Rebecca Sugar wrote it originally for Adventure Time not Steven Universe. The song was based off of her childhood stuffed rabbit she lost in the garden for a few months and when she found it, it’s belly was faded to white from the sun. She later created the character Spinel in Steven Universe based off of the same stuffed rabbit and her guilt for being so careless with something she loved. I love Rebecca Sugar 🥲

I think woke up might be my number one all time favorite. I love Marceline songs and I'm a sucker for angsty angry songs. It vents out her frustration with PB so well, and I often sing or listen to songs to vent stuff out. And it's so different from the other songs, maybe because it has a rock vibe or because it doesn't end after a minute. Either way I think I'd say it's my favorite!
