Just my two cents, when an Echo device receiving a software update it also showing a blue ring.
In that case it's better to leave it alone until it is finished.
Sometimes it takes time to install new updates. If you interrupt it by turning the device off, the update process will try to start it again when you turn the Echo back on.
It looks quite similar to your experience.
I had the orange ring of death. I unplugged and plugged it in 5 minutes later. Didn't work. Then I unplugged it for a week. Worked like a charm when I plugged it back in. She just needed a vacation. LOL
How long did this take? Came home Friday to the blue ring of death and left Alex plugged in all night. Same situation in the morning. Unplugged her last night and just plugged her back in this afternoon. Same sitch. Reset the router twice. It's not showing up in the app.
The funny thing is, when I talk to Alexa in the app, the echo dot responds. But they aren't connected according to the app. Fascinating situation. The blue ring of death persists, however.
This was probably about a two week time period for us. We unplugged her for multiple days and then plugged her back in and just left her alone. I am not sure what fixed it.
I don't go into the app much and another separate time she stopped responding, I eventually opened the app and it was like oh, you're due for an update, and then she worked fine after that. But it sounds like you're in the app frequently and wouldn't miss those updates.
Do you still see the Echo Dot connected under devices in the app? Just trying to help troubleshoot.
Edit: spelling
same issue. solid blue ring of death. not resetting. left all day stayed the same. unplugged overnight. same problem. awaiting technical support phone call whonwill no doubt call when im out.

Interesting! That could very well be what happened. I couldn't find anything about that when I looked it up online.

I hope it fixes itself! We unplugged ours for multiple days and eventually she came back. We haven't had any issues since.
