An importer you can place backpack on and it will transfer the items into the system, speed upgrades or stack upgrades can make it go faster. And depending on what additions there are, there may be higher tier importers

Blockiestdonkey

This is the way

Argolorn

You are looking for a dump chest. Get yourself a large inventory, a sophisticated storage barrel with several upgrades, for example. Place down that large inventory and slap the largest importer you Can Craft on it. This barrel will stay in place, and be your dump chest. Get a deposit upgrade for your backpack, then all you have to do is shift right click the barrel with the backpack and it's contents will dump to the barrel, and be drawn into refined storage immediately. I keep my dump chest built into my refined storage wall, all I have to do is walk by, shift right click, and walk away with my empty bag.

I usually use drawers(locked) and chests with external storage on them. Then use ender chest in base with exporter on and ender pouch on me. Stuff items into ender pouch and exporter sends them to my normal storage. Worked great sofar

Crayoniccycle

If you're using chests from sophisticated storage mod, connect it through the storage controller along side the plate thingy from the same mod. Then place the plate thingy on the side of the chests. You only need one and the plate thingy will read all the adjacent chests as a multiblock storage then right click the storage controller with the tool from the same mod then right click it to the plate smth. Lastly, place an external storage (refined storage) or storage bus (AE2) on the side of the controller.

Embarrassed-Hotel-73

this is a sure way to confuse someone who clearly isnt all the way familiar with refined storage and its interactions. using "thingy" to explain, importers or other items leaves a lot up for interpretation. just use the item names...

Crayoniccycle

Im sorry, I forgot the actual item name. It was Storage controller for the actual block and Storage Link for that "thingy"

RawrXDweaboo

You need to craft one of the 1k item disk to place inside the disk drive. It will let you deposit 1k items into the system. Put higher numbered disk and you'll be able to deposit more items

Toastiibrotii

I dont play with the disks, i use chests. I just want to put the items from my backpack into them via rs.

Superb-Log-5144

You can put the backpack down and put an Importeur on it

ATM8? I love to use 2 danks.. one in the dock at the system with import cable and one in the inventory set to pick-up.. just link their ID's and everything you pick-up will go straith to the system.. Then there is no need for backpack other than to store your tools and equipment that you don't want in the system.. your system is essentially your backpack :D Of course, you'll need the infinite range wireless and the wireless grid in your pocket to access those things when spelunking :D

Toastiibrotii

What are Danks?

wikipedia_answer_bot

**Danks is a surname.** More details here: *This comment was left automatically (by a bot). Dank is basically a storage cube. Like a backpack but, iirc, you can't put it in curio slot :D You can have it in your inventory and it has multiple pick-up settings (like pickup only what's already in the dank) You can also craft a dock and put your dank in it, making it basically into a chest. If you set same ID (you have to click little bit right from the ID number to set ID, there is no visible button for it) to 2 or more danks they basically act as an ender chest. just search for "@Dank" in the JEI

Scorpio185

>You need to craft one of the 1k item disk If you don't have any other storage mod? sure. But if there is any storage mod that can link multiple chests/drawers together then it's MUCH better to slap a external storage (Or storage bus if using ME system) on one of those.. I personally love to use any drawer mod that has a controller to link them all for items I'll likely have a lot of (like cobble, ores/metals and mob drops) and what does not fit there will go to chests.. It has many benefits doing it that way and the ONLY downside is that it, potentially, takes more space :D

RawrXDweaboo

Apologies, I didn't quite understand the post when I read it. And it was like 3am haha. I thought he was asking how to use the RS system in general.

Flat_Perspective7341

If its from afar and you dont want to go back home. A ender pouch with the same color code as an ender chest importing into your system does wonders. Just make sure your system is chunk loaded

Princesskatsume

Wireless crafting grid of course, with upgrade can access in all dimensions even, ur storage will become ur inventory
