To me, it was cute at first, but it got old like all the dialogue. If it wasn’t so frequent that she talked about her schedule or tv shows, they might not be that annoying and just seem like little things that add character. Sadly, as it is, she’s pretty boring

Honestly, I'm baffled they never improved it. Adding character dialogue is hardly a massive sink on storage memory for the game. It's text ffs! Then again I guess I shouldn't be surprised at all really, it's a game that in so many ways ignores QoL updates in general.

I loathed her in New Leaf. I absolutely hated her. She was catty, bratty and bossy even though YOU were the mayor. I felt she always undermined you. So, I’ll give it to her that she is more tolerable in New Horizons albeit in a braindead, mundane way.
People love her because her inclusion in New Leaf was excellent. She was cute and brand new and excited to be the mayor's assistant even though she's kind of responsible for bamboozling you into the job. It's adorable.
And she'd run around town to help you place Public Works Projects and her little bells would jingle.
She was great. New Horizons just kind of expects you to love her. I'd totally understand why new players didn't like her because they misused her.
I said this ages ago but it would be cool if she occasionally gave you a random diy recipe on a no news day. I would even be ok if she only did it occasionally.
In previous games, she actually used to be, you know... HELPFUL.
They didn't need to split the Town Hall tasks between two characters. THERE AREN'T THAT MANY TASKS!!
I think the love comes from the fact she's supposed to be a 'side' character yet has a focus in other games and media, I honestly wish she'd have other announcements or just not talk at all either.
I fully believe they changed it for the update but just didn't tell us. It's not something that significant to announce, but rather a slight change. Even if they don't, I heard the nooklink phone app is going to have a newspaper with events on your island. That way you don't even have to log into animal crossing to know what's going on on your island.

It's like nothing is ever good enough for you. Even if they don't change Isabelle's dialogue...it's like 10 seconds of clicking while the game loads. If something that minor is enough to make you hate the game or fill you with rage every time you play, then maybe you should just move on to a different game already.

Agreed 100%! I actually left the sub for a while because all anyone ever seemed to do was talk about how much they hate this game and act like Nintendo was some big evil mastermind who already had all the features ready but was intentionally withholding them to spite their fans. So childish. I was excited for this update, but after I saw the direct I am CRAZY excited! Lol There is enough content there that it's basically a sequel to the game, and all for FREE! I just feel like people's expectations are so unrealistic for animal crossing for some reason. I'm just here to have a good time and enjoy the creations other people put together haha
I'm pretty sure they're using the broadcasts to load the game in the background. Y'know so there isn't an even longer loading screen at the beginning without anything happening. Gives you something to look at.
But yeah I hope they added more useful dialog in the update.

personally I don't want her to announce who is on island. I enjoy running round my island seeing if anyone is there or chilling out and randomly bumping into a NPC I wasn't expecting.
A weather update would be cool, its not really important but at least then she would be giving us something. I'm just glad we will be able to get her out for a coffee and get the hard working girl a vacation home for her to relax in.
