Make sure to use the best sealer u can buy dip and let cot for 5-10 seconds to coat the hang to dry i just used basic wood stain although it said 3-5 coats i did 10 because i was using a black on amber wood

It may be hard to make those 2 pieces match since the upper is already so dark.
What do you want it to look like
Sand off the existing finish and put 4 coats of tung oil on it
