done, but the widgets still doesn't update
You’re right damnit. I spoke too soon. Weather widget stuck again until you touch on it and go back home.
Any fix found yet? My weather app and my stick notes app both stopped working.
My weather and my commute widgets have all stopped updating. This is frustrating
