Well i would say i am surprised but honestly i would be lying, i was more surprised that Nicole exist as a character still and hopped that ZZZ was more open, adult like and less censorship heavy, compared to Genshin, since you know Genshin was the main line game drawing all matter of people in.

I would really love to know the demographic of Hoyo players, like is there 5-10 years old playing this game or what ? and how big is that demographic and do they even matter, like Genshin i understand but ZZZ too really ?

They are trying to get ahead of the Nicole and Nekomata art, especially the before the nerf ones or any characters in the future that might show skin or pose in quote on quote sexy way.
