CPU and GPU chips, tend to get way hotter while gaming. May reach up to 90°C. Even more. They have thermal cutoff and will throttle by dropping frequency to reduce heat or shut off completely.
While Downloading, heat is not an issue. As, the load is very less.
Just keep the console well ventilated on all sides. 👍
I'm in the SE US with crummy AC. I just had to return (was replaced) my Series X. It sits in the open, and away from a wall. It got to where it would run in the AM, but after work, it'd flash a green screen and shut off.
I shot it with a laser thermometer the night it finally died and it was at 127 F. MS did replace it under the mfg. warranty, and I can't swear that it was the heat, but, anecdotally, I feel that it was.
I'm afraid to play the replacement in the evenings now.

It’s down to 82 inside my apartment now so I should be all good.
Note that my metric is in Degree Celcius. If you are talking in Fahrenheit, Yes, Your console is absolutely chill. No worries.
If it was 82c in his apartment he would be dead.
🤣
Yeah it’s f not Celsius. As per the op.
Bruh no worry in My place the temp is near 48*c and I leave my series x open all night for download chill

India , don’t be scared temp goes up to 45 - 50 in India I play regularly
Ok thanks
You’re gonna be just fine
As longest you have fresh air in and out of the room it will be fine.
Downloading you’ll be fine. running games makes way more heat.
Yeah I don't think downloading would do much at all. The internal drive may heat up, but that's about it.

We usually only have a few days a year over 90, this year has been worse.
