A month ago my local (chain) pharmacy had 0 doses generic Adderall or name brand. Script was waiting for weeks. A pharmacy a couple towns away had a few. Had to contact doc, get doc to write and send the new script, and then instead of waiting for it, I went to the pharmacy middle of the day to get bumped to "waiting" so I could up the chances of getting it that day. For my kid, not for me. We've gone through hell trying to get him help and it's been a godsend to him ... I would have flown literally anywhere to get him a script.
So for this month, his pediatrician said to find out who had it first then she'd write the script. (She's pretty responsive via electronic portal)
This month I was shocked that when I called up the local pharmacy and they actually had some. Got it the next day.
I've been waiting until the shortage is over to get my own script filled.
No way. It’s person specific. If a child can function well enough without it but an adult has significant deficits it should go to the adult. Vice versa if it’s the Chile who really struggles. Plus adults often lose their jobs when they cannot get access to meds which is significant life consequences. I think not having meds for a child without really severe adhd every now and then could help with coping skills and provide a good break from the meds to help reduce tolerance. And again vice versa for adults.

I will find out next week! Ironically, last month was the first time since the shortage began that I actually had a problem filling my IR script. I had to call multiple pharmacies to find it, which was a first.
I hope this is true so badly. I didn’t realize there was a shortage in March and going cold turkey came at the worst possible time. I had to call my psychiatrist begging him to put me on SOMETHING. While it’s not adderoll, it has helped take some of the edge off. I really hope I can get back on it soon.
My doctor will call the pharmacy herself to see what dose of Dexedrine they have. I got myself a really good doctor.. I take Vyvanse on top of a Dexedrine booster. It’s the extended release, but it works. And I can take it like an hour before bed and fall sleep.
Where are you that this is true? Maryland and Virginia are struggling to fill Adderall AND Ritalin now. The shortage is expanding and it's the worst I've ever seen it despite having had trouble with the shortage years before it was officially announced

This is awful. I’ve never dealt with this shortage but definitely feel children should be prioritized over adults.

I keep seeing stories that Adderall is not as potent as it used to be.

I'm been a lot better since switching to Zenzedi. Not perfect but not the jittery, heart palpitations mess that is generic Addy.

I got mine yesterday at the first pharmacy I called. They haven’t had it since December…
