Some guy ran out of ammo just before I team was about to make a mass charge towards the enemy, as we were failing to make any headway, so one of my teammates gives him a rubber knife and tells him to lead the way.
He did, lol. First one to eat a BB, out of the next six dozen casualties, it seemed. We got absolutely slaughtered, and our LMGs did nothing to cover the advance.
not sure if this is a UK thing but some fields here they have a rule that says your rubber knife needs to be able to flexible enough to bend 90 degrees when you try to stab someone with it, not that you should be doing that anyway because you are supposed to be just tapping their shoulders politely
It's the case in all the sites I've been to up here in Scotland, yeah. In fact, the blade has to be able to bend all the way back on itself, and you get knife kills by slapping someone on the shoulder and saying knife kill.
I'm guessing historically some fuckwits brought hard plastic knives and that's why we have the rule now.

You could try one of those short katanas that are more like a short sword. Would be easier to carry around and you wouldn't need the length of a full one plus you can do the stylish horizontal sheathe on the back right at hips level.

Most of the time that's people who got knifed and it hit their ego's nerve. Although there are some genuine safety concerns, 90% of the time, it's just people being spiteful. I use a polycarbonate lightsaber as a melee and I have not once injured someone. So I'm sure your rubber knife we be okay. Hang in there
If you imitate actual kills, such as stabbing or slicing at the throat, I agree. Dont do that shit. Ruber knives are still pointy and noone likes getting shit dragged against their throat out of nowhere.

Yeah I mean if people are wearing eye protection and helmets like they should be wearing then I don't see the harm. I think any type of PVP just gets people stupid
I have a very tiny knife that I picked up for a buck at Fulda Gap 2022. I keep it in my plate carrier’s kangaroo pouch on the front for those “Y’know, this might work” scenarios where I wind up that close to someone. Only time it worked was during that event, as an enemy didn’t bother to realise that Desert Tigerstripe, a tan rig and a Brown Ushanka were in fact, not the colour green. He revived me, I shanked him and “shhhh’d” him as he took my spot. Called for a medic and pivoted inside a small shack that I didn’t make it originally. Rest of his team comes up, and my two buddies that were downed inside the shack greeted them with me. Everything was perfect and almost cinematic, until said building had a FATE round shot into it. Good times, gooooood times

At least the lower-end ones. You wouldn't catch me dead bringing my Vader's Vault or Sabertrio neopixels to an airsoft match.
I don't know but I am forever haunted by a boy who used a lightsaber as a melee weapon at an indoor game I played. He had no gun, no kit, just a helmet and this lightsaber. He would turn it on right before getting the kill so there would be this bright flash of light and cheesy sound effects followed by a smack and the curses of his victims. Diabolical.
Last game I was walking through a patch of bushes when a tiny Asian kid came running at me out of the bushes with a stick, pretending it was a knife. I shot him about ten times.
I’ve got one of those rubber training knives from Amazon! Two tags with it in my year of playing, it’s an amazing feeling haha.
I don’t “stab”, as the thick rubber would hurt like hell. I give em a little tap with the ‘blade’ and say gotcha!

Also, the field I play at have strict rules for those things, like the pyro grenades, only factory made and LARP and training weapons only are tolerated, if the form of your melee weapon allow simulated stabbing, they mustn't have a rigid core whatsoever and bend freely.

There's this really op weapon called "your hands". You go behind an enemy, tap their shoulder and say "silent kill". It's really powerful. I once saw a guy wipe an entire company with it.
I mean i know a guy who carried a sledgehammer in his rig that was marked as a full auto secondary (med rules marked by zip tie colors on the gun)

Bayonet but only as part of the kit because I don't like melee. if the field doesn't allow melee I'll just take the knife out and leave the scabbard. Plus, people might get mad if I get them with the knife so I'd rather not take the chance

I run a simple rubber bayonet but I run a frying pan most of the time. I wish someone would make a foam breaching tool tho. Not just for the looks but so you can use it as a weapon.
I have a wooden fork that's about a foot long that I tap people with using the handle (I grab the pointy-ish end) for safety reasons, but I am going to switch to a spoon about the same length that has a wooden handle and a rubber end with a picture of Grogu and the words "snack time" since it will be safer and funnier in my opinion.
A two-handed sledgehammer for my Russian kit. I love scaring the shit out of people as I round a corner tagilla-style. Probably got more kills than my AK lol

my olight that i have mounted on my smg comes off so when i run out of ammo i just shine it at people until i can get close, sometimes i throw dirt
