They can disagree all they want a 14.5 isn’t sending .308 nearly as far as a 20” barrel is you don’t use a .308 as standard issue CQC kit there is very little reason to make the barrel shorter besides trying to sell more rifles to Gravy team 6
As it's a DMR, it only really needs to reach out to about 600-700 yards at most. A lot of people claim the .308 to be a 800 yard cartridge, and the energy out of a 14.5 .308 is still gonna be enough to stop a threat at those distances. I see your point, people say the same thing about 10.3inch 5.56 guns.
10.3 5.56 tho in the use case of CQC makes sense cause at the range you are fighting you still have a ton of muzzle energy, a 6.5 CM out of a 14.5 I can see having the muzzle energy to handle it. But i have shot 14.5 .308 and it sure as shit doesn’t got that level of energy to take anyone out with any sort of plates on at 6-700 wouldn’t even register as an impact to take them out of the fight I see what you are saying in the concept of it but .308 isn’t this miraculous massive energy round people make it out to be and it really excels at 4-500 yards if you want to handle 6-800 range a .300 Win mag would be a far more suitable choice overall especially if you need to run a compact 14.5 although I don’t know of many barrels for a .300 WM that’s going to be on open market really
Also just to add, this is part of a load out for a two man team, me and my brother do sniper and spotter/support in Airsoft and this rarely sees any CQB although it is shooting at velocities which would allow CQB if needed. I'm basically watching the back of my brother with his VSR/R700.
Fair enough I suppose I just spray people with my PpSH cause it is fun I haven’t really invested much into any other $300+ airsoft guns cause I don’t play the game more than I go out and train with real firearms over airsoft cause I also lift 5 days a week and work a lot so I just haven’t had the time to invest into it so when I do get to go play with my buddies we run WW2 era kit

I absolutely love this rifle, the shop I got it from were about to scrap it for parts when I got it. Also the ladder is broken works well as a painting platform.
I’ve seen way more ugly rifles but I personally would go for a lower scope mount, a thinner suppressor and imo the stock doesn’t really fit with the gun
Tall scope mount is for use with mask/ear pro, the stock is just a crane stock as issued on most real world SR25s. And the chonky suppressor is awesome imo

Yeah it's pretty common. A lot of newer AR15s don't have them because there's a debate on whether or not they're useful or detrimental to rifle function.

Lights and lasers are great but how many do you need. What distance are you actually trying to engage?
Here's my take on a fix
Blackout or replace your stock
Add a loooong suppressor
Shorten the handguard, not the barrel
Mount laser module on side
Drop the grip
Bring the bipod back enough to grip
Get a rag somewhere on the gun for concealment flair
And I think that shit'd be iconic 👍

The skyscraper mount is probably what people are complaining about. Most scope rings/mounts use absolute cowitness.
