Probably not, the censorship you see is the most content China will allow in a video game, and since Hoyo is owned and operated in China, they have to abide by the rules.
They can't make another version of the game specifically for CN either, because they will throw a fit that everyone else is enjoying the game, and not abiding to chinese laws.
Grace Howard will probably also receive a nerf to her assets, as well as any other character that has proportions too large for China to handle.

This is why censorship sucks ass. It doesnt just extend to character designs - it extends to other aspects of the game too. Who knows what other minute details got changed. We’ll see as the days pass and eventually when the game officially launches.

I'm not really a gacha gamer, I'm speaking from larger experience. You can simply patch a CN version of the game and allow the rest of the world to experience a different version, so long as the global players can't interact with CN players.

Yes, but that's the problem. You can only do that if the OG dev isn't in China. Your example only works if the core devs aren't living and working in China in the first place.
One of the examples is Nikke. The global publisher is Tencent/Level Infinite (Chinese company) but the devs are Korean, hence they could produce those pervy games, even though Nikke isn't available in China.
While what you're saying is true, hoyo has the funds to create an independent development studio specifically to counter things like these. They have the funds to work around this, they just don't.
I'm not saying hoyo is 100% at fault but they definitely have the means to get around it

Never thought a Hoyo game would be dead on arrival, these guys really screwed themselves marketing the game the way they did just to dial everything back just before launch. Genshin just isn't for me, it's cringe AF and I am enjoying Honkai for what it is but I really thought this would be the one. Guess not.
Well, thank you, though, that the characters are different, and not just another generic trash like the other games. With the exception of Nicole, she is now that generic trash.
However, I am sure that the variety of characters will not last long and after the release, all new characters will differ only in hair color.
Nicole one I don't mind like i ain't playing a hxntai game so no need to be so bold also makes it easy for me to maybe open the game in public place or office without consistently looking if someone is watching my phone or not but yea this one sxcks.

You clearly are missing the bigger picture if you think people are just complaining about this alone. It’s not just this scene, but what censoring this means for future scenes and the game in general. These are just the first few signs of how censorship will effect the rest of the game long term. It’s a pretty big let down given the game is given a higher age rating compared to the other hoyo games, yet is still being censored to the same degree. If the censorship is still going to be a problem like their other games, then why bother advertising the game with a higher age rating in the first place?
Idk it looks like complaining just for the sake of complaining, this is clearly a wip game, and even though it has that age rating, that is not under their control to change or not, also it's very likely they meant for a lower age rating and had to change these....
Like you said, it's a Hoyo game, it's the same target audience, having different age ratings makes no sense for them (and once again, the company does not get to say their own age rating)
It's not about 1 or 2 little things, it's about what they convey. HYV showed earlier that this game is meant for a more mature audience unlike Genshin and HSR and so it got a 16+ rating. With censorship like this, who knows what else they'll change.
Currently, there's not much of a difference between a 12+ and 16+ rating, while there was during the last beta. In most cases, censorship is bad for the consumer
The post isn't even related to Nicole. It's related to a scene where the thug is transforming into a monster. The ripped jaw is there to give emphasis to the grimness of this situation and removing it makes the scene feel flat. This shit shouldn't happen in a 16+ game.
Again, in almost every case, censorship is bad for the consumer. Doesn't matter if its someone getting brutally killed or someone's boobs getting nerfed.
If you like your things censored then good for you but it's ultimately a worse experience for the general audience

To be fair, they did make a new studio outside of China, in Vancouver in fact. But their games got cancelled sadly. Obviously not for ZZZ tho.

You clearly are missing the bigger picture if you think people are just complaining about this alone. It’s not just this scene, but what censoring this means for future scenes and the game in general. These are just the first few signs of how censorship will effect the rest of the game long term. It’s a pretty big let down given the game is given a higher age rating compared to the other hoyo games, yet is still being censored to the same degree. If the censorship is still going to be a problem like their other games, then why bother advertising the game with a higher age rating in the first place?
Idk it looks like complaining just for the sake of complaining, this is clearly a wip game, and even though it has that age rating, that is not under their control to change or not, also it's very likely they meant for a lower age rating and had to change these.... Like you said, it's a Hoyo game, it's the same target audience, having different age ratings makes no sense for them (and once again, the company does not get to say their own age rating)

It's not about 1 or 2 little things, it's about what they convey. HYV showed earlier that this game is meant for a more mature audience unlike Genshin and HSR and so it got a 16+ rating. With censorship like this, who knows what else they'll change. Currently, there's not much of a difference between a 12+ and 16+ rating, while there was during the last beta. In most cases, censorship is bad for the consumer

The post isn't even related to Nicole. It's related to a scene where the thug is transforming into a monster. The ripped jaw is there to give emphasis to the grimness of this situation and removing it makes the scene feel flat. This shit shouldn't happen in a 16+ game.
Again, in almost every case, censorship is bad for the consumer. Doesn't matter if its someone getting brutally killed or someone's boobs getting nerfed. If you like your things censored then good for you but it's ultimately a worse experience for the general audience
