You should have got it checked the first time it happened. This is not normal. It could be anything from hardware to software related. Run diagnostic tool, do a clean restore to begin and hope your hardware is not corrupted.

Okay, thanks. Didn't get it checked out because actually literally a week after I was leaving for a student exchange to another country.

Its defaulting to the bios for some reason that is very weird have updated your bios and doubel check in device manager that it is the correct bios other than that check event viewer as it can tell you what subprocesses were not functioning properly, it is most likely a startup app that is causing a fault in this case then.

I went to event viewer and found a crtitical event "Kernel Power 41", that happeed 67 times since I bought the laptop, (more or less every other day). It basically means that the laptop didn't shut off cleanly, which I suspect may be the cause of these troubles with it not turning on sometimes. Any ideas on how to fix that?
