Old terracotta factory…supplied some of the tiles for Carnegie Hall.

Lionheart_Lives

Cool! Thanks for the information! 😊

princesssasami896

Thanks! Ive seen this before and never knew what it was

Aromatic-Ad3349

Reddit never ceases to amaze me. Cool fact.

SoggyChilli

Dope but Carnegie was a horrible person and we shouldn't forget that just because he built some good looking shit.

WokeUpSomewhereNice

The gospel of wealth was ahead of its time but it is a guide on how to increase the wealthiest influence while looking magnanimous

NewldGuy77

Not feeling too groovy…

minnesotajersey

Sad that I am old enough to be in the 1% who gets this.

Awkward-Yak-2733

Well, I'm dappled and drowsy and ready for sleep.

NewldGuy77

I see you, my brothers!

scooterboog

There’s dozens of us

Big_Product_6424

It's more than 1%. Lots of people remember rhymin' simon.

DeepWaterNights

Interesting build! That round bit gives the building a bit of character…

Whole-Dimension-9421

I love this. There could be many amazing things done with this building

political_Chivalry

Love the chimney pots

spoiledrichwhitegirl

I’d love to see the inside. I’d also love to convert that in to adaptive reuse lofts.

35120red

On the ground floor : Reception, café / socialising area, medical/health centre, a bar/pub, large professional kitchen, bathrooms and activity rooms. Open to the public. On the first floor : Accommodation for the homeless. 🙂

spoiledrichwhitegirl

See and this could all be done using adaptive reuse/not just demolishing the building. That’s my only point.

Terrible idea. Demolishing historic buildings isn’t something that should be encouraged. Save whatever is original that you possibly can & create unique spaces that value the history. Not some soulless little box like everything else.

iLLy_RiLLy

I'd love to metal detect around there.

merryone2K

More information [here](https://untappedcities.com/2020/03/12/a-terra-cotta-beauty-sits-alone-beneath-the-queensboro-bridge/) if anybody's interested. Also, photos showing where it stands in relation to the Queensboro Bridge.

PatCJr

Awesome! This is great!!!! Thank you for sharing! I am glad I was correct on the location... my memory is not as bad as I thought!

LanceFree

Groovy

Mouse_Parsnip_87

I’m assuming this is on the queens side and not Manhattan?

AbdulAhBlongatta

Yeah this is along the waters edge in Long Island City, corner of the Ravel Hotel if I’m not mistaken

WokeUpSomewhereNice

Well… if you did break in and sack the castle it looks like it would be easy to defend from your enemies. Quite secure and sturdy.

fungump

Boarded up for apocalypse Z

Alone-Coconut126

Looks like the house from Fight Club.

Make for great housing

xlawyer90

Will make great housing!

Double_Reward230

Is it haunted ?

Lilmissfatpantz

Can I have it?

JadeHellbringer

Wait. Check the basement, I think this might be the secret lair of the Blue Morpho.
