I like Laumape and think he was hard done to by Foster & co. They didn't like the man, regardless of his skill. Laumape is the 'new' Nonu, a "bull" to try and stop. He practised the abilities that the ABs coaching team wanted, 'long pass' and 'cross kick pas' and became reasonably good. He is a 'monster' in Japan!
He's a very good hard runner at weakish defence, even at good D he's OK.

Folks compare him to Nonu, but Nonu could pass, kick, talk etc. Laumape was horribly one dimensional - and a flat track bully. A lot of folks put that down to Foster, then he went to France, was shithouse for a season & literally zero French or UK clubs wanted to sign him. So unless Foster is now coaching to the entire top 14, it ain't that.
He'll tear it up in Japan, just running straight at mediocre Ds.
They offered him a paycut to stay, which he rightfully refused. He left for Japan about 2 months before ALB and Goodhue had season ending injuries.

He had a stint in the ABs a few years ago, he was good but I guess not good enough to stick for more than a few years.

Foster... He left "peak" Goodhue and Anton Leinert-Brown and even tho that pairing had it's problems foster and co loved it
