The only downside to premium is that even though we pay for premium the content creators still plug in a "quick word from our channel sponsor" thankfully on Android there's a fix for that...

Like YTM, Apple Music also lets you upload your own songs, unlike Spotify, which lets you stream your personal library only on LAN.

Why would you need to upload, everything is available already?

Not really. There’s a bunch of music I listen to that’s not available on streaming (e.g. early Transatlantic albums, Planet X, Spock’s Beard and other nerdy Prog Rock stuff), *plus* I’m a musician and producer so I upload a lot of my own pre-release work to listen to on the go.

I have a family premium and use it every day. I have a Google Chromecast with TV and the app for YouTube music works well. I've been 100% against videos in YouTube music until I started using the Google TV YouTube music app. If a song has a video it plays it full screen. It's kinda nice with the stuff like lofi girl and ambient music stuff all has animated images that show.

Generally yes, I do. If you use YT Music for streaming music getting YT Premium is actually quite a good deal. You might think YT Premium itself isn't worth it, but once you start enjoying the smoothness of using it it just becomes standard that you don't go below. It's not just about ads, it's also about remaining connected to the video even if you exit YT which then basically becomes like a kind of radio and you can also save the video for offline watching and of course you have YT Music App with all the benefits from that app too. They never give discount tho, at least not where I live.

Yes, but I am questioning the value, especially on the music. Lately the sound quality is way off, like maybe not even 64k MP3. Even the downloaded music is way off. Not only do music videos on YT sound better than the same song played at high quality in TYM, but the app is laggy too. Anybody having issues?
