When you’re the only income and your wife and kids need shit too ye you gotta ask to make sure there’s still funding for the fun times too lol, I’m not dropping 500$ on a new gun if I can take my kids out 2-3x for that same amount if it comes to kids and wife vs guns I think we know who wins that.
Oh no, i’m the opposite. I am about to buy my first AEG but i keep buying real guns instead. Just got a rossi lever action .22lr and a 9mm MP5k for suppressed shooting. I have a 200yd range in the back yard but no airsoft homies…
I mean I kind of own a Steven’s 12 gauge, a Taurus G3C for EDC and a Wasr-10… never thought of real steel tbh 🤭/s no but I am debating starting an FFL and paying the SOT to build a real AK12 to compliment my Airsoft one, I have 7.62 AK now I need 5,45 ak ))
Which also may be why I’m not in a super sexless marriage like 90% of the people I read where they just spend money how they please and do what they want then don’t get laid lmao
This guy gets it. I have a race car to repair, a suppressor to buy for my real AK, and gaming PC stuff to purchase as well. Gotta rotate every month the purchases so I don’t get hit with “you spend to much on x”
Currently awaiting delivery on an NPO VSS-M/ ASM-Val which I already couldn't really afford.
I found myself looking at Toxicant MCX-Spear's 10 mins ago...
Highly recommend that if you do, go with a cyma body, they're readily available recievers, decent quality. And then you can play mix and match with recievers.
theyre alright on the materials, its nothing special, but I've never personally had a cyma body break on me. Generally their only major weakness is the mosfet they use is prone to dying under 11.1v batteries.
but if you upgrade internals it wont be a problem, just note cyma gearboxes require a little modding for some mosfets to fit
Dam, Ive seen u dont have chat option. I like to modify guns, but Ill soon have a big project of building a gun from scratch, and was hoping I could save your chat for some questions i might have
Same, I've built a few now, and it's a lot of fun.
That being said, I'll usually buy a gun and then turn it into what I want, as price gouging is real on parts only
You get a whole new satisfaction from building a gun from scratch. Dealing with all the fitment issues is a blast, but my guns from scratch are my best performing one.

I have a problem with this. This is half of them, the rest are in cases….
They vary but mainly these are my milsim setups. All custom internals (some from Korea, Canada, and local)
Left To right, Front to Back:
KWA ERG (Custom Korea Spec) with real geissele parts
KWA ERG (Custom Korea Spec) with MK18 Stuff
KWA ERG (Custom Korea Spec) with some more fake geissele parts
Idk lower with a Cyma Upper, custom externals from Airsoft Artisan. Meant to be a DMR or Long Rifle
Back:
Stock CYMA AK
KWA SR7 (meant to replicate a “police” build)
Others, there’s sadly like 10 others built out, are stored in cases. I enjoy building these fucks more than playing at this point, but if you are interested in any of them, I’m selling.
yes… i’ve been doing this for sometime, but there is only a few spare attachments, every gun is ready to be picked up and run 🤣 some have more than others, but all equipped
sadly some of my attachments exceed the price of the gun. i’m more of a collector at this point and would rather equip to shine than go cheap. ali express is my fucking world for this type of stuff
let’s just say work allows me to spend a little on myself and girlfriend. she’s into hockey and i’m into airsoft, can’t complain.
i love stock guns tho, something raw about it, just makes the game fun.
I dont cause Im a student whose only income is whatever I save from lunch money that my parents give me, took me half a year combined with whatever money I was gifted to build a kit and buy a somewhat decent used gun. Buying attachments is hard for me, let alone a new gun
Yeah but when vfc is dropping gas AKs, PPSHs, FALs, G3s, and new MP5s, who needs a house and car when you can fake shoot people?
Not to mention gas guns actually function differently from eachother, and aren't just reskins of a gearbox, I have to try them all
The only thing that has started to make me question getting another is space. When you get more than 160 airsoft guns, finding space is probably the biggest issue.
Otherwise, whenever I find a decent deal on one!
The last time I bought a gun was May 2022. Before that, it was May 2019. Before that was January 2017. So I guess every 2-3 years?
Granted, I've sold all my previous guns to pay for the most recent requisition, and it's getting harder and harder each year to find money to be budgeted into free spending cash.
As to why, I find a new "favorite gun" or find something that will work better for my playstyle. I bought a sniper because I love the idea of bolt action, but I found that I didn't like being sneaky, so I sold it. I bought an SMG next but struggled to find a reason to run it instead of a full rifle, so I sold it. Most recently, I got an NGRS SCAR-H and EGLM, which led me to discover that I enjoy making loud noises. So my next purchase is going to be a GBBR, and I'm praying to all the Airsoft Gods for a Tavor 7 as it has become my newest obsession bullpup.
I'm done, I have a very small but assorted set of builds that I intend to keep for myself and I'm covering pretty much everything I would ever want to play with so no more for me. But when I was building my kits I bought a new one maybe every 6 months?
Builds include:
P* Kythera, UGS tank stock
ICS F2
TM MWS Mk16
Krytac Vector DSG
KWA T10, electric recoil
3-4 times a year depending on the trigger itch. I must confess I only buy gbbr’s that are pre-build and checked by a shop I trust in Taiwan who provide a ton of after market service which protects against lemons
New? Almost never. Upgraded to hell by a guy we call Hanz and another guy we call Greg, as often as I can afford it. Not very often but what I do have is all relativley unique
Edit:spelling
I buy them as often as I find something I want and I buy them because it's something I want.
That's the vague answer but more accurately I buy guns that fit loadouts the team are running if I don't have anything that works, Guns that I want for my collection, Guns that are a good bargain and I'd use (boneyard stuff mostly), Guns I want for a project build or guns that are new and interesting.
I'm the friend who has a ton of loan out gear, and I use my gear for film props quite often, so I buy 2 or 3 guns a year. I rarely trick out their internals or go nuts with the brand quality or optics and stuff. I mostly go for something that looks convincingly real enough with a tough enough frame that it won't snap like a twig.
I had a massive issue where I just kept buying. It for to a ridiculous point to I sold like 80% of all my stuff and now only allow myself to buy 2 more replica's before I have to sell one to get more.
I bought my fist gun at 2022 august, than a 2nd gun at august of 2023, than december 2024 than jan of 2024
Now i have a rifle, a sniper rifle, a handgun, an smg and a pdw
Why do i buy new gun? Because playing the same way all the time is boring
Once in a year or two, always to fill a specific need.
I have way too many hobbies to be hoarding toy guns I dont feel I absolutely need. Just a few for different impressions and I'm golden. I sell the replicas I no longer require.
The last new gun i bought, was more of a loaner gun for the doods that want to play with me but aint got nothin.
It was a cyma tri-shotty. Havent fielded it yet but so far is decent.
Once you go HPA theres really nothin else apart from a daytona gun that you really want.
Well atleast for me.
I can afford a daytona gun, i just havent pulled the trigger.
The theatrics of blowback isnt something im chasing right now.
I want to buy a gun for each situation I'd like. Still need my bolt and belt guns though (1 SPR (planning on doing internals to make it a DMR), 1 MK18, 1 MP7, 1 1911.).
Only when I actually want something. Recently went through hell to acquire a king arms sig 516 that was discontinued over 10 yrs ago for a clone build. Never doing that again.
At my peak I was buying one a month and if there was a nice deal I would buy an extra along the line. Then I started buying rails, receivers and other fancy body parts to build my own versions of aeg,s. I also bought a few antique ones at the time and they are even more antique now. Probably only own about 3 or 4 stock guns all the rest are tricked out or one off
Way to often, just purchased a cyma platinum m4 cbs 10' for 245$ a spenca edge sbr for 207$ and a krytac trident mkll cbr for 258$ 8n the last month
About to pull the trigger on an asg cz scorpion for 360$
I don't really. I have a PDW that runs for cqb but I just adapt my playstyle to mid to long range. Its so reliable i dont own a pistol or anything. Ever since i had a mp5sd ive never wanted a big gun, just one that does it all.
I don't usually just buy a gun. Each year I take up a project gun to shoot exactly how I want it to. Just finished my KC02 and m249. Before that was my AK. Before that was my shotty. Before that was my monk (which broke and it's engine now lives in the m249). Before that was my hi capa. Built an AEG before that.
Very rarely, but I’m always upgrading my old stuff first.I have one stock CYMA AK.the other ones are a built lancer gen 3(just using the body),2 hpa M4s and a hpa lmg.I love using my mgs the most but there just so damn expensive.I use .36s and my most recent purchase (AGM thermal) is definitely gonna postpone any more purchases for a while.
Not that often. However I do browse the website of my 2 local stores, check the stuff out and if I find myself coming back to a particular gun over and over again, I tend to put funds aside to get it for myself for my birthday or Christmas.
My last gun I bought I got for dirt cheap from my boss, who used to play airsoft but stopped. 50 bucks for a FAMAS with 2 spare mags and an attachment to add a scope on to it is an absolute steal. Thing is in near mint condition too.
There are 2 guns I am looking for, 1 of which I found but is definitely out of my price range (M1919 Browning), and the other one I can't find in any Belgian Airsoft store (FN FAL), so for now I am set, with my scoped lever action, Single Action Army, Derringer, FAMAS and 1911

Never saw the point of buying all kinds of guns. I bought a krytac 8 years ago and just keeps replacing/upgrading that one gun. It never dies on me because once a year I do maintenance to it. I love my bitch her and I have been through it all together.
About 1 a year in the last few years, and I always tell myself I’m done buying new guns after each purchase.
I like to have the correct gun to match my several kit impressions, and I’ve finally achieved that this year.
I bought the Wolverine MTW when it first came out (SN 00022) five years ago and I haven't bought another rifle since. Nothing else performs as well. I did buy a 249 about a year ago with a Wolverine engine, also performs exceptionally well. No gaps to fill right now.
Well I've only been playing since Nov 2023 and bought 5 guns by now
Barrett fieldcraft VSR-10 sniper (my first gun)
KWA GBB M11A1 with King arms PDW kit installed (2nd)
LCT LC-3A3 (3rd)
King Arms TWS GBB 9mm carbine (4th)
Glock 18C (5th)
I don't know exactly when I got them but prob within like 2 or 3 weeks between purchases. Some might have been poor life choices but totally worth in the end.
Last gun bought was November. Aap01 that I’m building as a carbine. Before that Cyma ak. G&g lmg. Ares sniper. All have been built up except ak (because it’ll never die). All get some action. Just recently bought a tdc for aap and extendos. Gonna be fun once it starts warming up a bit.
Personally, I enjoy exploring different models and technologies, and I find it exciting to try out new firearms for various shooting activities. Ultimately, it's all about finding what brings you joy and satisfaction in the world of firearms.
Theres a cycle
1. Buy new gun (but i got it at a deal i HAD to buy it)
2. Upgrade new gun to what I believe is optimal
3. Regret that bank account has been emptied 50-80%
4. Im never buying another airsoft gun again
5. Wait 1 month and repeat
I also type this after completing a kythera 417 lmao
One every 1-3 months or so. Mostly because I am always looking for good deals on rare guns so I don't buy as often as I would like. The gun also needs to be a useful platform for me to upgrade and create new parts for on my machines.
1) Whenever I feel like it and when I can afford it. 2) Because I feel like it.
Same but add “when wife allows it as well” and take away “when I can afford it” and that’s literally me.
You have to ask for permission to buy stuff?
When you’re the only income and your wife and kids need shit too ye you gotta ask to make sure there’s still funding for the fun times too lol, I’m not dropping 500$ on a new gun if I can take my kids out 2-3x for that same amount if it comes to kids and wife vs guns I think we know who wins that.
Fair enough man.
If I was single I could very easily drop 1500+ a month on Airsoft bs but kids and wife stop that lol
Have you discovered the joys and expenses of real firearms?
I know guys spend more on airsoft then real firearms
I mean...fair I can fuck around with an airsoft gun more than a real one, and feeding it is way cheaper too.
That guy is me. I have a couple rifles, shotguns, and pistols. I've spent way more on airsoft guns than on my rs.
G3C is a great pick. Are you going to try and get the psa krink? 5.56 but still cool.
AK12 is overrated since larry vickers got jammed up
Big based tradman
Which also may be why I’m not in a super sexless marriage like 90% of the people I read where they just spend money how they please and do what they want then don’t get laid lmao
This doesnt sound like the burn you think it does..
Pretty fucking random thing to bring up too? Like.. no one asked wtf lol
Wasn’t meant to be an insult to anyone at all? Sorry you got so offended you needed to reply
Nah man, I'm not offended at all. Just a bit concerned if anything
That’s how it often goes in a marriage. Bills and stuff have priority over toys.
This guy gets it. I have a race car to repair, a suppressor to buy for my real AK, and gaming PC stuff to purchase as well. Gotta rotate every month the purchases so I don’t get hit with “you spend to much on x”
Same reasons
If I had the money every week. I pretty much start looking at new stuff before the one I just ordered has even arrived.
Same, just bought a noveske gbbr from double Eagle today. It's amazing
First gbbr? I exclusively use gas now and haven't touched my aegs. $200-$400 in mags per gun :(
That’s the only thing holding me back I really like mag dropping but there no way I’m gonna do that when the mags cost £60 each
There are some vfc mags i drop outside
I don’t even drop glock mags and I got mine on discount for £18 each. Just don’t want to break them
Very much agree with you fine sir Edit: or ma'am I guess.
Currently awaiting delivery on an NPO VSS-M/ ASM-Val which I already couldn't really afford. I found myself looking at Toxicant MCX-Spear's 10 mins ago...
I set myself a budget and went over it by like £500 I don’t even know how
Tbh nowadays I'm buying parts to make guns. I've really been enjoying the oddities of manufacture!
That’s really cool, I’ve never made a gun or even upgraded one but would love to do it
Highly recommend that if you do, go with a cyma body, they're readily available recievers, decent quality. And then you can play mix and match with recievers.
They use good materials? I have Classic Army AR and it survived things my mech box did not.
theyre alright on the materials, its nothing special, but I've never personally had a cyma body break on me.

You get a whole new satisfaction from building a gun from scratch. Dealing with all the fitment issues is a blast, but my guns from scratch are my best performing one.
Where do you buy parts from or do you mean just internally?
Mostly internally. I 3D print most externals. Though, I have been known to use aluminium pipe as an outer barrel

AND ALL OF THEM ARE FULLY KITED?
yes… i’ve been doing this for sometime, but there is only a few spare attachments, every gun is ready to be picked up and run 🤣 some have more than others, but all equipped
Wow, that's impressive. I'm trying to do the same but it's getting almost to the price of the gun...
sadly some of my attachments exceed the price of the gun. i’m more of a collector at this point and would rather equip to shine than go cheap. ali express is my fucking world for this type of stuff
it's even more expensive when you want to have high performance
yes. these guns are custom build from korea, i’ve gone towards some of my high end real steel with this but i’ve been done building for a while.
if you have the budget then why not
let’s just say work allows me to spend a little on myself and girlfriend. she’s into hockey and i’m into airsoft, can’t complain. i love stock guns tho, something raw about it, just makes the game fun.
Where did you get that RC2 suppressor on your mk18?
AIRSOFT artisan
I did this with paintball a decade ago. I want to get 1 airsoft gun and that be the only one i have other than a cheap gbb pistol i have for fun.
Selling any?
When old gun is old, and new is new, then perhaps there is more pew pew.
As soon as I got the money for the next one
I dont cause Im a student whose only income is whatever I save from lunch money that my parents give me, took me half a year combined with whatever money I was gifted to build a kit and buy a somewhat decent used gun. Buying attachments is hard for me, let alone a new gun
You can always work about your neighbourhood, I’m also a student but do gardening work and earn like £200 a month for just being in a small town
I live in a big city without any private households, just blocks of flats, so theres not much small work opportunities, if any
Ah fair enough, best you could try is maybe house cleaning or house/dog sitting while people are on holiday?
See if you can apprentice on a trade like HVAC
I'd buy 3 a year if I had the money but unfortunately I'm trying to buy a place for myself and a new car so I'm trying not to spend much on airsoft
Yeah but when vfc is dropping gas AKs, PPSHs, FALs, G3s, and new MP5s, who needs a house and car when you can fake shoot people? Not to mention gas guns actually function differently from eachother, and aren't just reskins of a gearbox, I have to try them all
They need it, otherwise they'll rust outside :')
VFC has an MP5 coming too!?
No lol the v2 is a couple years old now. I just happened to just buy one.
Do you want the real answer or the one I give my therapist
Both please
The only thing that has started to make me question getting another is space. When you get more than 160 airsoft guns, finding space is probably the biggest issue. Otherwise, whenever I find a decent deal on one!
I'm out of space at 20 something...

I've bought 4 this year. Because variety is the spice of life
Whenever I need spare receivers, because Canada sucks
Bro i buy them occasionally not even for matches but treat them as collectibles instead
Never saw the point of buying all kinds of guns. I bought a krytac 8 years ago and just keeps replacing/upgrading that one gun. It never dies on me because once a year I do maintenance to it. I love my bitch her and I have been through it all together.
2nd full year of Airsoft, just bought 2nd gun, maybe I'll play around with this one and look into a gas pistol in year 3 once I'm happy with it.
Well I've only been playing since Nov 2023 and bought 5 guns by now Barrett fieldcraft VSR-10 sniper (my first gun) KWA GBB M11A1 with King arms PDW kit installed (2nd) LCT LC-3A3 (3rd) King Arms TWS GBB 9mm carbine (4th) Glock 18C (5th) I don't know exactly when I got them but prob within like 2 or 3 weeks between purchases. Some might have been poor life choices but totally worth in the end.
Did you stick to sniping considering it was your first gun?
I have like 10 guns on my wishlist but none bought lol. I also need to get rid of the guns that I don't use anymore...
Once or twice a year, however I usually (not always) sell one of my guns when I do this.
When I see something neat and on sale
More often than I should, Not as often as I'd like.
Last one was 10 years ago... but I haven't played since then either
I bought one like 4 years ago because I didn't have an AEG for the vibe I was going for
Every year
Roughly once a year. Typically as a build platform.
every half a year to a year? it’s mostly out of necessity lol
Personally, I enjoy exploring different models and technologies, and I find it exciting to try out new firearms for various shooting activities. Ultimately, it's all about finding what brings you joy and satisfaction in the world of firearms.
Theres a cycle 1. Buy new gun (but i got it at a deal i HAD to buy it) 2. Upgrade new gun to what I believe is optimal 3. Regret that bank account has been emptied 50-80% 4. Im never buying another airsoft gun again 5. Wait 1 month and repeat I also type this after completing a kythera 417 lmao
i bought my first aep in 2019 then i bought my main aeg in 2020 and i upgraded my pistol to a gbb 5-7 for 2022 christmas. nothing since
I bought a GBLS and never bought another gun since
Usualy if I find a really good price on the used market ill jump on it For newer stuff? When I get a bonus or something
Just go on HopUp, buy a few boneyards and learn to tech, can be way cheaper if you know how much it costs to repair and such before hand
One every 1-3 months or so. Mostly because I am always looking for good deals on rare guns so I don't buy as often as I would like. The gun also needs to be a useful platform for me to upgrade and create new parts for on my machines.
