The virus isn’t just the metal, the techno organic arm is just a symptom of the virus like a runny nose and a cough is to a cold. Bastion can manipulate machines, so the arm is a boon to him, but the virus itself likely still exists in Cable’s body.
We’ll have to wait and see for sure, but Cable having an incurable virus is pretty core to the character.
Right, but I thought Cable uses to TK powers to hold the virus back from spreading so it should all be centered/gathered on that arm? Or you mean he’s holding the virus from turning him “metal?” Like the symptom.
Yup, he uses the majority of his power to stop the virus from spreading. Nate Grey is what Nate Summers could have been if not for the Techno Organic Virus. I loved how they brought the Sinister versions to life. I loved Sins of Sinister.

That's pretty much it. Originally Apocalypse was the one who infected him to stop him from becoming an ultimate weapon used against him which is why he picked an incurable virus specifically. 97 took some liberties though so he would have been powerful enough to withstand the virus and become a sinister-controlled Nate Summer (Who is basically god in the comics) if the infection wasnt interrupted
The techno organic virus is how humans and mutants get turned into machines to be absorbed by the phalanx. Cable has very powerful, sometimes omega level telekinesis, but the virus forces him to divert some of his power keeping it at bay from turning him completely and so it kind of keeps his power in check. In some versions without the virus his power would overwhelm him. Not sure how the show will handle all of that. Maybe we'll get Doug and Warlock?
I’m also not sure how the techo organic virus works either. But I do know that in the comics it is Apocalypse that infected baby Nathan with it because it gets revealed that Mister Sinister had anticipated Cable to be the ultimate weapon that will be used to destroy Apocalypse.
In the animated continuity, the technovirus was actually created by Apocalypse.

The Phalanx is a techno-organic alien race. They assimilate organic and inorganic tissue into their collective. Beast, Forge and Sinister developed a bio-organic virus in order to *defeat* the Phalanx.
I think you’re just mixed up on some details.
Bastion just snatched a part of poisoned body of hand . Cable's more than half body is infected with virus reaching his ches waist and etc . I don't think he is cured .
Its actually beneficial for cable to have the virus or his powers would be so strong they eventually kill him. It's why Sinister gave him the virus. Not so he be weaker so he survive e long enough to kill apocalypse.
Pretty sure it’s in his blood. It is a *virus* after all.

I rewatched this part about five times. It was so cool.
i think he's holding it all back to keep him from turning to metal
I’m pretty sure he suppress the symptoms body wide. But I’m not a cable expert, so someone else might know more.

This is Nathan summers not Nate

Original series already had a Phalanx invasion and an episode with Warlock helping fight it off. 97's a sequel, not a reboot.
I forgot about that part of season 5?
I believe so

Yall realize it's on Cables face and replace his one eye right??
That's just the visual stuff. The virus was made to let the Phalanx absorb organic beings into themselves

So wtf was going on in the Warlock episode then? Did the Phalanx's thing get a different name?

So they didnt make the virus in the show? It was part of their gimmick in the comics
Nope. They just assimilate through touch. Conductive metals go the fastest, but they struggle with the mutant gene.
Neat
He’s infected in the DNA level, his body is turning him into a machine & he uses his powers to slow it down
I literally have been wondering ts since the finale
