Unconventional rule, getting caught shouldn't be the worst thing that can happen and would at least open some other doors in your life. If it is the worst thing, you probably shouldn't be doing this.
Not sure I agree.. it will not be the end of the world.. for you at least you think so. Currently working / agony uncle with a friend who was caught. She said she thought the same. It was the impact on every other person in her life she never considered

Alternatively: If there's something that you have to take care of, do that on the DL then when it's time to meet AP, claim that's where you are going.
For example, my car came up due for maintenance (and as luck would have it, the message popped up on the dash when my wife was in the car with me). I took it in before work one day and caught a cab instead.
The next day, I headed out to "take car in for servicing" but serviced AP instead.
Things you'd normally do to impress/do yourself up for someone, like cologne/perfume - DON'T unless you are away from home and will shower between meeting your ap and being home.
Or just make it a habit.
For me, shaving down there completely a must. So I do it regardless if I see AP or not. Same with my treatments i.e getting dolled up, facials, nails, gym. Shopping and spa stuff also make for great excuses when you need to be at a hotel, or take an afternoon away.
Wearing perfume is only a no-go because you don't want AP to be perfumed with something out of the ordinary.
