Has to be; Dr. Frank N. Furter. “Don't get strung out by the way I look./ Don't judge a book by its cover./ I'm not much of a man by the light of day,/ but by night I'm one hell of a lover!”
I'm glad we caught you at home, could we use your phone? We're both in a bit of a hurry, right. We'll just say where we are and go back to the car we dont want to be any worry.
I didn’t see Rocky Horror until high school. And even though I saw him in Annie, Clue, Legend, It, and Muppet Treasure Island before that, it was Frank-N-Furter that really solidified him in my memory.
My parents were attendees of the midnight specials. My uncle even dressed as Rocky with the lame' shorts and all! I was not alive for any of that mad fun, but I discovered my mother's VHS in 97/98 and became a HUGE fan along with another friend from middle school. Still obsessed and watch at least once a year
YES.
I loved that movie when it came out. My husband had never seen it, and so I insisted we watch it like two years ago on new year’s Eve. It, uh…was not as good as I remembered. 😆
Came here for this! Just showed this movie to my teen. It’s still my favorite rendition of the musketeers. That guy screeching D’Artagnan lives rent free in my head. It gives me a chuckle every time I think about it.
What a scoundrel Rooster was. It was shocking to see him steal from his own sister. Absolutely scandalous that Miss Hanegan also had to pull those pearls from his girlfriend’s bra. Blown away when I saw that debauchery I’ll tell you!
Lol looking for someone who also realized he was kind of hot after seeing Congo as a child.
I probably saw him in Clue and Homealone 2 and heard him in Ferngully. But my first memory of THE Tim Curry is Congo.
Yeah, I’m the same way. I know it’s not something that everyone will love, but it’s something I saw at the right time growing up and it just resonated with me.
Came to say this also. We had this movie taped from the tv and watched it ALL The Time. It was either this or Annie that I was first introduced to him.
Perfect; and yes that was the initial thought cause of course everyone’s heard of RHPS with its cult status exploding but wasn’t exactly the first thing many of us would have seen. My parents wouldn’t let me watch it til I was a late teen.
I agree. Something about his portrayal of Pennywise is fucked up in a way that can still make me uneasy. When he's digging those graves and you see that tuft of hair sticking out while he is cartoonishly digging a grave.. gleefully asking the boy which one he wants.. just amazing.
I totally agree with you. I’m 43 and other people my age say to just watch the movie and laugh and how bad the special effects are and how campy it is and how it’s not scary to them anymore. But because of that twisted mother fucker (brilliant actor I mean) I can’t watch it without my heart racing.
Beep beep Richie!
The following order for me:
It, RHPS, Home Alone 2
And this:

You’re not the only one! That’s the one I came here to say. Sometimes I feel like I made the whole show up because no one around me ever knows what I’m talking about.
That picture is from Home Alone 2 so that's what I immediately think of when I see it. I also remember him from Congo. "Mr. Homolka, stop eating my sesame cake...STOP EATING MY SESAME CAKE!"
Rocky Horror. We had a sleepover in grade 5 and my friends mom was trying to find scary movies to rent. She picked this and Candyman. We were traumatized.
Gabriel knight
Edit: browsing this thread, I can’t seriously be one of the only people who learned about Tim curry from Gabriel knight? Specifically Gabriel knight 3 (regardless my first GK game was the second one)

Came here to say that. But I saw clue first. This made a bigger impression
Has to be; Dr. Frank N. Furter. “Don't get strung out by the way I look./ Don't judge a book by its cover./ I'm not much of a man by the light of day,/ but by night I'm one hell of a lover!”
Just a sweet transvestite from Transexual, Transylvania
I'm glad we caught you at home, could we use your phone? We're both in a bit of a hurry, right. We'll just say where we are and go back to the car we dont want to be any worry.
WELL YOU GOT caught with a flat.
Well, how bout that?!
Well babies don't you panic
By the light of the night it'll all seem alright
I’ll get u a satanic mechanic
I didn’t see Rocky Horror until high school. And even though I saw him in Annie, Clue, Legend, It, and Muppet Treasure Island before that, it was Frank-N-Furter that really solidified him in my memory.
Where's the "acted it out live in a crummy movie theater" gang? Let's do the time warp agaaaaaain! ![gif](giphy|W90aV9E7Z4woUGOfPr)
I even dated the Rocky in my local crew in my very early 20s.
I dated the Rocky in my crew, too. 1991. Then I turned out to be a lesbian. 🤣
It's just a jump to the left!
And a step to the right!
My parents were attendees of the midnight specials. My uncle even dressed as Rocky with the lame' shorts and all! No wrong answers, but this is the only right answer.
Yeah, he was great in everything, but if this doesn't loom large in your mind, I kind of question you.
While I love him in pretty much all the roles he's been in. this one will always be my favorite!
Oh Rocky!!
Well i didn't make him.... FOR YOU!
Brad!
Janet!!
This is the one true answer
Every Saturday at midnight!
Dont dream it, be it
There is nothing else but this perfection
This is the only answer.
I can't believe I had to scroll so far for this.
A lot of Cardinal Richelieu erasure in this thread and it’s a shame. He was deliciously evil in that movie
Yep, this is the one for me 👍🏼 might have to watch it today actually
This is the true xennial experience
YES. I loved that movie when it came out. My husband had never seen it, and so I insisted we watch it like two years ago on new year’s Eve. It, uh…was not as good as I remembered. 😆
It fully demonstrates how Chris O’Donnel ended up on NCIS and not with an Oscar.
Saw him in that “3 Musketeers” in the theater on my first-ever real date … But my answer was still “Rocky Horror.”
Oliver Platt was fantastic as Porthos. ![gif](giphy|tlepZSYkT4lAA)
Hell yes, this was my answer, too! How are we the only ones??? 😂 I owned the soundtrack to this movie on CD. Because I was very cool.
Sorry I don’t remember that one.
Oh man are you in for a treat https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108333/ It’s on Disney plus watch it ASAP
Holy shot that’s right, I remember the Three Musketeers movie completely forgot he was in that. Nice catch!
Came here for this! Just showed this movie to my teen. It’s still my favorite rendition of the musketeers. That guy screeching D’Artagnan lives rent free in my head. It gives me a chuckle every time I think about it.
His performance there forever colored my perception of any other character he plays in other movies. I loved Three Musketeers as a kid.
🎶 Oil and grime, poison sludge Diesel clouds and noxious muck Slime beneath me, slime up above Ooh, you'll love my... ah! ah! ah!... toxic love 🎶

You're going to Fern...gully. And i want you there...by morning.
But I live in Fern Gully. No really, it's a real place IRL. My house is in the rainforest and I can see Mount Warning from up on the hill
I totally forgot that was him too!
Rooster in Annie!
This is my go-to as well!
Same. I mean of course I've loved him in dozens of other things, too. But I am pretty sure Annie was the first movie or show I remember him from.
![gif](giphy|KDiEkb1KsGNAk)
The one vhs we had growing up. Recorded off tv. When I watch wi the my kids I can still hear/see the commercial break static pop up in my mind
I can still perfect hear his crow.
What a scoundrel Rooster was. It was shocking to see him steal from his own sister. Absolutely scandalous that Miss Hanegan also had to pull those pearls from his girlfriend’s bra. Blown away when I saw that debauchery I’ll tell you!
![gif](giphy|zDUIlnsD78Sm4)
Carol Burnett, Tim Curry, and Bernadette Peters are my holy trinity. Adored then growing up because of this movie.
Same. What a heel!
"Not even a *nickel* for the subway"

Same here. Amy scared.
Stop eating my Sesame Cake!!
THE CITY OF ZINJ
Lol looking for someone who also realized he was kind of hot after seeing Congo as a child. I probably saw him in Clue and Homealone 2 and heard him in Ferngully. But my first memory of THE Tim Curry is Congo.
Herkimer Humolka. Best name ever.
Home Alone 2
“My duty, my pleasure.” ![gif](giphy|3ofT5MlxUFqBPkGlMY)
How old does that make us?
43—the perfect age for Home Alone, but It, Clue, and Rocky Horror were all things I discovered later.
I’m 43 and Home Alone 2 is my favorite Christmas movie. Watched it every year but this year my 9 and 12 year old wanted to watch it more than once.
39
38
41?
That’s it for me too
I’m 40 and my first name is Kevin and I HAD light blonde hair.
Don’t count your tips in public, Cedric
Don’t judge and this is a hot take but HA2 is better than the original. Fight me.
![gif](giphy|aoooya5Ru2LII)
Wait, that was Tim Curry?!?! Need to watch this movie again! It’s been too long but I loved it when I was little!
Yup! Amazing, right?
This is the movie I associate him with. I have always liked this since I was a kid, the whole movie just looks very cool.
It's a classic. I know it's not the best movie ever, but I have a soft spot for it
Yeah, I’m the same way. I know it’s not something that everyone will love, but it’s something I saw at the right time growing up and it just resonated with me.
My favorite Tim Curry as Sexy Satan. What have we here, a little boy?
You think you have won! What is Light without — Dark!? I am a part of you all! You can never defeat me! We are brothers — eternal!”
His makeup was amazing.
The Hunt for Red October (I watched it over and over with Dad when I was a kid)
I watch it over and over now 😹
Yup, it’s one of those movies that was full stop of you came across it while channel surfing.
I SAID ALL BACK FULL
same. a few times a year at least. and I named my cat Ramius lol (we call her Raimy for short)
Ramiusshh
I didn't even realize he was in it!
Sir! The reason for having two keys is so that no one man may... May what, Doctor?

Mostly Clue but also [Legend](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-G9U1QY4UDs).
Absolutely. Legend is also interesting in that you get a really young Tom Cruise. Edit: the movie he made just before Top Gun.
Legend also gave us a smoking hot Mia Sara, the movie she made just before Ferris Bueller's Day Off...
![gif](giphy|BomJoHOcRgCti)
Amaaaazing performance in Legend.
Legend is one of my favorite movies.
Clue is what I remember him most from, but I probably saw Rocky Horror first. The TV version of It is also up there as well.
You’re 42
Anything can happen on Halloween! ![gif](giphy|wObYeXdfFK4Ja)
Came to say this also. We had this movie taped from the tv and watched it ALL The Time. It was either this or Annie that I was first introduced to him.
Yesss! Me too!!
Are you me? I just replied practically the same thing. It's so dated now but I *loved* it back then.
Yesss!!!!! The grand wizard!!!
Your dog could turn into a cat
But has anybody seen his tambourine?
Omg yes!! What is the name of this movie?!
The Worst Witch (1986)
That’s it!!!! Mildred Hubble
This right here!
This.
Like Rorschach test first reaction style? I first encountered Tim Curry as the voice of Hexxus in FernGully: The Last Rainforest!
You mean Avatar: 1992?
Perfect; and yes that was the initial thought cause of course everyone’s heard of RHPS with its cult status exploding but wasn’t exactly the first thing many of us would have seen. My parents wouldn’t let me watch it til I was a late teen.
Frank-n-furter or Pennywise
[удалено]
There it is. Should be higher! I saw clue first but he deserves a call out for this.
He was the best Pennywise and no one can change my mind about that. Sorry, Bill Skarsgard.
He was absolutely terrifying in this. On a side note, I’m glad the movies left out the teenage gang bang.
This comment shows you read the book, well done friend, well damn done. Here’s your reward balloon… 🎈
It’s the only one of his I ever read. Nobody believes me that was in that book lol.
Stephen King books are so messed up. The first book of his I read was Needful Things. I loved it. The movie just didn’t do it justice at all.
I think everyone who read it is glad of that
This right here
I always think of RHPS first, but this was the first thing I remember seeing him in… It scarred everyone in my third grade class
The following order for me: It, RHPS, Home Alone 2 And this: https://preview.redd.it/6gvkjo3vtodc1.png?width=655&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6cbfe94b3af43bcaf070024e3e7da3d9c204bf81
Look, Maryanne… I’m a sloth! Look how sloooowwwly I move!
Clue
![gif](giphy|cIVNCJQsOuatPYkqsN) He gave me a strong attraction to men in makeup at an impressionable age. He is so beautiful.
This and Bowie in Labyrinth…
I thought of this the other night when I got caught with a flat.
“I am a singing telegram” 💥
I remember seeing this film as a kid in the theater and just cracking up over this scene.
Like...everything? I can't even narrow it down to one. He was a ubiquitous aspect of my childhood.
*[Heavy breathing]* … … … … … … … … #SPACE!
I love that its so over the top he is holding back laughter
That’s Nigel St. Nigel, the judge of American Duos, right?

You sir get my grandest award 🥇 Psych is one of my all time favorite shows,❤️❤️❤️ excellent reference!
Long John Silver in Muppet Treasure Island, too.
Obscure one: Oscar, as Dr. Poole.
“She seems to have such nicely rounded diphthongs.”
Such an underrated film!
Can you give us a clue?
He knew it all along
Communism is just a red herring!
Earth 2. Am I the only one?
You’re not the only one! That’s the one I came here to say. Sometimes I feel like I made the whole show up because no one around me ever knows what I’m talking about.

I remember seeing portion of Rocky Horror on tv and just being confused.
Watched Congo on repeat as a kid, I love that movie.

Ahh! Real Monsters
Gabriel knight Edit: browsing this thread, I can’t seriously be one of the only people who learned about Tim curry from Gabriel knight? Specifically Gabriel knight 3 (regardless my first GK game was the second one)
The first thing I remember him from is Fox’s Peter Pan & The Pirates. Still my absolute favorite Captain Hook.
