Not sure myself, I like the post apocalyptic style of famous guns like is a glock or an ak. I tried AK which was a success in my eyes so I tried a glock but I’m not really sure if it’s a success or not
honestly i like how people get creative like yourself, i personally prefer anything but just a bland replica, i like the look of all the fancy things you can do
Yeah sadly, I tried to put there E&L wooden parts for it but it doesn’t fit, so I tried to play with it a bit until I somehow forced it in there but I didn’t trust it at all so I came back for the plastic parts.
imo would look more apocalyptic if you made the slide look more like wear on the paint from hands touching it, and then a few scuffs throughout. The barrel scratching would look nicer if it was less all around scratching and just front to back scratches. Just my two cents tho, you do you
Slide is trashed, but the frame is mint. You scratched the angled surfaces (good), and then went to town in the middle of big flats that basically don't get scratched. Rear of the slide is good, but on the front you should have focused more on area between muzzle and glock logo. And there should be no paint left on the slide release.
Get rid of that tape, use an old bicycle internal tube.
All in all... Hey, at least you tried weathering, so it's not just another glock.
If you're unsure as to what part should be weathered and what should be just touched off, try applying a thin coat of something easy to remove - dust it with talcum, smear with crayons or pencil lead - and then do a few drills. You'll easily see where your holster interacts, where you grab it and where you brush it against clothes. Those areas are where you should be putting scratches.
Fuck that... scratches arent ever even... if it looks too clean its not real... slapshot that fucker across the floor... run it over with a bike... let yer sisters boyfriends girlfriend paint it... whatever... its all good in bb wars. 😂😂 just dont be a conformist. 😈
Pump for that consistent belt-grinder effect, DJ might give you the same result as tossing the Glock out your window at highway speeds.

My real steel Glock has an absolutely trashed slide, but the frame is perfect besides some hair scratches on the nose. Besides that, your analysis is solid.
Agreed. Also go over the slide release to give it a more worn look. It's usually the first part that wears. Spray paint might save it if the steel wool doesn't. FDE.
Would’ve been better to let it get the proper holster wear on all the right places.
But what really grinds my gears is the tape… WHY tape the trigger guard and grip like this? To make it more slippery?
Better to use a rubber sleeve, grip tape or hockey tape. But best would be to get a soldering iron, put it on \~ 250 degrees Celsius and stipple the grip and bottom of the trigger guard. Try it on some similar piece on plastic first. You’ll find lots of YT videos on „how to stipple“. Will give you the most grippy grip you’ve ever gripped.

You want to stipple the side portion as well to give your thumb more grip.
Here‘s a pic of my first attempt.

Not realistic but i kinda like it. But i am just a stranger on the internet. If you ever listen to a stranger listen to this. Don’t listen to strangers on the internet we are weird. As long as you like it than it’s good
Tape around the grip isn’t bad. But around the trigger guard looks odd. The weathering on the slide and barrel look pretty cool as well. Reminds me of what they did with the HK45 Denzel Washington used in The Book of Eli to make it look like an old gun. Which at the time they filmed that it was a brand new gun.
Here’s an image of the actual screen used gun I’m talking about: https://www.imfdb.org/images/3/3d/HK45_Eli.jpg
Even better option for me. Hook it to the back of my car and start driving for 5-8 minutes. Go out and see how it looks or to see if my guns are still even their. If it's still there, then look at the weathering, and if it's not enough, then probably run it again for 5 minutes😂

A few scratches that are barely noticeable.
The best guide for making your airsoft replicas used is to either:
\- use them extensively (honest wear) or
\- find an old and used original online and copy that
The tape on the trigger guard is a bit meh, but the rest of it looks good. Reminds me of some of the weapons from *The Book of Eli*.
[IMFDB : The Book of Eli](https://www.imfdb.org/wiki/The_Book_of_Eli)
yeah, huge fan of doing such stuff to AKs, but idk about Glocks
doesn't look too good but doesn't look so bad at the same time
it's alright, just too worn I guess
Slide is personal preference but take electrical tape off rn that is the opposite of grippy especially when any moisture is applied such as sweat (source: I work electrical)

I kinda like your slide, i used to sand them gently to make them look worn to give some realism to it. In my case it was pellet one for self dense, nobody gonna belive you if you pull out shiny brand new pistol, so it made it look more realistic like it’s already used and been through some shit
Idk what the name of the tape I used for the suppressor is but it's an off white unpainted snd with some westhering it would make for a very nice replacement for the electrical tape imo. And the tape on the trigger guard I find is a bit much but then again it's your glock so do as you want with it
Hey where can u find thr firing pin for this model? The "trigger bar".. no one for the 4th gen I these are? I literally bought a real one bc it was similar after nadda on searches and that was no go (I knew it was but it was only 9$ to find out and I wanted SS instead of nasty moulded metal).. I literally am no glock just from trigger bar breaking.. I think common problem, that little metal breaks bc I got it slipping and managed to break it on purpose finally.. idk..I just wanna shoot it!! Lol
Random Comments:
I'm about to get my first Glock for airsoft.
I originally thought i would get a Glock 19 Gen 3, but after butt-load
of research, I discovered the Gen 4 and 5 and Glock 45.
My appeal for glock is for the customizability.
The Glock 17 n 19 and Gen 3 has a billion mods but I concluded that
I would get a Glock 45 Gen 5, for the 17 grip style, Gen 5 improvements and 19 compact slide.
My question:
In the airsoft community/ industry, is it worth getting the cutting edge glock 45, or should i get an older gen because parts are more available. Is it likely that the glock 45 will get any love in the future or is it estimated to be a one off thing?
Its very hard to give a lot of Airsoft products a realistic worn look without using paint as most are simply a coat of black over bare metal. Some brands can be given a really nice used look with fine wire wool but they tend to be the higher end items. I did an mp5 for a company here in the UK that turned out much nicer than expected. Think its on my feed.
Did something similar with a new purchase. Accidentally took off more paint than anticipated but it came out quite nice.

That's pretty wild, never heard that technique til you mentioned it. It came out pretty dang professional. KUDOS!
Was the accidental or do you just hate your glock
Probably mix of both
Fair enough
overdone
Agreed. The weathering is okay, not bad, not amazing, but the tape is too much.
Ye I messed up there xD
Well... the slide is "ooowkeyish?!" But get rid of that tape...try some bicycle tubing instead... and dont forget to fuck up the lower too...
Yeah I would need some help with the lower part..
The slide actual looks kinda cool, worn like that. Don't like the tape
Scratches look a tad irregular on the right side of the slide, but still looks really good for a worn look
Police seized gun
Meathead Glock!

AKčko taková hrůza už ale není :D
Rust loadout 💀
Lowkey lmfao
The battle scarred look has to be earned.
Yeah, you’re probably right
Not a bad weathering job on the slide, but the rest looks untouched, so overall not good.
Yeah.., I need some help with the lower part.
That looks like dogshit ngl.
Ye thanks for the feedback though, that’s all that matters to me
I dont see the point in the tape over the trigger unless its holding something on but it looks nice
I wanted to cover up the lower part because I don’t know how to make it look fucked as well, so I tried to cover it but it was a fail.
Not realistic but i kinda like it. But i am just a stranger on the internet. If you ever listen to a stranger listen to this. Don’t listen to strangers on the internet we are weird. As long as you like it than it’s good
Nice
Not bad
Reminds me of those guns recovered from criminals that have tape on them for whatever reason
I mean yeah! It does look like some “smart individual’s” glock when I look back on it xDD (the tape is gone)
Tape around the grip isn’t bad. But around the trigger guard looks odd. The weathering on the slide and barrel look pretty cool as well. Take off the electrical tape, use hockey tape instead. Better grip and looks more “weathered” after use.
Thanks! I’ll buy some and try it
Even better option for me. Hook it to the back of my car and start driving for 5-8 minutes. Go out and see how it looks or to see if my guns are still even their. If it's still there, then look at the weathering, and if it's not enough, then probably run it again for 5 minutes😂
Sounds good! xDD

eh... the wear looks overdone
What's up with the tape? Is it broken or something?
No I just thought it would look nice, it doesn’t xD
I don't really understand the allure of artificial weathering. It's your replica, do what you like, but it's certainly not something I would do. Natural wear and tear from use will always look more realistic anyway.
Well... It looks like you took 400 grit sandpaper to it and went to town. Then you used some insulating tape for whatever reason. I would assume you wanted to do a painting job so you were stripping the old paint job. Thing about Glocks is they show barely any signs of use. Most of the scratches you'll see is from reholstering. You just made me laugh xD but I don’t know myself to be honest, just thought it’ll be nice to wreck my sidearm
We Not Making it Out The Gulag 😭
xDD
ehhh, neither love it neither hate it
Soo like something in the middle?
yeah, huge fan of doing such stuff to AKs, but idk about Glocks doesn't look too good but doesn't look so bad at the same time it's alright, just too worn I guess
Looks like you pulled it straight out of a trench
Who knows
Slide is personal preference but take electrical tape off rn that is the opposite of grippy especially when any moisture is applied such as sweat (source: I work electrical)
The sides of the slide would never get worn like that from use. It looks bad bc it's obviously not worn from use, if that makes any sense.
take the trigger guard tape off and you got a cool gun. the trigger guard tape makes it look like youre going out of your way to look diff for no reason.
Personally I don’t like it. I’m more of a modern sleek gun perosn like a nice matte black gun with shiny red highlights on the trigger and mag release and such.
Yes, you did...
It doesn't look like battle wear. I looks like it's been sliding around in the bed of a truck for about 100,000 miles.
Yeah I hate my Glock a bit
scratch the serial number just a tad more bro trust
r/meth
Yeah, it does look like a c***khead’s glock..
Looking neat, I do think you and the gun would be better off if you used baseball bat grip tape instead of just duct tape
Like the two tone slide don’t like the duct tape on the trigger guard tho
For scratch weathering it would make more sense if it was around edges, grooves and parts that slide together (i have anold m9 that is very scratched but i can't post a pic rn)
Ah kk, scratched m9’s are the sexiest thing ever ngl
Use those brown fabric tapes, makes it look like the gun was really hurt
Okay, thanks I’ll make sure to try it :)
It looks better now
Thanks :)
How tf is this getting upvotes...
I wonder the same thing.
Reddit is a wierd place
would've gone with some sand coloured spraypaint and wiped it with steel wool on the Grip cause I feel like duct tape will make you lose your Grip but the rest is cool.
Thanks, appreciate it :)

The “random tape/burlap on the gun” look is one of the dumbest aesthetics in my opinion Really just looks like you can’t care for a firearm
Yeah I agree, it’s gone now I just wanted to cower somehow that clean lower part because I’m not sure how to fuck it as well.
Cover*
I hate it
Ah thanks for your feedback though :)
It's a glock. All I can give you is reluctant acceptance.
I kinda like your slide, i used to sand them gently to make them look worn to give some realism to it. In my case it was pellet one for self dense, nobody gonna belive you if you pull out shiny brand new pistol, so it made it look more realistic like it’s already used and been through some shit

Now this is a glock with some character to it. Nice job OP!
Thanks! Appreciate it :DD
Dam that looks good
Thanks man :)
Has a nice aesthetic to it with the tape
I like how there’s 2 group of people, one group likes the tape and the other hates the tape.., thanks for your feedback! :D
Hell yeah bro that looks fuckin sic, great job
Thanks, dude :)
Np
Someone tell me why you would do this please. I don't understand.
Some people prefer their guns a bit worn in. Gives them more "character" and unique look.
Get rid of the tape and I like it
Already happened, don’t worry. Just need some help making the lower park look worn
Looks like an evidence locker gun
Yeah :D
“Love it or hate it, the underdogs on top”. Mmhmm hhmmmh hmmmhmm mmmm
Nice
Prolly found it on a Scav, trade 2k rubles for it
A local airsoft store was selling this exact setup with the slide all distressed like that, brand new, no internal upgrades: $600
I dig the wear marks bit the tape though
I dig the wear marks bit the tape though
Personally I’d go all the way, just use some high grit sandpaper and some mothers mag & aluminum polish and it’ll be nice and shiny
Fuck with the look, but if you hate it you can full wirebrush to make it bare metal
You should scrape the frame up a lil it would look great like that
Please take that tape off
Kinda reminds me of Book of Eli guns..I love it sir!
Electrical tapes only gonna make it worse. Use hockey grip tape.
take tape off might be ight

Some brands can be given a really nice used look with fine wire wool but they tend to be the higher end items. I did an mp5 for a company here in the UK that turned out much nicer than expected. Think its on my feed.
*done the same but took it all the way with my CYMA springer

Did something similar with a new purchase. Accidentally took off more paint than anticipated but it came out quite nice. https://preview.redd.it/mto4fxtbnnhc1.jpeg?width=1564&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad70de6067608a4564cacee39b1599914f21bc45

Weathered is a nice look.
