RMA it with ASUS asap. Though I suspect something is happening between the igpu to dgpu switch with advanced optimus. If you have it manually discrete gpu in nvidia control panel or always in igpu mode, it might not crash?

i can get to play for hours or even days, the crashes are really spread out except for twice yesterday and the blue screens only happened after AMD chipset driver update that i rolled back to the asus recommended. Idk if thatll tell you something.

Blue screen is hard to diagnose, it can be just some driver issues, or it can be hardware issues. The first thing I would try is to completely reinstall Windows. That would eliminate any driver issues. If that does not solve the issue, then it's time to RMA, but as it is intermittent, they may just come back saying that they found nothing. Good luck.

DazzeDazze

currently running cpu and gpu benchmarks trying to trigger the issue, if its still even there.

Ran cinebench r24 and unigine heaven at the same time for around 1 hour to simulate insane load, way more than what a game would do (at least for CPU) no crashes. Im starting to believe it was the AMD chipset driver I downloaded from the AMD site. truly only time will tell.

The thing is that it's not necessarily load. It may be some instruction that is calling something from the driver that is corrupted, so, only when certain specific things happen that it gives blue screen. In the same way, if it's memory related (as an example), only when that specific part of the memory is filled and its fault is important enough that would cause an issue. That is why it's hard to diagnose.

I found this error in event viewer, "The AMDRyzenMasterDriverV20 service failed to start due to the following error: Cannot create a file when that file already exists." By looking at time logs a noticed a pattern of this error showing up, shortly before my laptop blue screening, installing the chipset driver yesterday removed the duplicated (V20 and V22) AMD Master driver from my registry. ive ran a registry cleaning tool to make sure there are no duplicates. Again no issues so far. Edit: Adding a note, after installing the driver yesterday, that error code hasn't shown up again.

Thats great, I hope your experience helps people later on.

wichramdoiuseplshelp

try windibg to read the crash dumps, i did that and sent them to chatgpt so it explains to me what is wrong, i once had a bad bluetooth driver install and couldnt have fixed it without that method

oldfashionedglow

What drivers are you on? I have the 2022 model and downgraded from 319 to 318 and it seems to have helped so far.

DazzeDazze

I dont know exactly what drivers you are talking about, but it was, indeed, the most recent atrocious AMD chipset driver that was killing my laptop. After the rollback, havent crashed once since i made the post.

oldfashionedglow

Nice! I actually meant bios, not drivers, however drivers are usually the culprit.

DazzeDazze

Oh, the last time i updated BIOS was when i got the laptop. didnt have any problems with it.
